If you’re in the market for awful food straight from the freezer (or maybe straight from the worst episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares), then this place will do the trick. Appalling.

Good pizza, very good service (one waiter to many tables; he didn't get overwhelmed and didn't forget anyone). We shared some olives (very fresh) and I had the vegan 'Mary Jane' pizza; very inventive toppings! Walnuts work surprisingly well! I asked for additional chilli and was expecting to have to pay a few pence more, but was pleasantly surprised to see there were no extra charges. My boyfriend ordered the 'Los Pollos Hernandos' (the daily special) but wasn't as impressed as I was. He said it was decent, but slightly undercooked in the middle. But we both agreed we'd try one of the other locations. We also shard the brownie with ice cream and salted caramel sauce; it was tasty, but nothing to write home about. The stand-out superstars were the cocktails with their homemade ginger beer. My bf got his with whiskey and I got mine with rum (the dark and stormy). The ginger beer isnt overly spiced, and the additional ingredient (we think it's apple juice?) adds a nice zing. And at £7.50 for a double, they're very reasonably priced :) the whole meal came to £24 each, which isn't bad at all!

Friendly Manager and Great Food. This opened recently and despite living just round the corner, we only just realised as it’s tucked away. The pizza toppings were amazing quality and the menu is simple, but a good variety with a non-cheese Vegan options and plenty of veggie stuff. Beers and drinks relatively cheap for East London too. We will definitely be back soon!

Excellent service (very kind and professional staff). Excellent pizza with fresh ingredients. We came in on a Friday night without a reservation and they promptly seated us anyway. The special pizza (La Belle) was excellent, along with the dessert. We paid about £66 for three people, which is a very good price point for what we ate. The atmosphere was wonderful as well.

Great atmosphere, really friendly host - Martina (I think) went out of her way to describe the specials and I ended up ordering the special - it was amazing. Great flavours, great staff, cool atmosphere that doesn't try too hard. The salted caramel brownie and the tiramisu are must haves!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ - Updating my review to reaffirm that this is the best pizza in London. Don't mess around, order the wicker man! The place is fantastic. Some of the best pizza I've ever had, combined with amazing starters and a very strong beer selection too. Highly recommend the burrata and aubergine starter. Then make sure you go for the nduja and aubergine pizza. It's - wow. 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕

It was a wonderful experience, we went there for breakfast, the waiter was so grateful, professional and also funny. I ordered the Chiringuito's breakfast which was so complete and delicious. My girlfriend ordered an avocado toast, however she didn't like it a lot because the avocado was a little bit spicy. Good price, good music, good atmosphere. Good experience

Beautiful spot in London, cosy and nice atmosphere, lovely staff. The pizza was delicious, I got the white goat (highly recommended). There’s only one vegan option unfortunately. my friend was vegan so she only had one choice available. Apart from that, I’ll definitely suggest this place more often!!

The review is the average between the location, which is lovely, located in an Archway few minutes away from Bethnal Green station, plants and candles everywhere.. pretty romantic, and the absolute appalling service provided. Customer arrived 15 min after us who got their pizza before, asked for a no onion pizza and received a pizza with onions everywhere, had to wait for 10 min for the waiter to come collect the payment and not a single tiny discount was offered after all this. Disappointed. I wanted to try this place so badly.

Really excellent, inventive and delicious pizza, and the railway arch setting - though not uncommon around Bethnal Green - is a real delight. Excellent natural wine (which I’m not always sold on but they’ve chosen well here) selection too. Service is great too.

Have been enjoying Sodo’s pizzas for years in their various locations and tried their brunch for the first time here at Bethnal Green last weekend. Best baked eggs I’ve had in a long time and amazing coffee. Love the focus on sourcing sustainable ingredients. My brunching partner also highly recommends the breakfast pizza! Will be returning for sure 👌🏽

VIMTO invited to Sodo Pizza Bethnal Green when in London last week. The place hidden in a back alley and after started walking from the main street didn't expect to see a very lovely lively place serving sourdough pizza, natural wine and craft beer located in a railway archway. The pizza, the starters and wine were all excellent and ethical service to match.

Cool restaurant with a unique interior design. Amazing food (definitely go for the chilli honey pizza) and refreshing organic white wine. Will be returning once lockdown is over! See you soon! Also, our waitress Martina was lovely. Thank you :)

Arrived early for our reservation but we were greeted warmly and offered a table very quickly. The staff were polite and friendly. It took a while for them to take our order but they were quite busy so it was understandable. They have a novel way of dealing with distancing for COVID - anything and everything has been used as a screen between tables/areas - we were screened by plants on one side and a rickety screen on the other. It added to the fun feel of the place. The food was the best thing though. The meats and pickles starter was delicious and the pizzas were perfectly cooked. I normally need something to dip my crusts in but the pizzas were so well topped that I could eat it all without any dips. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) Pizza at it's best. Located in a small street under a railway track is this gem. Very well attended, for two you will spontaneously get a cookie, larger groups should book. The pizza (there is only pizza) is very good and does not miss anything. The restaurant is run by Italians who understand their craft and the very nice atmosphere does the rest. Wine, beer, desert and main course were delicious. (Original) Pizza at it‘s best.

