ok where should i start..weights are wrongly placed and have to go around looking. Gym stank with no proper ventilation and the staffs were not around much even when they were there they gave off not a friendly vibe. Well and its so crowded to have a proper workout session. Will be giving up the membership next week!

Rude and unhelpful staff, do not make you feel welcome at all. I have Plus membership for about two weeks now and was trying to access the gym at around 20:00 yesterday. My pin was not working so I buzzed the assistance button. Bearing in mind there were two trainers sat opposite the staff access door having a chat and could clearly see I was having trouble getting in and did not come to help or send someone else to help. Five minutes after repeatedly ringing it someone comes and opens it. They do not acknowledge me, are on their phone and not wearing puregym clothing. We walk past each other as I am entering to talk to the trainers opposite me before he calls me back, saying I shouldā€™ve spoken to him. I told him I didnā€™t even know he was a member of staff as he didnā€™t acknowledge me or wear puregym clothes, no ā€œhow can I help youā€ and I did show him my membership. He told me that ā€œdidnā€™t matterā€ and that I ā€œshouldā€™ve spoken to him regardlessā€ even though I told him I had no idea he worked there and couldā€™ve been anyone. I was told to get back out and when I asked if he could help me he laughed shook his head and walked off outside presumably to leave. At this point another customer told me ā€œheā€™s always that rudeā€. I rang the assistance button for another ten minutes whilst the trainers are still sat opposite the door until a member of staff enters the door. I walk behind them and try to ask all three at once for help and am immediately told I ā€œshouldnā€™t come through thereā€ and ā€œneed to wait until someone comesā€ in not a friendly tone at all, I explain I have been waiting a very long time and my Pin isnā€™t working and Iā€™m told ā€œit doesnā€™t matter, you need to wait until someone comes downā€. I could not believe this is the tone being taken with someone who pays a lot of money (Ā£33) a month to access these gyms. Not friendly at all even though they could see I was waiting patiently for a very long time. I had my membership up on my phone and was clearly not trying to sneak in as I went directly to staff, however I cannot wait around all evening as I work nights and had to get a move on. Fortunately one of the trainers then did help me access the gym. I have contacted member services regarding this. I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Clean gym with OK selection of equipment, but always way way way too busy for weightlifting. The 3 squat racks and 2 bench presses are always queued up. Have tried coming here at all times of the day, always end up having to wait an extra 10-15 minutes to get my workout done, and usually on backup machines etc that I would not have preferred. Cheap and cheerful, but a bit too much for me. Will be going back to previous gym even though itā€™s further away.

Good gym to come and work out. Have many PT available you can see on PT board and contact them to private lessons to all people and all necessities. Whit two floor big studio and spin studio great cardio area, I think all what you need for training is here!

It's a good budget gym but a few things have been incredibly frustrating. A week ago, the Sunday Pump class at 9.15 which I booked a space on was completely full at 9.10 when I came to the Studio. PureGym allows 30 people to book this class I think, but there was zero space left in the Studio when I came and there were only about 15-20 people there - everyone had a mat, a barbell and a stepping platform so anyone who has seen the Studio will immediately be able to imagine just how unrealistic it is to fit 30 people in - and these classes are very popular timing-wise so get fully booked. So I had to just leave the class and worked out by myself but it was really disappointing. I will come a lot earlier next time but that means there will probably be other people who cannot find space. Also, the app shows me error messages very often and once I had to use my PIN to enter the gym as I could not even access the entry QR code. Otherwise the gym is pretty clean and the staff have been nice, although I agree with previous reviews that other clients' weights etiquette could be better!

    1. There is parking. Some spaces not available at a certain time but Saturday morning was empty. 2. Clean and spacious gym. Lots of equipment to use. Only thing, free weights section could be more spacious but it's ok when empty. Only 1 EZ bar I could find. 3. Couldn't find the toilets but there was a shower room. 4. Lots of water and energy drinks available. 5. All the lockers were locked when there was hardly anyone in the gym lol.

