I got there for my 11am appointment and everywhere was hot congested and jam packed with people sitting on the floor no seats, children crying everyone looked distressed. I had to stand for hours because there wasn’t a seat and I went with children. Only one person checking documents of more than 300 people!! The process is not working, change it!! Employ and train young people that are agile and passionate to work, fill up all the counters with people who are ready to work!! The male toilet bulb light went off and people had to use their phone flashlight to go into the toilet!! Let the waiting room upstairs be partitioned and add more biometrics stand. Can’t we scan our documents to you and just come in for Biometrics?? The woman collecting postal envelope left the till to go chat at some point?? Let at least 3 people attend to collection of postal envelope. One of the clock wasn’t even working!! Please you need to do an overhaul of the process, redecorate the place and employ more people in the UK or outsource instead of bringing few people from Nigeria. Make provision for wheelchair users and buggy users it’s the law and right thing to do! We finished the whole process past 4pm exhausted and tired after traveling in from outside London. If people don’t have NIN don’t let them in, tell them at the door so they don’t waste their time and others before realizing they can’t be attended to . Reduce the number of appointments to fit the seating capacity of the building. Overall, It wasn’t a desirable experience at at all.

This review is based on my experience today (25/5/22). Whilst some improvements have been made to the epileptic services I think the embassy still has a long way to go in being at par with the rest. The service is below the par and It's an embarrassment to us all. Problems: 1. Why would I have to spend 5 hours at the embassy just to submit a payment slip, NIN slip, old passport and a postal order and do my biometric when I had an appointment booked to do so? By the time I was called to the counter, It took just a minute to collect those documents and the taking of biometrics took another 2 minutes too. Clearly, something is wrong somewhere. 2. The whole place needs a contemporary look. The same old counter desk and no adequate seats or maybe too many people for the available able seats. Suggestions : 1. Stick to the appointment and honour the slot. 2. Seeing over 300 people for biometrics daily is a recipe for disaster especially when you don't have the manpower and facility to handle it. I suggest 100 biometrics per day. 3. Why don't you allow some documents to be uploaded online to cut down the workload for staff and the time spent at the embassy. “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change” -Albert Einstein Thank you.

The service has improved not fully satisfied though as fewer of the issues you encounter when you go there has declined. The problem l'm having now is the passport. I went there 3 weeks ago for my daughter's passport, did everything that we asked to do and we have not received it yet. Made constant phone call and email to them, all in vain. Anyone to help or suggestions. Hello my people, good news to share with you guys. My daughter's passport has arrived 🙌🏾 😀. I just hope that things will get better and better. Thanks to all of you who have made this possible....

The staff were very polite and helpful. You can tell they are working extra long hours and using outdated technology and processes however, they are determined to succeed with what they have. Had my appointment on the 3rd of May but it was a bank holiday in Nigeria so I phoned the embassy few weeks later and they advise I can come over as long as I have the original appointment letter. I went there on the 22nd of July at about 9am, met a long queue at the entrance which quickly disappeared by the time I return from a 10 minutes trip to a nearby post office as I needed to get money order and return envelope. There was a nice gentleman at the entrance selling money order and return envelope, I was not able to buy from him as I needed cash and had none with me. Came back from the post office and went inside and within 2 hours I was done and ready to leave. I was number two hundred and twenty something on that day and there was no issue of anyone jumping queue. The process was straightforward, you get a number on entrance and when it gets to your turn you get called forward for document verification and collection. If everything is okay, you are moved upstairs for biometrics. There is a waiting area upstairs and your name will be called when it gets to your turn and that is it. I was surprised how smoothly everything ran and just this morning my renewed Nigerian passport arrived. In all it was a positive experience for me.

