Wonderful hidden gem. I came in here after reading about it as I wanted a nice quiet place to work away from work. I found myself a sofa at one end next to power sockets and made myself at home. I had a coffee to get me going and before I knew it I'd been there for nearly three hours, ploughed through my work and feeling a little hungry. So I got soup of the day, a wonderful tomato and ginger soup of the day and a delicious falafel wrap. I could have done with a bit more soup but that's just me. The soup was just right, not too salty and not a runny, watery soup but a thicker than usual (for tomato) soup. Anyone wanting to get away from the busy city, this place is smack in the middle of things a few minutes walk from both Barbican and Moorgate stations. You'll be able to sit and think, enjoy and coffee, sandwich or cake and even relax, with the mild music in the background. Not the normal blaring music of normal coffee shops or sandwich bars. Wonderful!

My first visit to this cinema was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean and in a nice condition. The cinema was a reasonable size and the seats were very comfortable with ample leg room. The screen was a good size for the room and the quality was what you expect for a cinema. Like a normal cinema there was around 25 minutes of adverts before the film.

Boutique styled cinema with comfortable seats perfect to watch noir movies or the latest blockbusters. Small cafe with food and drinks available in the foyer. The cinema isn't located in the Barbican Centre, but on Beech Road. If coming by underground, cross the road at the lights and walk down Beech Road (through the tunnel) for a few minutes and you'll see it on the left.

Brutalist anonymity the aesthetic antecedent and reference for modern cinema design. Period understatement, dispassionate elegance and functionality the abiding ethos. Theatres spacious with comfortable seating, ample leg-room with a nuanced sound continuum that doesn’t overwhelm the senses. Spotless toilets. Excellent: gilds the stereotype.

Went to watch the latest Ghibli film. The cinema is small and cozy and the seats were really comfortable. It was my first time visiting a non-mainstream cinema and I was pleasantly surprised.

I truly enjoyed my visit here although the screen (Cinema 2) is a little small I was soon engrossed in the film and the sound was great. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff although I thought £2.60 was a lot for a regular can of coke. Easy to get to from Barbican tube station (about 1 minute / 2 minutes walk up Beech Street, directly opposite the tube exit).

Visited to see Oppenheimer at a parent and baby screening session. Was an excellent experience and everything was set up perfectly for parents to enjoy a film (a rarity). They had just changed to having subtitles which is a nice addition for a baby screening which you may be distracted at some point dealing with baby needs. I would very much go again and the £6 price point is perfect!

Excellent cinema with 6gbp movies on Monday and pay what you can on Fridays. Wicked range of new releases and indie films. Come here all the time and love it!

A very comfy place to see a good film, though the entry is in most sight lines except for the very front seats. People entering and exiting the theater will disrupt the viewing.

Fantastic cinematic experience - very roomy, comfortable seats with lots of leg space, air-conditioned, with great sound and visuals.

Comfy theatre, great deal on the tickets. The film started right on time and the theatre was relatively clean. Would definitely go back!

i went to watch the first slam dunk in a relaxed screening. it wasn't too different from a normal screening, just had a dimmed room. was free to talk but no one actually did. but love the concept and i think it's very inclusive for people who need a more relaxed environment. staff were kind and there were water & cups provided so i could avoid staying parched throughout the movie.

Love it. Will come back 100%. My friend has a membership. I will sign up too. Unique atmosphere, cozy café. We were on screen 2. It's different from other cinemas. A big space for legs, comfy soft chairs. Feels like at home. We stayed after watching a movie and enjoyed our tea time. Usually, I leave the cinema after watching a movie. It's a nice place just to come and have some time for a break.

Such great value for money for a central london cinema! Cinema theatres are small and intimate. Often have a great range/variation of films showing

My favourite cinema in London. Less commercial but still showing mainstream films. Tidy, well organized with good visuals and sound. Top marks!

Lovely place, great bar, loads of trailers and ads to watch before the movie.

Small, cosy, extremely clean and the sound is crystal - almost like a personal theatre. Although the Barbican screening list is usually tied to an event/exhibition, should you get the option to choose between this place and any other cinema chains, go here - no questions about it.

I love this cinema! Always a good selection of independent titles and newer high-profile ones, and £5 tickets if you're 25 or under are an amazing deal. They let you bring in your own snacks which is ace but there's a cafe and bar on site as well. The seats in all three rooms are super comortable, and the sound is always really good. It's just generally a pleasure to go see a film here!

I like the cinema but the guy who works in the cafe is mad. I went here a couple of months ago and he told my friend and I that we couldn't take our wine into the cinema. Then he changed his mind for the people in the queue after us. I just went back to see Batman, and I don't know if it was the same guy or not, but I asked if they had any teas without caffeine and the guy said no. Then I pointed at the camomile tea and peppermint tea behind him and asked if they had caffeine and he said no. So there is tea without caffeine? He didn't know. It's always weird.

Nice and cozy, not an imax experience but the film selection makes up for it.

The cinema itself is lovely. The catering was poor. The showing was soldout, but there wasn't much selection of foods, and only member of staff to deal with the customers.

Had a great time! Was running a little late (which was obvious from my state) and the staff readily told me that I was able to get a drink before I went in even thought the adverts had started. The seats were comfortable and moveable without upsetting the people next to me. The sound was amazing and felt incredibly immersive. Went to see batman and although the cinema was quite empty the atmosphere was electric. Student discount means £5 tickets so will definitely be coming here again and highly recommend if you live nearby!

Helpful friendly staff and comfy seat. Shame about the guy behind me who kept kicking my seat forcing me to move to another....

One of my best discoveries while leaving in London! The screening rooms are small and cosy, the cafe outside is really nice and the selection of films is just amazing: both big mainstream productions and smaller more artsy ones as well. Great deals as well, specially for students. Best and cheapest cinema I found in London!

Shame it has been altered in the main lobby. All the cosy atmosphere or 'club' atmosphere has gone. Such a pity Jayne

A lovely cinema with comfy seats. A nice sized screen. The sound did suffer from a minor and infrequent glitch, but the cinema experience was not compromised.
