😠 It is probably the worst gym I have ever been to. those who wrote good reviews are possibly kids that go there to play and have nothing to do with the gym but just killing some time. anyone who is looking for a well organised gym good machinery and shorter waiting times he's going to get very disapp... People often mention good, equipment, people, small, classes, weights, space, clean, time, staff,

It is probably the worst gym I have ever been to. those who wrote good reviews are possibly kids that go there to play and have nothing to do with the gym but just killing some time. anyone who is looking for a well organised gym good machinery and shorter waiting times he's going to get very disappointed like I did. It was literally impossible to use any machine due to the number of customers inside also it doesn't feel like you're in a gym as it's more like a playground for kids go there just to be on their phone taking up the space and equipment from those that actually wanna work out .

Worst gym etiquette I've seen and the staff are just rude and busy in the back office! Full of kids that they don't know to train, staff not there to correct them. The gym is way to busy and machines all over the place like were thrown randomly. Parking is only for staff they say but is staff and their friends. After 2 weeks i stopped my membership and gone somewhere else this gym is only for kids. If you looking for a proper traing this gym is not for you!!!! And please don't reply to my review with that fake thing "thank you for your comment" bla bla bla.

Unfortunately, lately it doesn't even look like a gym but some social club. Bunch of teenagers goofing, laughing and socialising around and occupying half of the gym ,sitting on machines ,not working out but just scrolling on their phones. Also lots of other ppl seem to go there coz of boredom , only sit on machine,no work out, and starring on their phones or checking the people around. So your chance to get on machine is many times zero and you leave frustrated 🥴. There should be time limit on each machine and people should be more respectful towards other ppl who actually go there to work out and not play with the phones or treat this place like social clubs

Excellent for cardio based exercises and workout machines, however very little space for performing heavy sets of compound lifts. 1 bench for bench press down stairs, 2 Squat racks, and an incredibly small area for deadlifts where the ground is slanted. So and ideal location for losing weight but to build muscle I'd recommend elsewhere.

The gym is ok, quite small compared to other branches in particular the weights section, and quite crowded. The parking isn't great. Like most pure gyms it's consistent in terms of equipment and reliability.

Good atmosphere, nice and cool temperature. I recommend going at times when not many people are at the gym. Good quality and clean equipment. would recommend.

Workable for a simple workout but definitely a no from me on the long term. the layout is confusing. Small corridors and multiple levels with closed areas mean that it feels claustrophobic. Parking is a nightmare - don’t bother if you’re driving.

Good gym . 24 hours so very convenient. I've only visited for early morning sessions so I don't know how busy it gets during peak hours I did find that the weights sections is not as advanced as the cardio area . Not much variation in terms of machines and as far as I remember only one dedicated chest bench in the whole gym. Regardless you can still get a good work out. Also the showers are really clean 👌

I had to change my review, the gym smelt really bad last time I went and the aqua massage machine smelt like cabbage, which is still making me feel sick to this day. I’ve notice that the local homeless people have made a little makeshift shelter on the side of the gym and that would probably explain the smell. Noticed a young woman not dressed for the gym (big hiking boots, baggy cargo trousers with tassels, a hoodie with surgical mask and full makeup) she came up to me and my brother asking for the weights that my brother was using, that he wasn’t even finished with. We decided to let her have them cos she was creeping us out and she didn’t even use the weights. After being in the gym for over an hour and a half we noticed that she didn’t do any exercise the whole time she was there. So we think she was just using the gym for shelter but yeah probably wouldn’t recommend.

Very good value for money and good location. If you are not fussy then this gym is more than enough for you. Also the trainers are nice guys and doing good team sessions. However it has some cons that made me give only 3 stars: Biggest issue is that the place gets so crowded ( especially in the evening) , that it makes it almost impossible to work out. I even got so annoyed one day that i just left. 160-170 people are too many for such a space. 2nd : the cleaning in the toilets and the changing room doesn’t keep up with the amount of people. Of course it will never keep up as one cleaner can’t possibly be everywhere at the same time and clean for 160 people. 3rd: because of so many people the air quality is not very good, i can feel it when i run. Its too hot and hard to breathe. Also they trying to sort it by turning the AC on , but with a ceiling of only 3m the cold air blows right on peoples sweated necks bringing them at risk of getting sick. The solution would be a ventilation system that extracts warm air outside not that pushes cold air inside. Or an even cheaper solution is to keep windows open 😁 Overall the gym is ok as long as you don’t need to use it during peak hours. However if you need to use it during peak hours , you can somehow avoid the worse by doing mainly cardio or joining team classes with a trainer , or doing leg exercises or aerobics. If you go for the other machines or especially for the free weights and the benches you might find yourself waiting for your turn.

