I have been coming to this location since I was a child (before the Fusion buyout) And It breaks my heart to see a place that was the heart and soul of the area for all children when it was run by the council to become a cash cow and neglected so badly it’s disgusting. They are clearly exposing the rules and regulations for COVID by still charging people full price for entry but allowing an hour for everyone which is a joke as this includes children’s pool aswell, so a family entry is near enough £20.00 for a absurd one hour slot. This is not my main concern, the main concern is how filthy and hazardous the establish is. It literally made me feel sick when I saw the condition of the facilities and will definitely be contacting HSE as they cannot get away with having public attend a place at this standard. This is seriously alarming specially at a time like this. I feel sorry for the staff also as they are working conditions seem pretty poor and very under trained in running a sports complex of this altitude. Action needs to be taken immediately.

Lots of reviews seem to be related to the lido on a sunny day so I thought I'd add a "I just wanted a swim" review. Hadn't used the pool in years. Went to the website, booked a 8.30am slot for swim lanes (£5.50 or similar). No membership needed. Turned up at 8.30am on the dot, no queues, showed my booking confirmation email at reception, smiley person on reception let me through, got changed (£1 for the locker)... swam for my allotted 50 mins, showered, got my £1 back, left. Seemed nice enough. Pool was clean. Wasn't busy at 8.30 anyway. Negatives? Some of the showers didn't work. Some of the lockers were out of order. There was almost no cycle parking as they spaces seemed to be taken up mostly with abandoned bikes. The website could be clearer (especially about whether you needed a membership or not, which you don't). I did phone to check, nobody answered. But other than that, perfectly fine for a public pool. People don't tend to review unless it's horrific or brilliant, but my experience was just nice and simple. I suspect if you go there on a hot day at a busy time during a school holiday and expect it to be Holmes Place, you may not have the same experience.

Terribly maintained. Many of the machines are broken for over the year I've been there. The outside pool was closed, today the inside . The steam room not working, the showers no hot water. The mens changing room is closed . And the fire alarm went off constantly. It is the 8th circle of hell. Even at a moderately low fee its really pushing it .

Really disappointed. Pool is very dirty and unhygienic lots of dirt and insects in the water. Dirt on the bottom of the pool. I registered online and bought the ticket. When I arrived on the day they told me I have booked indoors swimming pool not outdoors. So I had to pay again. Website is very confusing 😕. To make a booking i had to registered although I could not cancel my booking. So what is the purpose of registering? Perhaps they just collect personal data to sell it on. Really bad experience. Place very neglected and not managed very well, but most of all overcrowded. Not enjoyed it at all. People in the reception trying their best but its the management that need to step up and make this place worth coming in again

The only reason I come to this pool is because it is near my house - otherwise I would definitely go elsewhere. The main issue is their front desk/staff and booking system. You will sometimes get charged on the app for no reason, and when you try and call the pool to sort it they will not pick up the phone. The only way to get rid of a fee is to physically go there and then hope there is still room to swim or use the facilities once the fee is cleared. I asked why they don't pick up the phone to sort these small issues and they told me "we don't pick up the phone". They also told me they would hold on to an item I had left behind (called 15 minutes after I left the pool realising I had forgotten it) and arranged for a time to pick it up. When I came to pick it up, they had no idea where it was and when I explained what was arranged I got screamed and refereed to as "your majesty" as if I was being demanding. Wildly unprofessional. Separately, the pool is very dirty, there is a an overwhelming smell of urine but I will note the cleaning staff is far nicer than the front desk staff. And like most public pools, it's simply too crowded in the lanes but that's a common issue. But to note, they will reduce lanes without warning because of a class (no mention of this when you book) so you end up being merged with another lane which means 10/12 people per lane. When you suggest giving people prior warning they tell you this is "impossible". Overall really bad but have no other choice at the moment.

