Gym wise it has everything you need, for me paying £42 a month was only for convenience (i lived local). Leaving the gym is the issue , life doesn't give you reminders or notice. I had to leave on short notice letting a gym know is the least of my problems, but now they are hounding me for £42 when i have been a loyal customer for almost a year & a half (prob longer which equates to around £700) I haven't used the gym for 2 months now but they still insist i pay them...ill be using another gym which is a bit more with the times, short term contracts, no joining fees etc. Nice ppl in general but old school in terms of a company & they way they treat customers from my experience it's like they are running a debt collecting service. Which for me shows that they actually dont care about you they just want your money, like any selfish company. be wary guys...wish me luck!!

£32 a month, staff are nice, equipment is not great at all, need an update in this gym fast. After i moved job, I cancelled my direct debit and they have sent debt collectors after me who are asking for a crazy amount of money. No letters sent regarding if i had any outstanding payments. Here this a lot with this gym

Plagued with unprofessional and rude leadership; a gym owner who puts profit over people. Do not join if you're looking for a gym that is people-centric and customer-focused as Fit This would highly disappoint you. The manager is TOO RUDE. Instructing a debt agency to collect monies which I had already paid. You would expect a private company to be grateful for custom during these challenging times (COVID-19) but not Fit This.

You pay off the remainder of your contract so you can leave your gym to then be sent letters from a debt collecting agency! Bunch of jokers

The light Space and equipment is great, and the changing rooms were lovely and clean. I especially loved Shevron the personal trainer who i’d highly recommend. He’s really knowledgeable about health and fitness. Just a really nice guy and the PT you need if you’re out of shape (like me) and need motivation. Gyms can be boring but he made the sessions enjoyable and fun :)

Great gym that delivers massively on free weights, positive reception greetings, amazing PT session for 6 months to trim down and build something serious muscles with positive, knowledgable and good vibes from PT Shervon. Achieved far less in my £120 black label virgin active gym membership than I have with these guys. Friendly local gym, just the right amount of everything you need.

This is a very very friendly gym and you will fell welcomed here so don't be scared if you're worried about stepping into a gym for the first time. I started coming here in the summer and had only been in a gym twice before. I was made to feel welcomed and the free PT sessions they offer really help you build confidence if you're not used to using the machines. The staff are all really approachable and a lot of the gym members are also very friendly and helpful if you're a bit unsure about something. I have previously found gyms very intimidating and felt like I didn't belong there and lacked confidence, but I don't feel like that with this gym. If you are a bit anxious or lack confidence there are off peak times throughout the day when the place is very chill. Because it's not a huge mega gym, it can get busy in peak hours, but people do still tend to be respectful during peak hours, but you might not always be able to get on the equipment you need straight away during mega busy periods. I don't have this problem during off-peak times though. Since I started going here I have also checked out some other gyms in the area, but this one is the friendliest by far with the best vibe. There is also a fairly even split between men and women and it's not full of macho gym bros. I also prefer the equipment in this gym to others nearby.

Fit-this is a great gym in the heart of Hackney. The staff is always friendly, the equipments are good and they offer a great variety of classes. The studio is cool and spacious. They also have sauna and sun bed. Good value for the money!

The first gym i've joined where I didn't stop going 2 months after joining. I made friends here, the classes are amazing, really helpful staff, good music, not the normal gym music. No gym bros, theres a 50/50 women and men ratio, very clean sauna and changing rooms, my favourite gym by miles. feel so comfortable here

I've been a member of this gym for about 8 years and am sad to be leaving as I'm moving house to Walthamstow. Always friendly staff, lots of good quality equipment and plenty of room to throw weights around. Only thing I'd change is some of the music choices they blast out on the speakers, but each to their own, that's what headphones are for.

Great variety of equipment and classes, plus a sauna. Professional and helpful staff/trainers. Clean and organized. Reasonably priced for London, too. Love it! (And, in my opinion, the contract is pretty standard. If you don't want to commit to a contract, join elsewhere. If you want a friendly and spacious local gym, this is the one).