Well it's a whole day job forget about appointment times. And on getting there u will be sent back to purchase a postal order and envelope whether u like it or not (and you won't know till you get to the entrance). Then you will be made to sign (whether you like it or not) that you authorize that your passport be sent through the postal order that you have purchased and should it get lost or damaged, you will be fully responsible. Case closed. You can't negotiate. Can you pick up yourself? NO! And the guy I politely asked was rude, unprofessional, and took my question personal. I wish I will not have to renew my passport again. And yes, you will be there the whole day, don't book anything else for that day.

Building is easy to locate though not buggy/baby friendly if you're going with a kid/kids. Either go with a friend/partner to help with the buggy/documents (etc) because there are stairs and no space in the waiting areas. Staff friendly enough. Definitely have to get there early, however, process was pretty straightforward though crowded. Spent a total of 6 hours today to sort out capturing. Have a pen, very important. Got there 7am and already, there was a queue at least 80 people long

I got there just before 9am.The queue was long but we were allowed in around 9.30am as long as you had an appointment. The process was fast inside with the checking of documents. The only delay was with the capturing of biometrics, the system was down apparently. When the system was up , biometrics resumed and it was relatively fast. After that had to submit the postal envelope. The staff were cordial..surprisingly. I was in and out in about 2hrs 30minutes. I got my passport in 6 days or so.Make sure you print all the necessary documents, appointment details, passport application, payment slip ,passport acknowledgement slip , get £20 postal order from the post office and a £7.95 special delivery postal envelope ,your NIN slip and old passport.Bring a pen very important. Overall my experience was not bad,but they can improve on their services.

Went in here with the family for an appointment and it was disappointing to find out how uncoordinated the process is still. There was a long queue at the doors and loads of people were given the same appointment time which did not make sense given the fact there aren't enough hands to process those applications at the same time. A lot needs to change. The process needs serious improvements.

Have to come back to Nigeria Embassy again because my renewed passport was not delivered, no one bothered to send an email or call to tell you the reason. Quite surprised to find empty seats today. Hopefully its delivered this time around as I was told to go home Update: returned later in January 2023for collection and was told they would deliver but never did but meet a queue and my passport was not even printed yet that’s like one year after application, I ended up crying and going home because of how rude the lady that sort out passport was

International Passport Processing: This is easily the best experience I've had with any Nigerian office, both in Nigeria and abroad. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. Queues were well managed. It took about 1.5 hours between walking into the building and walking out having completed the entire process.

The worst experience of my life. The staff were extremely rude especially the man at the door. They all need several sessions on customer service. When are Nigerians going to be better human beings???? That place left me in tears today - horrible, very horrible set of people working there. Absolutely disgraceful. If there was an option for minus (-) 1000, that’s the score I would give them for today.

I have been expecting my renewed passport for 5 weeks now, since 17th October 2023. We were told it would take 2-3 weeks to receive the new passport via the special delivery envelope we provided during the biometric appointment date. They don't answer calls to the number provided on their website and there is zero customer service to get update from. This is completely unacceptable! Can someone please address this matter; and I gather it has become their way of doing things. It's a disgrace!

My appointment was Tuesday, spent almost 5hrs to have my biometrics taken. (Could be better). It was issued the next day (issue date on passport). I am very pleased I received it today (Friday) having been sent yesterday (48hrs after biometrics) and delivered using my self addressed Royal mail special delivery by 1pm (purchase and take along with you). The processing time is impressive! The website has all relevant instructions including need for postal order of £20 (administrative fee). Based on my experience: 1. 10yr passport option is available at the UK high commission, more pricey but worth it. 2. Ensure you have a functioning NIN registration(people were turned back because the NIN was not "activated" and therefore the process could not continue 3. Take application form, payment slip, appointment slip, £20 postal order, self addressed Royal mail special delivery envelope (if sending multiple passports, account for weight in envelope purchase). 500g envelope is about £8 4. Do not attend on a day not on your appointment. Someone was informed the details would not be available for processing on their system Overall, I commend the staff of Nigeria High Commission, London for the improvements in the last 5 years since I last used the service.

