Amazing and worth having experience! take care of traffic so that, I saw many people were crossing to go in the middle walking area when cars were passing! Lovely lights! This year’s timing: 09 November 2022 – 3 January 2023 The tradition of Christmas lights in London began in Regent Street in 1954. From the start of the Regent Street Christmas decorations, the 19th-century architecture was adorned with angels playing trumpets. This is one of my favourite street in London. I love to walk through it every time I go to London. One of the tourist attractions in London which is surrounded by historical buildings. Located at the heart of London's West End, Regent Street is one of the world's most prestigious lifestyle destinations, famous for its flagship stores and international brands. Experience Regent Street, London's distinctive home of fashion, dining, wellness and lifestyle. So beautiful सादर/Best... संदीप बिष्ट / Sandeep Bisht बिष्ट प्रैक्टिस / Bisht Practice

London has some beautiful light show during Christmas and Regent street is one of them. The beautiful angels just above you are beautiful and sends such a positive vibe. A must go to place before the lights are taken off and if the lockdown rules permit. Really mesmerising to see the decorations and the angels lighting just above you!

It was not what I expected. The lights are getting better as we are reaching Christmas. Not as good as they look in IG photos or reels.

Great place for shopping christmas.🎁 And a little bit of history. Named after the Prince Regent, the street was built in 1819 under the direction of architect John Nash and its Grade II listed facades represent some of the most distinguished architecture in London. When built, Regent Street was the original purpose-built shopping street for the capital and over 200 years it has grown into a world-renowned destination that curates year-round memorable experiences that go beyond the world-class shopping. Its programme of events are globally recognised and include Summer Streets, Fashion and Design Month in September, and the switch-on of its iconic Christmas lights in November. 2019 marks a monumental year for Regent Street as it celebrates 200 years since it was named in 1819. The street has continually evolved during these 200 years, taking inspiration from the heritage of past whilst always looking forward to an exciting future. Regent Street’s Regency buildings today are home to world-class flagship stores including Tory Burch, Burberry, Coach, Kate Spade, and J. Crew, while tucked away in Regent Street’s neighbouring side streets are award-winning restaurants such as the Araki, tibits, and Sabor. Wellness experiences can be found across the street, in the likes of Kiehl’s and DryBy, as well as Psycle and Rapha. Surrounded by diverse interlacing smaller streets including the wellness hub found on Mortimer Street, foodie havens Princes Street and Heddon Street, Regent Street offers all visitors an unmatched array of pioneering global names and independent brands. Regent Street is also a stone’s throw from Oxford Street, the theatre district, Soho and Covent Garden – making it a real hub for those working in the area, visitors  and those seeking a variety of things to see and do in London with family and friends.

You know Christmas is on its way when the Regent Street Christmas Lights are switched on. Arguably better than Oxford Streets offering, the Regent Street lights are fantastic, magical, christmassy and just plain awe inspiring. Great to look at walking down or up Regent Street, and also great to look at from the top deck of a double decker bus. Well worth going to see.

Another part of major shopping area in London with beautiful lightings on this case more on Christmas theme. You’ll be amazed with the beauty of it in-spite of being busy place. Closest underground stations are: Victoria, Bakerloo and Central Line Piccadilly and Bakerloo Line Victoria, Jubilee and Piccadilly Line Definitely a must visit place when you’re in London for sightseeing and of course shopping 😀

Regent Street is one of the most famous shopping streets in London, and its Christmas lights display has become an annual tradition. Here is a brief history of the Regent Street Christmas lights: 1. Early Beginnings: The tradition of decorating Regent Street for Christmas dates back to the late 1940s. It began as a way to bring some festive cheer to the city after the hardships of World War II. 2. First Illuminations: The first Christmas lights on Regent Street were installed in 1948. They were simple and consisted of strings of light bulbs in various colors. These lights were a symbol of hope and renewal during a time of post-war recovery. 3. Growing Popularity: Over the years, the Regent Street Christmas lights gained popularity and became a major attraction for both locals and tourists. The display evolved from basic light bulbs to more elaborate designs, incorporating festive motifs and themes. 4. Theme-based Displays: From the 1980s onwards, Regent Street started adopting specific themes for its Christmas lights display. Each year, the street would be adorned with lights and decorations that revolved around a particular theme, ranging from traditional Christmas motifs to modern and contemporary designs. 5. Technological Advancements: As technology advanced, the Christmas lights on Regent Street became more sophisticated. From the 1990s, LED lights started replacing traditional incandescent bulbs, making the displays brighter and more energy-efficient. 6. Spectacular Illuminations: In recent years, Regent Street’s Christmas lights have become a major spectacle. The street is transformed into a magical winter wonderland with dazzling light installations, interactive displays, and immersive experiences. 7. Switch-on Ceremony: The annual switch-on ceremony for the Regent Street Christmas lights has become a highly anticipated event. It usually takes place in November and attracts large crowds who gather to witness the moment when the lights are turned on for the first time. #christmas #london #regentstreet #2023

The street lights were really beautiful to see, especially when it gets a little bit dark. The streets are all fully lit up. It was not too busy, lots of area to walk which I think is the best option if you are able, but lots of other transport options are available.

Got the 23 bus from Liverpool Street station. It takes you past St. Paul's, along the Strand, passes Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and into Regent Street. Lights are as good as usual. Great for touring through central London. You also pass Hamleys and get a trip up Oxford Street. All for the touch of an Oyster card!
