7pm on a dark and wet Saturday evening. A child running around a la McDonald's at its worst. A bulldog barking then sitting on the seats, finally resting its slobbering chops on the table being used by the current occupants of that part of the pub, unknown to future customers. Meanwhile, nobody running the place seemed to find any of this behaviour unusual or worthy of intervention. It makes you wonder. Avoid.

I usually like this place however the experience we had yesterday was very poor. The security guard seemed to have singled us out for no apparent reason. Asked us where we were from (relevant when deciding if to allow people in?) Then went on to pester us on two further occasions. I sought out the manager and he was understanding. It can be difficult gig all round for security but some sort of professionalism is needed.

🚇 Bethnal Green 🍺 £6.40 Camden Pilsner ❤️ The new breed of East End Pub. . The Bethnal Green Tavern is located on busy Bethnal Green Road. Bethnal Green tube station is only a few minutes walk down the road. . This pub was rebuilt in its current guise in 1864 and used to be a Charrington’s house called The Camden Head. It was taken over by Wetherspoons for some years and called The Misty Moon, in 2020 The Graceland PubCo took over what is today, The Bethnal Green Tavern. . This is a large one bar pub with a good size servery at its core. The decor here in main is traditional with lots of copper poser tables and low level seating. The pub is fairly dimly lit as most of the natural light comes in through the front windows, as you head towards the back of the bar it does feel cosy with the candles on the tables. At the rear of the pub is the beer garden with plenty of benches and covered spaces. . The beer selection was very impressive with over twenty beers, ales and ciders to go at. After a bit of consultation I decided on a Camden Pilsner, I have never tried this beer before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Price point though was expensive for the area. I was feeling a bit Hank so I decided to check out the food menu. I ordered a Fish Finger sandwich and fries for £12, my food was delicious and a hearty portion. . I visited around 4pm on a Saturday and the pub was busy with an upbeat atmosphere. There are two types of pub in Bethnal Green, the staunch local full of punters that have drunk in the same pub man and boy. The other is full of new residents to the area, young professionals and students who are part of East London’s gentrification, this pub is the latter. The service here was excellent, the staff really know their stuff and were very hospitable. . The @bethnalgreentavern is a fantastic pub with a superb beer choice and decent tucker. The atmosphere and vibe here is relaxed and chilled, the service is top drawer too. One of the best of the new breed in the area. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 04.02.23

A great little pub, the outdoor area in the back is especially nice. The Sunday roast and pork belly bites were both excellent.

Really nice place to look at but it’s lost it’s heart. I often walk past in the evenings and it’s completely dead with the bar staff twiddling their thumbs. The Misty Moon needed a make over but unfortunately the entire soul of the pub has gone. Such a shame.

I don't know why this place was so quiet but honestly, it was lovely. To say they have a good selection of beers is an understatement. Only a couple of cask ales though, which i understand given the shelf life, but still a bit disappointing. Really great pub, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and they have a QR code to get pizza delivered. It will undoubtedly get busy and noisy like most Bethnal boozers so i suggest getting in there while it's a still a secret beer haven.

Very cool, understated place. Drinks were reasonably enough priced and the dim, yellowish lighting inside creates a unique cross between a dive bar and speakeasy.

Most beer on tap not available, rather high prices, loud and bad music, almost no guests

Superb place in Bethnal green, definitely the one to pay a visit for! 1. Staff - amazing! We've been approached by Maria at the entrance and Matty behind the bar who both have been very easy to talk to and knew their stuff. 2. Food - we've had two different burgers and both were really good. Just a right amount of quality food - it took a bit to be prepared but it was worth waiting for while chilling in the back garden - nice decor and really good tunes. 3. Design and facilities are top notch. Cutlery - solid and nice eat with, tables clean, even tissues are not cheap, toilet facilities clean and has everything you need - banging! 4. Definitely coming back! I hope this review will help people to discover an amazing part of bethnal green to have their meal and a pint at. 5 stars!

It's an ok pub, not much choice of beer on tap, food was ok £10 for cheeseburger and chips, although the chips was very salty, bar staff are friendly

Lovely pub a few minutes walk away from Bethnal Green and reachable from Shoreditch High St station as well. Got a solid selection of beers on tap, plus a good selection of cocktails. They're keeping the American theme alive with the picklebacks, which were amazing. 👌🏿

Really great selection of beers and fairly reasonable prices. Located very near to the tube and with plenty of seating both indoors and out. The beer menu is good even by trendy London standards.

Didn't clock this place for a couple of years due to lockdown, but big fan: great beer selection and a wide bar you can sit at when it's quiet.

Great food and beers and very good outdoor seating. Main bar is atmospheric and full of interesting features. No sign saying the venues name though.

Besides it's near impossible to discern it from outside. Incredible bar with a good smoking/outside area. And really great beer selection. Just like its sister sites.

Relaxed pub with a chilled atmosphere. Largish indoor area and a courtyard style beer garden. Good beer selection. (Food) Menu has vegetarian & vegan options and there's a few vegan cocktails too. Prices are good/reasonable for London 😉

Nice pub with a back garden area. Though garden area gets way too smokey so you are probably better off staying inside

The ambiance is nice. Drinks are very expensive which is fine, but the number of cocktail options are less.

  • 5/5 Ben P. 4 months ago on Google
Nice food and a really good range of beer, ranging from old-school classics like Harvey's to newer craft-ale-boom IPAs and porters. Friendly staff and interesting music, too. I can imagine myself settling in for a long day's relaxed drinking.

Lovely pub with lovelier staff and what an amazing selection of beers! Has become my go-to pub! Love the atmosphere, the vibe and the outside sitting area is just so quaint! Almost no food options, but whatever you get is tasty af!

I quite like this pub, not so much the inside but mainly the outside. very lovely beer garden. the staff are really great and the people there seem full of joy. I have only been there on Friday evening though, that might be why people are so jolly.

A gem of a pub located in the heart of Bethnal Green. Real ales and many other draft options. Food is tasty and good variety. The atmosphere inside and outside is exactly what I look for in a pub. The patio seating is beautiful at night.

Great selection of both alcoholic and non-/low-alcoholic drinks. Lovely garden space. Always a bit too dark inside though and sometimes too loud for conversation as well

Under new ownership from 4 March 2020 so ignore reviews before then. Very nice (if dimly lit) pub with new focus on craft beer from Graceland group, so excellent drink selection. Food coming soon.

Large main road pub with checkered history, brought into the family that includes nearby back street favourite Kings Arms. The proven popular offering of quality UK & foreign beers served well being the main attraction. Paint fresh right now, a fine addition to a locale not short on drinking options.

Been here once and would deffo go again. The managers did well with the covid19 rules compared to other pubs in the area. The drinks prices are fair (Good beer selection) and the roast pork belly is a must have!

  • 1/5 seth b. 4 years ago on Google
It's a shame that my first experience of this new bar was marred by the downright shameful attitude of the man behind the bar who at the time didn't appear to be serving anyone. I attempted to make eye contact but that didn't seem to work as the poor chap has a glazed look about him. When he went to serve someone who just walked up I had to mention that I'd been waiting for a while and usually the onos is on the barman to ask if either you're being served or if you'd like a drink. When I questioned this he immediately became defensive and mentioned that because I didn't work there then I had no jurististiction on the matter. I promptly walked out. First experiences are everything and this was single handedly the worst that I've had in many years.