Nice gym for a good price. Definitely need more cleaning stations and supplies especially for the amount of people who use this gym.

I am sorry I have to give this gym this rating. However, I am a member of this gym and book classes regularly. However, some staff members (gym Instructors)are not welcoming and have little to no customer service.

Awful layout but for me the worst is the children inside. As a former pt not only is this annoying for other members (they train in groups of 5-8) but it’s very dangerous for them long term as it seems there is little to no education for them when they join and they could be causing long term damage. Maybe have certain hours or sites under 18s only. It’s only a matter of time before we see an accident. I have a teenage son and I would advise him to have a specially adapted program before being let loose in a gym

The gym is small and crowded. Weights are all over the place. The lockers are broken. Only a few can be locked. And the siuthgate bus station is so crowded. Buses are never on time. Its only worth it if you loce nearby.

Just started going back to PureGym Southgate. It's a good clean gym with sufficient equipment over two levels. My wife loves the classes also..

  • 3/5 Onur N. 1 year ago on Google
Classes are very good and all the staff there are amazing. The only reason I give 3 stars is because they don't spend money on new equipment and not really interested in making the gym environment better. So in terms of all the trainers there, they are all amazing and I love doing their classes. In terms of the Gym, if I wasn't doing the classes would probably go to another Gym or another Pure Gym

D has one of the best classes I've been to at this gym! Her routines are always different, which really help when you're attending more than one session per week. Plus her music choice is perfectt- before you know it the class will be over and you'll be covered in sweat. There are some draw backs for the place in general, so I haven't given the full 5. The gym is on the smaller side and could do with bigger rooms (some classes are very popular so could use a bigger space). The equipment could be cleaned down more also as the weights have a fair bit of grime built up on them.

Love working out? Must visit. Very nice personal trainers

  • 3/5 Phil W. 1 year ago on Google
Not bad. Inexpensive and has good free classes, friendly staff and decent clean fitness equipment in good condition. Downsides are the weights room is far too small and crowded and difficult to get to use so I’ve had to change my entire training programme, also no sauna, showers that turn off 5 seconds after you press the button and no shower gel. Also no free chilled water - only available with premium membership and no-one to welcome you on entry/reception but that keeps the price low. Lots of room for fitness training. It’s my second gym after Fitness4Less in Bethnal Green and inferior in the above regards but superior in terms of clean showers and fitness space if that’s your thing. Recommended for fitness as opposed to weight training but that said, the weight machines upstairs are in mostly good condition.

Worst gym I've been to. It's like they got a small warehouse and dumped the equipments in any space they can find. Edit: I don't think you quite understood my review. It's not about the equipments used by members, but how the equipment has been arranged in this small space by the gym managers

  • 4/5 Dipak S. 2 years ago on Google
Still problems persist, many items of equipment are not put in its place and members are selfish or can not be bothered. Many lockers either broken or not working. Lockers kept by selfish members for weeks with padlock and not used. In the past notice were given and then padlocks removed, this needs to be done on regular basis.

  • 1/5 Selim A. 1 year ago on Google
This is a big fraud. There is no option to cancel your membership and I am assuming this is how they make money: people not able to cancel their membership and they keep their membership but not using any services, considering its just 20 pound per month. Go to the small business gyms otherwise your gonna regret. Only good thing about this place is they are 7/24.

Good workout. Gym is clean. Plenty of cleaning stations.

  • 3/5 Charlotte G. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of treadmills, tiny free weights section compared to size of cardio section. one bench press , no deadlift platform or bumper weights. two squat racks and always busy in the weight section. definitely don’t go at peak times if u want to workout anything other than cardio.

On this occasion I will recommend the gym. Really nice place to go.

  • 2/5 Akash M. 2 years ago on Google
Worst gym i have been to. Things in many rooms and limited free weight equipment meaning you are always waiting and having to look for the equipment you need. No way near enough benches and barbells.

  • 4/5 Jay J. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent good location bit small. Only issue i think they should have windows open to get free air. Eg puregym in enfield Southbury Road.

  • 3/5 Malak F. 2 years ago on Google
Not too bad , but I don’t know why this gym is full of kids that don’t know what they doing and comes in big groups!

  • 4/5 Harley C. 2 years ago on Google
Good gym. All equipment is in good condition. Social distancing measures and cleaning are in place. Slightly confusing placement of equipment dictated by layout limitations of the space. Also no dedicated car parking but you can use M&S car park next door for 90 minutes.