Children's swim lessons cancelled for 7 weeks in a row now, no refund, no answers at the front desk besides “someone will call you” nobody ever calls. Such a shame as the faculties are great and when we did have teachers they were great too - just let down by such poor management & administration. UPDATE - swimming lessons for our 5 year old have now been cancelled for the last 3 months, we are still to receive any refunds for the cancelled lessons and we have no indication as to when they will restart

I was yesterday at this beautiful place. Really I was very pleased for installations. I'm aged lady with some difficulty for movements. All installations clean and working. The pool properly designed with whole safety measures to prevent safe all swimmers, children and adults. I enjoyed my pool relaxing day exercising my knees and arms in the water. Nice attention at the front desk and very efficient general management. I full recommend everyone this place. Thank you dears.

What a disgrace this place has turned into. Fusion should be ashamed of themselves for what they have done to this place. The gym ceiling has fallen through, none of the equipment works and the pool is constantly closed. The management is awful in the place, and should all be fired starting with the general manager who sends generic emails to any complaints. Haringey need to step in and sort this place out as it’s such a great facility. However it is run by a bunch a cowboys who haven’t got a clue what they are doing. You should all hang your heads in shame for what you have done to this place. If I could give zero I would.

My one star isn't necessarily a reflection of the whole complex, as I didn't get past the front desk. Having spent all morning trying to get through by phone to check opening times for the lido, only to be told that I could find all I needed to know on the website (where it says "There are no available items for the next 7 days" under the lido timetable button) but I could press 1 to talk to someone (and after several rings, I was told I couldn't talk to anyone), I decided to walk to Park Road, where I was disappointed to be told by the delightful girl on reception that the heating was broken and people had been complaining. I was very grateful to her for being so honest, but why could that not be put on the website, along with other useful information like opening times? So I walked home again...

Visited this gorgeous Lido for the first time today. The pool was lovely and clean and spacious. The woman on the service desk however was very rude and lacked customer service skills which made my swim less enjoyable. Considering it’s £8 a swim I expect a lot more. The lockers were unavailable so you just have to leave your stuff on the side and hope it doesn’t get stolen. There are 6 showers but you can only use 4 of them with distancing measures and they aren’t private- they face the pool and are outside. Other than that it was a good swim and so nice to be outside in a spacious pool on the city.

I went swimming at this centre and it was quite a pleasant experience. Although it doesn’t have a clear separate pool from kids to adults nobody gets hurt and there are many staff along the sidelines. However, one thing is that the centre doesn’t provide hairdryers which means whenever you come out from swimming you can’t properly dry your hair (also bring your own shower necessities).

I thought my local pool (a Better one, not Fusion) was bad for confusion and lack of communication but turns out they all seem to be like this. Firstly the ticketing seemed a bit odd in that it's a one-hour slot and a limited number of people but all in the same hour which tends to suggest congestion, especially if people all arrive at the start of the slot At my local pool it's more rolling 10 min slots. I arrived and wandered into the changing rooms. No one said a word to me or wanted to see my ticket/booking, fortunately I had a £1 coin for the locker. I changed and headed to the pool. Which was completely deserted with a sign saying 'do not enter if a lifeguard isn't present'. I walked through to Reception, in my costume, to be nonchalantly told there was something wrong with the pH balance of the water. Thanks for the heads up (either at Reception, at the entrance to the changing room or, given we have all booked online, via email or text) There was apparently the option to use the outdoor pool which as it was a nice day I decided to do. There didn't seem to be any concern about capacity/Covid and again no one checking any tickets. I got a little sunburnt as wasn't expecting to be outdoors. Then I couldn't find a way to get back inside without going via Reception again, without even a towel as that was inside the indoor changing room. I told two people about the indoor pool being closed as they got changed so it wasn't just me. All in all a very strange and unwelcoming experience. I did like the pool though.

I took my 12 yr old grandson swimming as a birthday treat recently only to be charged £16 then when we got by the pool the lifeguard told me we could only swim for 15 mins then family time starts this was at 3pm ! The diving boards were closed which was a real disappointment. The showers were absolutely boiling and were unusable without getting 3rd degree burns. I wont be going back anytime soon!

The lido is a piece of heaven and keeps me sane - I will never complain about anything ...and neither do the staff - even in the coldest wettest weather when you are the only one swimming and the lonely lifeguard has to stay and shiver getting cold and wet watching you...