It has always been a pleasure to be there, everyone is very kind and helpful. The equipment is in very good condition, and the changing rooms have always been clean. Nothing better than the sauna after exercise! I definitely recommend!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!!! WILL BREACH YOUR GDRP RIGHTS AND TRY TO CLAIM PAYMENTS THAT ARE NOT OWED. Having reminded us that they are a "family business serving the community", the management at fit this have pursued members for payments over the lockdown period even when their 12 month contracts are over. My contract ended in October but they are threatening to send debt collectors to collect payment up until February of next year - looking for payment for the 5 months of lockdown!!! Since then I have sought legal advice. The gym refused to show me my contract. They then agreed to send it to me at a admin fee of £40. Then when I advised them that this was a serious GDPR breach they laughed it off. I am reporting them to the consumer watchdog and would advise anybody looking to join this gym to look elsewhere. They are a really nasty bunch of people.

I've been a member of Fit This (and its previous incarnations) for many years and have always found it a pleasant place to train. The staff are all very frieldy and you're always greeted with a smile. The team are always looking at ways to improve the gym and invest in new equipment regularly. It's a great local gym with affordable membship fees and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a gym in Hackney.

Terrible Experience with the managers of the gym. They behave in a rude and molesting way towards me, with calls and yells in real life when they claimed 2 months subscription to interrupt my gym membership (which happened due to Covid 19 and not really out of blue). I am really surprised someone could interact with their customers like this. WOW.

This is the best gym I’ve even been to! The manager, Junior, is lovely and all the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I did some personal training with Lamar and was able to improve my strength and muscle mass. Shervon is also very personable and approachable. They have a great and varied selection of gym equipment, which is new and well maintained. The sauna is amazing and always at high temperature 🥵😁 highly recommended!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇

I absolutely love this gym! The staff are always on hand to offer tips for technique improvements. Definitely the most supportive, helpful and friendly staff I've come across at any gym. There's a great selection of classes too.

Fantastic gym with a really nice and friendly crew and freshly modernised equipment. The personal trainers are a great bunch and it is a very welcoming no-pressure place suitable for those who want to train hard as well as those who are there for general fitness but who don’t aim to compete in the World Bodybuilding Championship - although I’m sure they can get you ready for it if you change your mind.

High quality and tons of equipment, always clean. Never too crowded in the mornings. Staff is super friendly, really nice they have a sauna as well. Highly recommend this gym!

And I love that it’s not about what you are wearing or your make up…it’s about getting in a good work out in a pleasant and supportive environment. A great gym in the heart of Hackney that really is very good value for money with the equipment and classes that membership gives you access to. Opens at 6am which suits an early bird like me - and it's well laid out and spacious so it never really feels over crowded. Lots of shapes and sizes of people there getting fit, so not intimidating in any way. Staff are great - really friendly and helpful, and the HIIT and body pump classes are definitely worth doing if you want to work up a sweat!

I've been working out in Fit This for over three years now and the experience could not have been better. I don't usually feel very comfortable in gym environments but here I always did. If I wanted to be in my own world working out by myself this was always the perfect gym for that. But also, if I was feeling more social or if I needed help, there was always a personal trainer ready to help and always with good vibes and a smile. Neil and Shevron are particularly amazing. I even took a few one-to-one sessions with Shevron and they were really helpful. I am relocating now so I feel super sad to leave this gym. Thank you guys, all the best!

After trying several other gyms around Hackney and Islington, I can confidently say this is by far my favourite. It's has good gear, rarely feels crowded, and most importantly it has a community feel — which so many of the fully-automated chain gyms don't have. The staff are all friendly and I get a good vibe off the people working out. Plus, free sauna? Love this place!

One of the best gyms I've been to - staff are super friendly and welcoming, the equipment is always in good condition and it's one of the most competitively priced gyms I've ever found. You get free training sessions with a PT when you sign-up which is amazing, particularly if you're not that used to designing your own work-out routine or familiar with the equipment. Special shout-out to Izzy who is the best!

I really enjoyed this gym. The staff are friendly, it's never too busy, and the offer of a free personalised programme upon joining is really great. It has a great balance of free weight and functional areas, alongside some decent cardio equipment. To top it all off it's kept clean, and changing areas are spacious.

I’ve love my time at FitThis, from the initial days of visiting and going through welcome package program to get me going was amazing. All staff are very professional and always have a smile and always there to help and never did I feel unwelcome by the other patrons that were there. I always had opportunities and space for my work out sessions as the design of the space lends itself to this. I’m sad to of had to leave because of a new job in a new area but I really recommend this place over any faceless chain. This place is pure neighbourhood gym

Easily the best gym in Hackney hands down. Open and friendly to all ages, no matter what stage in your fitness journey you’re in. The community is extremely helpful to all and makes joining the gym as a newbie so much easier. The staff are great people on top of being amazing at what they do fitness wise which makes the environment all that much better to be in while working out.