Although many people are given the same appointment time, the staff at the venue try really hard to manage the crowd and process everyone. Even some people came without an appointment and were seen and processed. The biggest issue is people trying to cut the queue, lack of patience and wanting to show that they have a connection that can help within the Nigerian High Commission. As long as you go there understanding that the processing time take about 3 hours, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Sincerely, it was a good experience. They open 9am and close at 1pm. I arrived at about 9:20am, I'm glad we didn't stay outside on the queue for too long cos it was winter. They tried to get people in as soon as possible, so far You have the necessary documents. The staffs were polite and attended to people as quick as they could. We finished our documentation and capturing by noon but the traffic from central London to west London was moving quite slow so I got home later. Overall, the experience was good just that there was no access for wheelchairs and baby strollers.

I had previously heard terrible things about the Embassy but I would honestly say I had a good experience. The service was good , maybe because the purpose of my visit was for a TC. I cannot tell for those applying for other services. The man who attended to us was friendly but did his job in good time. It was a bit crowded in the Visa and passport section but seats were moving quickly. Aside the service , the only downside was the environment was very poor. The place was shabby looking with tapes on what could have been CCTV, the drink machine was not working. No Avenue to charge your mobile phone. Guess they are saving on electricity, which is absurd. There are couple of unused office space which can generate income for the embassy or someone. I would suggest an IT shop to save people going back and forth to make copies or print documents. We can do better, just a little imagination can make our embassy more welcoming

I am highly impressed by what I experienced in the Commission today. Opened 0900 on the dot to attend to customers. Staff are highly respectful and efficient. They were patient to answer customers and NO MIDDLEMEN. Even online application was easy and payment method adequate. Charges for renewal had reduced ($77 I paid) and I did not spend more than one hour at the Commission. I am proud to be a Nigerian looking at these services. In fact the type of follower-ship we have depends on the type of leadership. We should commend the new Commissioner for a job well-done. He had reformed the Nigeria House. May God bless him. I wish this change is reflected in other overseas missions and even in Nigeria itself. I can score them 95%.

An ordeal to say the very least. 10 years on, very little change. Close to tears from the minute i started queing. Some door staff - Please do better, talk to people like human beings, printers- stop charging extortionate amounts to print a few pages out in your service centre (it's clear you pocket that money for yourselves), make your requirements clear online before we trek down there on a work day, losing more money!!!!! Adjust your temperatures in the building.... health and safety risks everywhere including no lift for those on crutches and no wheelchair access, crowds of people with not much ventilation. Again door staff- STOP shouting at and being rude to people outside making them write things against an outside wall, outside is NOT a reception area if you want admin to occur there before we can even get in, distribute tables and pens outdoors. Better still, let us know we need to do certain things during the online application process so that people are not stressed at the door!!! Listen and be polite. It's so stressful and painful going there, only necessity will make me ever ever ever go here. This process should be remote and online, we've moved on, keep up! Why do i need so many bits of paper when its all on my login? I love being Nigerian in so many ways but this is embarrassing. So ashamed.

The incompetence of their service here is just appalling. I applied for a renewal since June!!!!! No update on the website, no number to call for inquiry. Nothing!!!! Planning on going there this Friday, hopefully I get a good excuse or better still my passport better be ready and waiting for pick up. Honestly Nigerian immigration London brings back terrible memories of why one left Nigeria I the first place!!!! Just sad!!

The crowd here would scare the living daylight out of you but don’t be afraid nor fret. You can be sure you’ll attended to but endeavour to have all your documents ready including your NIN number document, postal order, expired passport, postage envelope from post office for the postage of your passport, printed form, appointment document and so on. If your documents aren’t complete, you might find yourself returning there next day to start all over again. To be honest, the service l had here was exceptional though l had to return the next day because of documentation. On the second day, l waited for quite a long time because l wasn’t aware l had to inform them about being there the day before. Immediately l did, my papers were taken upstairs for capturing. The 5 star given is well deserved. God bless you all.