It's a good gym with a lot of equipment. With Covid-19 they have instituted a policy of wiping down the equipment you use before and after use, which I have seen staff not do. When it is crowded it can feel difficult to find the equipment you need, otherwise a great gym.

Absolutely ridiculous that they advertised a 3day pass closing specific days, whilst also advertising being open 365 days of the year 24/7 to turn up to the gym being closed!! The doors being covered in red ā€œLOCKERS ARE NOT IN USE TAPEā€ very disappointed also not brand standards at all.

I visited, correction, wanted to visit the gym to find out about memberships and to see the gym itself and the facilities. In fact, it's impossible even to enter, to speak to a human being, let alone see the place. It reminds me of a reverse of a prison. You are simply not welcome unless you are willing to part with your money online without seeing what you are signing up for. It's difficult to understand the thinking of the marketing department of PureGym in creating such a disaster zone of an entrance to the gym in East End Road, Finchley. (See the photo.) I'll need to check out at least one other gym in the chain, but there is no way I'm joining such a hell hole. *** UPDATE *** I have since visited the North Finchley branch, where I was able to talk to a human being, who showed me around, explained to me everything. I have joined North Finchley AND engaged a PT as well. Your loss Finchley.

If you need a personal trainer I canā€™t recommend Kal highly enough. He is so knowledgable and every session is diverse. A lovely guy and very personable and encouraging.

Nice gym, two floors and a large variety of machines for virtually any exercise. Always enough cable machines and plenty of free weights and available barbells. Always clean with helpful PTs everywhere.

Was very overwhelming on my first day but the induction class was helpful. Personally prefer quiet gyms; and the "quiet" times are still very busy here but the machines are available with a short wait. Great gym!

What a great concept. I have been a member on and off since they launched in London. If your focus is weights and machines, this is my preferred option. 24 hour. Low cost. Well stocked. Don't expect a sauna or pool.

Arrived just after 7am and was pleased to see that the gym was occupied by a manageable number of people. The equipment is always clean, tidy, and well maintained, which makes for a pleasant workout. Great place to go and exercise or weight train whatever is ones preference.

I find myself coming here more and more often rather choosing the other branches. I think I like the car park next to the entrance and quick access to the main lifting area, which has now been upgraded on top of that. I also like the training area upstairs at the very end round the corner - it feels secluded and pleasent to use. Otherwise, I go to Crouch End and sometimes to North Finchley or Southgate.

As someone who is really anxious attending gym alone, the staff are friendly, welcoming and are always on hand to answer any questions you make have. Iā€™d personally like to mention Emily, Rachel, Oscar, Brian and Jorge who I have had classes with and they take their time to explain each exercise and will correct incorrect posture or positioning to make sure you donā€™t injure yourself.

The upgrade is dreadful. The gym is much worse than before and the studio is practically useless for yoga & pilates classes. The lights are too bright, the strip lighting is terrible and there are fewer mirrors than before. The majority of studio users have complained to the management, but apparently they are unable to change anything. None of the PTs or freelance teachers were consulted before the changes were implemented. Every class starts with people complaining, so time is lost to that.

  • 4/5 Violet N. 7 months ago on Google
I really like the new refurbished version of the gym. Looks very premium and clean. The only thing is that studio space for classes became very dark and for some reason quite hot. I don't feel like the aircon is powerful enough, even when it's working. Also there are no mirrors on the side walls, I hope that's only the case of finishing the work on the new improved gym standards.

Gym is undergoing a mayor refit. This is well needed as equipment was becoming rather tired. Instead of leaving the gym open with minimal equipment available and frustrated members the gym should have been closed. Donā€™t really fancy breathing paint fumes and dust whilst training anyway. I did contact pure gym for a refund of my monthly membership fee but that cant be bothered to reply.

Pleeeeaase can you sort out the men's shower temp it just constantly goes warm and cold during every shower. Never hot. Also it's nice and cool in some workout areas but always too hot in others.