Great gym, got all the equipment you need (4x squat racks is a massive plus) plus functional equipment too. Staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome/positive . Having a sauna is a big win and the environment to train is exactly what you want - no pretentious body building types. Would continue membership if I wasn't moving area in London

Good all-round gym, especially like the functional fitness suite.

The gym itself is fine - it's small and pretty basic but just about get's the job done. Changing facilities could generously be described as utilitarian, but often not particularly clean and smell grim - no chance anyone would be showering in there if they lived even vaguely close. The staff employed at the gym are all really helpful and nice, so that's is a plus. But the person who I can only assume is the owner is so unpleasant. I rang up to ask if I could cancel my membership as I was moving out of the area and also didn't particularly want to risk going in due to COVID-19 even when the government guidelines allowed gyms to remain open. The response I got was shockingly aggressive. I'd emailed earlier asking if, due to the fact that COVID-19 was inhibiting me from coming in, and that my circumstances had changed weather this was grounds to exit my contract early and was greeted with hostility. So I'd decided to ring to try eliminate any miscommunication that may happen over an email. Instead I received an even colder response that ended with a threat of 'You have two options, pay £117 now, or we'll see you in court' and the phone being put down. This was after about 30 seconds of my explanation as to why I could no longer come to the gym. I'd never experienced such aggression and unprofessionalism from a business before. I decided to pay the £117 and asked the gym manager (who was much more reasonable) if I could offset the payment I had just made a couple of days earlier against the fee and he said yeah no problem. So walked away £78 lighter. They then continued to take £39 out of my account monthly for the next 4 months after they had instructed me they had cancelled the direct debit. I eventually managed to get a refund after a few emails back and fourth Only saving grace for this place is the staff employed there, but due to the facilities and professionalism of the owner - swerve it.

I am sorry to leave this gym (only because of relocation) because I had nothing but a positive experience. Equipment is wide ranging and well spaced out, changing room etc all in good nick, and good amount of classes available. It's also good value for money given the options on offer and I enjoyed the view from the treadmills, so nice when you don't need to stare at mirrors all the time. All in all, I can recommend!

Great local gym. Friendly staff and a good amount of equipment and space. They really do try to upgrade facilities as well with recent large scale renovations to increase the gym floor. Also rarely too crowded which is a nice bonus!

Great gym, amazing classes and friendly staff who are always willing to go the extra mile. The studio is huge so you don't have to worry about booking classes in advance, the teachers are so friendly and committed to improving your fitness and ensuring you've got good form and technique.

FitThis is a great gym! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, they are keen to help you achieve your goals and make sure you have a plan to do so. It’s a welcoming space and I felt comfortable there without prior gym experience. Class selection is great too and instructors are friendly and helpful.

Would've put 5 stars but I've seen how busy the gym has gotten since I first joined. They don't seem to have a limit on how many people they are signing up, sometimes I can't even do my workout properly as there are too many people - the gym is quite small, not like your standard pure gym etc etc so bare that in mind. Besides that, I do like this gym and enjoy going there, the staff are generally very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and non intimidating. If you want to have a personal trainer, I would recommend going with Shervon. Not only is he the best PT there, he is also the friendliest and most helpful staff member working there! Another thing to note, the female changing rooms are in need of refurbishment and a good deep clean. If any management read this, please get on that ASAP, it looks like you found the lockers at a car boot sale. 😁

Having been a member for several years, I can truly say this is an excellent community gym. They have a good amount of equipment, all of which is in top condition. Over time they have improved the layout, increasing the space. The vibe is super friendly and the staff are the best I've come across. They are upbeat, motivating and always willing to help. There is also physio on premises, who helped me through a major injury. IMO the best all-round gym in Hackney

Awesome gym. I actually subscribe to it and going there 4 times a week. Good staff and not overcrowded so far 👌 It's my first time in a gym so I cannot so much compare it to other gyms but it got everything I need, if not more. There are few things missing in the free weights area such as a decline bench for barbells however the staff finds you good equivalence exercises if you ask them

Best gym I've ever been a member at! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, great equipment and I've never had any trouble getting my workouts done with little to no wait times for anything. My training is strength based and they have everything you'd need with a great selection of benches, racks, barbells, weights and more. Really great, community focused gym.