Thought was going to be a little bit long but not almost the whole day.......... Come on! You'll waste your whole day there. Rude staff. The toilets that smelt from constant use. The only friendly person, I saw there was the lady at the passport waiting room, the second day I went back there on the 9th of December. Very professional and respectful. Wish all staff were like her. At the capturing of the fingerprints, the man there, were black glasses , speaking Yoruba and wearing traditional clothes, almost bald headed. He seems to being paid to be rude, I was trying to be friendly despite all. But he just brought out the rude side of me for no reason, like we were already quarrelling before I sat there. They are already currupted , when they avoid following the list and order of people as they came in , but instead still try, proofing to be professional . How dare. Also I saw the rudeness shawn to a person who could clearly be they're mother. How come, why? Such a disgusting treatment overall ..... Not all of them but the majority yeah!

No point booking a time slot. Please just try and get there 7am so you can be in front when they open. Every staff speaks rudely including the securities. Dirtiest toilet I have ever seen You pay hidden £20 by postal order which you only realise when you get there. You must spend your while day there that is for sure. You receive a form.and all they say IS.SIGN THERE.they don't give you option if you want your passport posted or not.just sign that you have given us go ahead to post it.and you have to rush to post office to buy special delivery envelope. poor service

I would like to thank the New High Commissioner, my husband and I were able to use our expired passport to travel to Nigeria in June 2021, because we could not get a date to renew our passport even though we applied for renewal in January 2021. We received appointment date for yesterday 2 August 2021. Our experience was a lot better than the last time we went in May 2021. We got there at 8.30am and completed my process at 10.15am. My new renewed passport was delivered to my house today within 24 hours. I pray and hope this will be the experience of many Nigerians now and years to come Thanks to All the staff and especially the new management . Special thanks to Mr Duke for entertaining us outside while waiting in the queue God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Better Service than what we've been told. Finished fairly early enough. Will be better if staff are more courteous. Felt like being in Lagos Nigeria once within the premises with the attitude of the staff. The commission could invest in training staff or better still employ people that at least trained here as they can help increase the efficiency and improve the image of the commission. Another important aspect for the commission to look into is to invest in building a database so that people don't have to return physically every time for a renewal.

Always check the website for last minute updates. Arrived for 'fast track' process only to be informed they were no longer doing daily fast track applications. Thankfully, the Commissioner was compassionate, saying that today fast track applicants (and there were many of us) would be seen after those who had appointments. I was third in queue, having arrived from Swindon on 5 am coach (at Nigerian High Commission by 5:50 am). But, as I was fast track on a non fast track day, I didn't get processed until 11:30 am. The long wait in the queue is tedious! Today, things outside were chaotic and disorganized because of new mandate and 10 day closure. Nonetheless, once inside, I was all done in 1 hour. This system could be improved, especially with people travelling from all over the UK. In addition, clearer instructions during processing would be helpful. Let's see how soon my passport arrives. Again, be warned, before you travel to the Nigerian High Commission, you must check last minute updates so as to avoid stress or disappointment.

No appointments despite appointments chosen on website. You'll waste your whole day there. Long process which should have simplified and updated by now. Rude staff. Lack of ventilation. One toilet that smelt from constant use. Inadequate seating i.e. not enough and cramped seating. The best employee there is the lady with the headscarf. Very professional and respectful. Wish all staff were like her.

In my opinion, the embassy needs lots and lots of improvement still. Came today to renew passports and we waited for 4 hours before being called upstairs to wait and additional hour. This place needs more staff and more space to make it easier to get through. It also needs a makeover too, it looks the same as it did years ago

I should give 0 stars. The staff were so rude especially one Mr Walter. They were so uncoordinated, the service was total rubbish. This was the third time of coming here all the way from Newcaslte and yet the disappointment gets worse after every visit. The environment is so tense and unbearable. There is no respect for time, no obvious rules available. Please, something has to be done about this terrible service, the conduct makes me ashamed to be a Nigerian.