Unfortunately my husband and I had to cancel our joint gym membership here due to lack of hygiene and no functioning toilets in the ladies' change room. There is also no water fountain or water dispenser upstairs in the gym. Not worth the price they ask for a membership! The outdoor pool is lovely, which is why it warrants one star.

Toddler swim more often than not cancelled ’at the last minute’ (no text warning - their systems don’t work). It’s a very reliable way to disappoint your child. Consistently very poor service over two years, with us staying on due to lack of alternatives, which is now thankfully changing. Update: New manager has led to a lot of improvements. Finally putting what is a good facility to good use. Thank you!

DO NOT USE PARK ROAD LEISURE CENTRE They will take your full membership and you will have problems booking classes/sauna etc. This means you will have to attend the centre each time you want to book with the likelihood the classes are fully booked. If you do manage to book you will be unable to use your swipe card to gain entrance this means they will allow you to walk freely into the gate so no indication you have attended your class. This means you will be charged for non attendance and you will then have to pay for that class (even though you have full membership) before you can book another class. You will be met by d,d and d and they will tell you they cannot give you the managers name or they will pretend they are the manager and smirk in your face. Some of the staff are unable to rectify the issue and I don't blame them it is not their fault but they should have better customer service skills and speak to one person and deal with the situation. I don't know whether a smirk is because they are embarrassed or what not but it doesn't help a situation. I have asked for my full month's membership back as they repeatedly breach their side of the contract. I was only attending for Mel's classes her classes are the best. The star is for her classes actually 5*. This filthy dirty centre gets 0 if I could leave 0. Go to virgin active it's more expensive but won't raise your stress levels

Poor service. No toilet paper in toilets. Was stuck in the sauna and couldn't get out. The door was jammed. The staff don't care, and I tried to get a gym member called 6 weeks ago and only received a call back today. You also have to pay to use the parking even if you are paying to use their facilities. Definitely dong recommend and wouldn't go again. Asked about swimming lessons, gym membership and reception staff didn't have a clue. First impressions count!

First time I give 1 star review but the customer service it's terrible. Tried to called yesterday few times but nobody picked up, sent an email and nothing... Called this morning to check if I could cancel my booking for this afternoon or at least the one for tomorrow but I've been told that I should have read the T&C when booking as it is not refundable, fair enough, but the the link with the T&C isn't working on the app and neither from the laptop! Please fix this issue or write clearly when booking that the charge is not refundable. As it is not clearly stated and link is not working it is not fair to deny the refund.

It was my first time here today as one of my friends who lives close by to it recommended it to me. I walked in and was instantly welcomed by Jackie’s friendly smile which eased my anxiety by a mile. I was nervous but she made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I explained to her it was my first time and I (obviously) didn’t know where anything was. She was more than happy to help and directed me to where I needed to go. She was the best part of my experience, but it doesn’t end here. I was here for the lido today and considering it’s outdoors, it was very clean and quite busy! (Despite the cold weather) the pool was very warm approx. 22-24 degrees. The pool is massive and everyone swims in lanes so you won’t bump into anybody. Showers and toilets are clean and well maintained. I had a small peak at the gym so I have an idea of how it looks like for when I next come, it was spacious and loads of different kinds of machines available. Thank you for a great experience I will be back

5 stars for the lido 1 star for the main pool. Biohazard. Broken showers, smell of urine in the changing rooms, rubbish everywhere and mould on the walls. Training pool is great but rarely actually open (1/2 hours a day). Such a shame because it probably was once great and well maintained - Fusion running it into the ground. Needs money spent on it.

This place is inaccessible- the website doesn't work properly meaning sessions can't be booked and nobody picks up the phone and so we don't even know if we can turn up for swimming. So even though we live 10 minutes away, we go all the way to highbury for swimming (there booking system works and they pick up the phone if there is a problem you need to call about). It's a shame.