Good value, classes and equipment. Always a room for improvement, like mixing up The morning classes, and to level up class quality to be like Oscar, Samar, Justina, Junior ect. All in, happy with the club.

Its a nice gym in the area.Car park on site is a plus.Don't know why there were some parking spaces saying "No Parking 10pm-6am".Its a 24 hour gym with entry controlled by QR code or Gym Membership code.Nice shower facilities.Get your padlock and toiletries. There is a Hydra Massage room with 2 chairs. Each session allows to operate the chair for 10mins.

PLEASE improve the smell in here - the smell of sweat is just so annoying :( Use more ventilation, windows, or maybe even just air purifiers or scent fresheners! Once itā€™s fixed Iā€™ll rate 5 stars for sure cos thatā€™s the only thing I hate here so far

Good gym! Better than North Finchley by far - always clean and looked after. Iā€™m looking forward to seeing a transformation in 6 months

I have been going to this gym for years. The changing rooms are always really clean and the staff friendly. I would recommend Aeroebics with Lucy, Combat with Charmaine and Boxfit with Junior. Oscar for Spin and Pump.

Really enjoying all the classes at Puregym Finchley. Oscar's Cycle, Pump and Circuits classes this evening were all amazing!!! I'm going to try his Boxing classes next.

Very good gym, plenty of parking. Good equipment when it comes to free weights and cardio equipment but there is a lack of weight machines on Level one.

  • 3/5 saransh m. 2 years ago on Google
The gym is big and spacious but they've not utilised the available space well. The machines are less, need to wait for almost every machine irrespective of you go at peak or non-peak hours. Cardio section is unnecessarily too much as per me (but everyone has different choices)

  • 5/5 Dekel Ben Z. 1 year ago on Google
I've been going there for Ā±5 months. It's clean and the price for off peak hours membership is very fair. I can't say one bad word about the gym itself. People being people, there are some things which could be better: * Dumbbells are scattered all over the place. * The most annoying thing- some users made the lockers private, leaving their padlocks on for weeks (I'm talking about you, locker #10 user) BTW, I don't think that the response here of "leave a note in the feedback box.." is acceptable. We leave our feedback here. If it matters to the Puregym responder, they should do something about it. Not try to roll it on to someone else.

Absolutely love this gym club!!! Facilities are clean and tidy. Smells good in the morning as always as such and has good ambience. All the morning classes are fun and energetic. Staff are friendly, from the managers through PTs and facility house keepers. Plenty of machines and equipments. It's just kinda annoying sometimes when some members leave equipments scattered. Still a great gym all around!

Daria, one of the best trainers at PureGym! We attend group classes and the way she coaches is wonderful. Honestly I attended few other group sessions, but the way she teaches is amazing. Overall the gym gets fairly crowded at peak times, but that's alright.

Itā€™s good gym They have a big space I think better Put shampoo and body wash in the bathroom .

  • 3/5 mohammed f. 2 years ago on Google
Not a bad gym I only stayed in the free weights room so not sure how upstairs is but my only issue in free weights room was the dumbells being all over the place, this happens in majority of the puregyms like why can't people place their weights back! Its not hard and so frustrating for people wanting to use them after. Also don't like this old shower system where have to keep pressing the button every so often

  • 5/5 Conleth G. 2 years ago on Google
Great gym, friendly staff, loads of equipment. Only thing to add is that I think there should be more mirrors in front of each squat rack/Smith machines - personally feel more secure being able to see my knee positions in a mirror when squatting. Other than that fantastic gym

  • 5/5 R ā€œMafiā€ C. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing gym. Spacious and equipment up to standards. Good covid cleaning practice. There are minor faults on some machines (eg buttons not working on treadmill). Staff are very helpful and approachable. Gym can get very busy. The free weights area can be intimidating when it is busy too. I advise for first time users or those who feel uncomfortable in the gym to go with classes or personal trainer to become more comfortable. I have had a few sessions with Jorge who is amazing. Teaches you proper form and exercises that I would not have done. Very approachable and helps push your limits no doubt. I'm sure the others are great too.