Terrible place. If it was possible to give zero stars I would. Do not expect any kind of consular service when you are here. Other serious countries treat their citizens when abroad with respect. Not Nigeria. Expect to be treated like scum from your own country. Expect for your time to be wasted and expect the same inefficiency. They have brought that same ugly Nigerian mentality with them and apparently to other embassies around the world too. Those 2 men manning the door are on a power trip and are so rude. It will not be well with them. Everything about the process is a nightmare and extortionate.

It was very crowded, probably because it is the only centre available. Wait time was roughly 3 hours(you can reduce your wait time by going prepared with required copies of documents). Thankfully the staff were not rude and did their best to make sure people were attended to🙂

Despite a few issues and plenty of room for improvement to reduce frustrations I have to say the process was a lot better than I expected. They even found my uncollected passport from 2017-thats over 5 years ago! After the hours of moving from one queue to another I actually received my passport just 2 days later. I have to give credit where it's due, well done guys! Although not perfect you are certainly improving!

I was there to renew my int'l passport on 9th August 2023, I did not know anyone there, got there 10:45 and was completely done by 13:46. Took 3 hours for myself, wife and 2 kids. It was not as bad as I imagined to be honest, the staff on duty were quite friendly and professional and surprisingly supportive when One would have expected harsh responses. I was pleased with the service though there are so much room for improvements. Nonetheless, I was happy

Processing passport has really improved, however they had only 2 people serving which needs to be looked into. The area was seriously over capacity. Completed capturing on 8th November and still waiting for passport to arrive even though we were informed it takes 3 weeks to renewal. Due to travel next week and tried to contact but mailbox is full. Although there has been improvement there is a long way to go to avoid people having headache.

When you think the Negative attitude was left in Nigeria then you meet the embassy in London just realize that they are the worst that can happen to you. Lack of communication and response to emails and documents sent to be stamped for over 2 months now with no reason given for the delay. Even at home and abroad Nigeria citizens are always neglected. It's been a long time since I visited Nigerian Embassy London but this last visit was an exceptional and amazing experience for my family. First of all, I incidentally walked into the Nigerian ambassador to the UK who was such a humble and admirable person. He took time to speak with my family especially my little boy. The staff were lovely too. They were very calm and polite with dealing with queries. Most remarkable of all was there thoughtfulness in offering refreshments tand coloring paper to children. I'm so poud of this and pray we continue to see improvements.

Wow! Am really impressed at the service level. Very effective queue management system in place! Went there for passport renewal and booked the 11am slot. Believe me when i say it that my number on the queue was 271. Lo and behold, i was attended to, all processes fully done, and i was out of the embassy before 1:20pm. No hassles, friendly and very courteous staff. This made me proud as a Nigerian.

This country called Nigeria is a failed country home and abroad 😢 high commission is being run by incompetent persons and dodgey businesses, I find it really disgraceful to happen to go to an Asian man corner shop to print out a national identity payment slip. Can indian or Pakistani high commission send their people to a Nigerian man corner shop to print out sensitive documents? Now they came up with a money making scam .IF YOUR NAME ON YOUR NIN CARD DID NOT CORESPOND WITH YOUR PASSPORT, GET READY TO CASH OUT £50 PAID TO THEIR AGENT THAT THEY WILL SEND YOU TO THEM FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE HIGH COMMISION TO FIX IT AND YOU WILL HAVE TO COME BACK AFTER DAYS OR WEEKS .I DO NOT WISH FOR ANYONE TO GO THROUGH THESE UNNECESSARY STRESS. So make sure you get it sorted before going to this horrible place that is being run like a local fish market .there was only one person serving over 300 people downstairs. Every body stressed kids are frustrated, bored and no spaces for them to play, no access fir pushchairs when the can easily knock down the short staircase to a flat ramp People are waiting for hours for their numbers to be called. The can't afford a print out ticket machine that you see in post offices a whole high commission? Tickets are given by unprofessional secure men looking untidy and very rude. Failed country.