No staff wearing masks correctly. Seated next to toilets when bar was more than half empty. Drink quality poor and overpriced (~£10 for slushy cocktail). Did try to gently complain about the cocktail but was met with indifference... don't charge so much for something so poor!

Average food, friendly service, tasty cocktails although don't even feel tipsy after three so assume they're not strong. Annoying having to endure our meal next to obnoxious people who shouted loudly with no consideration for anyone else in the restaurant - also it was so cold inside we had to wear coats (in September!).

  • 5/5 Pálma S. 3 years ago on Google
I could smell the food from across the street. That’s what dragged me and my friend in. The food was delicious. I love that it’s right next to the station and also on the corner of the park which makes it easily accessible but at the same time it has a calm vibe with squirrels running around ☺️ Service was friendly and welcoming.

Social distancing was none existent, had to ask for our table to be cleaned besides it being a pandemic that's just laziness. Another table asked us if they were meant to collect their drinks as the service was so unclear and slow. I asked the server where their olive oil is from because it is soooo tasty and she said I don't know I didn't make your food which was a bit aggy but, it was more annoying that she was the one that got me more so probably poured the bottle and saw what brand it was anyway hahahaha

It's fine, but pricey and not justifiably so. Works ok as a midweek evening drinking place, and maybe it gets more lively at weekends, but really the only thing this place has got going for itself is the location. £7 for helping of olives to go with your drink is never justifiable, as not even M&S would charge that much (and M&S olives they were not). I wanted to like this place, but I'm disappointed that there are myriad better options nearby. EDIT: Thank you very much for the considered reply. I will make a point of coming back and revising my review.

Usually love this place but the service on Sunday night wasn't good - the lady wasn't there to greet us, left our pizzas on the side for ages before she brought them over and then never returned to take our plates or check if we wanted dessert. She did the absolute minimum but still added service charge :(

I never write restaurant reviews, but we met a waitress there who had to be recognized publicly. palwasha was her name and she was phenomenal. She catered to the three children in the group. She was prompt, smart, caring and knowledgeable about the food. And she just had this friendly demeanour about her that made us all happy. By the way, the food is pretty good and I wish they had more chicken options...

Have to be the best pizzas in Hackney, if not London. And the guys are unbelievable, even slicing 40 pizzas for me and being so accommodating! Whether it’s a table for 2 or a big order this place is dreamy. And, the tiramisu is off the charts!

A great place for a date!!! Very intimate, but at the same time has a good vibe and is busy, so you will definitely have good privacy! Menu is not very huge, so it helps with making a quick decision, but all pizzas are delicious!!! So don’t worry! We had to wait a bit for a service as they are having only one person on the floor, but was great overall!

Located in a railway arch, they serve tasty sour dough pizzas. The kitchen closes at 10 pm, but you can still order drinks & desserts after that. Seems very popular with local students. Reasonably priced at £12-15 each. NB service charge automatically added.

We love pizza and have tried many pizzerias in London. For us this was average. Very crispy pizza base, no clay oven. Flavours and menu was ok! Cocktails are average and small, expensive for what they are. Staff are accommodating even if no booking - thank you!

Tucked away under the railway arches is a fantastic pizza spot. The ambience and decor is perfect for a date, low lighting and candles illuminating the tables in the evening. Service was super quick and food was delicious! Keep an eye on the specials board as it changes! Pizzas are around £12-17 and are decently sized.

I stumbled upon a charming little restaurant tucked away from the main street, situated beneath the overground train track, with unit number 266. In London, I hadn't come across such a unique pizza place until I found Sodo. Their menu is concise, the cosy dining room accommodates 50-60 guests, and the ambience caters to a diverse and vibrant crowd. You can witness the passionate chefs at work. I tried the Tomcat pizza, a culinary delight with impeccable dough, and their dessert left me in awe. The attentive staff made it a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it!

Calling all sustainability enthusiasts and foodies! Located across from Young V&A (The Museum of Childhood), down a cobblestone street and turn right onto the back of a little alley or behind Satan’s Whiskers (another local gem). Amazing ambience and even better pizza. We’ve been totally charmed by the food, staff and prices. Well worth the visit and a new local eatery for us.

Pizza here was sooooo good. I got the wicker man which was a delicious mix of honey, pepperoni and nduja. The people working were really great, we were a big group and they made a big effort to accommodate us and make sure we had drinks while we waited. If you come from bethwall climbing centre then you get buy one get one free on pizzas but it's pretty reasonably priced anyway. Only negative is the soft drinks aren't great, but that's just because I don't like Karma cola

Amazing pizza place to stop by after visiting the V&A. Great wine selection and the staff was very accommodating with my child’s dietary restrictions by putting toppings on the side. Highly recommend the white goat and wicker man pizzas and my child loved the cheesy bread. And they had a good selection of wine and cocktails - can’t wait to come back to try the mezcal margarita! Bonus points for the changing table in the bathroom and the incredible service, this place is a gem!

The food was delicious, for a very reasonable price. Atmosphere was top tier, only issue I could see is that it is a little tight if you have a larger party. But definitely would go again and recommend!