The manager at this centre is horrible, she has a terrible attitude I would give 0 stars if I could, the staff member is a liar I think she is too scared of her manager to talk the truth. The manager needs to refresher on customer service she lacks empathy and has no idea to speak to adults or kids. I have paid for swimming lessons and I'm deeply sadden that I have to remain here with my daughter till the new year. As they would not issue me a refund. There only saving grace is the swim instructor a lovely young lady who eventually made my stressed out 10 year old feel at ease. If it was not for her I would count the £65 I paid a loss and never return.

Worst maintenance of their pools, constant issues with swim classes, whack excuses as to why they cannot maintain the pool for more than a week. The management barely apologises and we have not received refunds for the MONTHS of classes missed; instead we are offered a “make up” class during the work week.

I went at lunchtime during the week and it was busy but it was mostly adults and there were a lot of swimmers but everyone (in the fast lane anyway) got on with it. £8 is a lot for a 30 minute swim though, hopefully once the council gets rid of Fusion a fairer pricing structure will be put in place.

Whoever hires the security needs to be sacked. Called my sister all sorts of names when she entered and instead of trying to calm things down and ignore her when leaving he started to call her names and threatened to "f-up" my whole family. Honestly the pool was fine but the security was shambolic. Definitely does not enjoy the job he does.

Useless. The website is an absolute mess and doesn't work on a phone or a laptop. I am not even going to talk about the app which is also useless. I decided to go visit because I really wanted to swim and I got the WORSE type of customer service. Rude, unprofessional and clueless about questions asked. The person who "served" me yawned at my face several times (no mask) and was of no help. Get one star for the perfect act of "computer says no" I've seen in years.

No advertising of changed opening times in between Christmas and New Year? - just arrived and whole complex locked on Friday 29th Jan at 6pm Friday post work? Poor communication and also poor access for Haringey residents how are we meant to stay active?

  • 1/5 Rebecca S. 3 months ago on Google New
I just paid for membership to use the Lido and was advised you have to book everything online through their app now. Which was fine at the weekend, but now I've discovered despite the 'opening times' on google being till 9pm that the lido is actually only open from 8am - 3.15pm in the afternoon which is totally useless if, like most people, you have a job. So I guess I'll be cancelling. Would also add that whilst the pool is fine, the showers are pretty grotty with mould etc and the sauna feels like it might collapse at any moment. Wish Better would take this place over and give it the love it deserves.

I visited this center for the first time today. I booked to use the steam room and I enjoyed it and found it most relaxing. Very hot but lovely to keep popping out to cool down with the enclosed showers. I found the room is a little small. The shower facilities were good and clean. Look forward in trying the sauna when it's fixed hopefully soon

Lovely lido heated big pool and a baby pool. U get a 2 hour slot which u have to book online. Also a little hut cafe to get hot paninis, crisps, ice-creams and drinks hot or cold!!

It's very frustrating as I really enjoy some of the instructors and classes at this centre but the management is terrible! It also seems to have significantly deteriorated in the last few months. The pool is frequently closed and no information is provided. A week ago I even walked out in my costume to an empty pool before being told! The same happens with classes. Too many times now I've travelled there only to find out a session is cancelled. The staff on reception couldn't care less, they don't answer the phone, respond to emails or ever suggest any kind of discount or reimbursement despite not being able to use membership. The 2 stars are for the instructors whose classes are great and who are also treated terribly by management.

I had a real good experience at this fitness centre, i had an issue and an older lady (staff) who i don't see there often was not so helpful. I kind of mentioned it to another member of staff who happened to be the manager Jess, i did not know she was the manager whilst conversing with her. Jess was amazing she listened to my issue and really helped me out and i am thankful to her. The actual staff who are their on a regular basis are super cool and lovely. A nice little team at this centre, the lifeguards and front reception staff, always helpful, nice vibes - they work well together, I'm thoroughly enjoying coming to this centre.

  • 1/5 Peter S. 2 years ago on Google
The system of this company is so outdated. I have zero control over my membership, the staff is not authorised to do anything for you and is not really helpful many times. Management is unreachable because there is no phone and if you email them you get no response. Additionally if you want to freeze or cancel your membership they need a 30 day notice via their email service and never get back to you and just continue charging you.
