The staff are completely not interested in their job, chatting about between themselves and doing you a favor when you actually want to ask them a question or rent a pedal boat. The tickets can be bought inside the cafe. The stand outside is just to dispense the boats and life jackets (for kids). The pedal boats are not designed for people with long legs or kids. Basically very uncomfortable to pedal for too long. They are also pretty rundown and don't seem to be cleaned very often. You can go around in 5 minutes. There isn't much to see. There are lots of birds around. The late is very dirty. Some people get stuck, especially if you don't follow instructions and go to close to the edges. Overall bearable, but kids get bored very quickly, don't want to sit around, and then get told off my staff - obviously for safety reasons.

They actually made super difficult for me & my son to buy ticket & board the boat because my son was crying because he wanted to go on a boat. They behaved totally disgusting made us wait extra, letting woman without queuing before us even that she & her daughter (bigger then my son) smiling. My son has a hidden disability & it was so horrible for him & me that they make his 1st time so horrible, make us wait unnecessary 30 min even that they knew he is crying because he wanted to go on the boat. Let people - adults behid us before us !!! Asking us to leave cafe when we queued to buy tickets, if not option of buying online we wouldn't be able to get ticket. Well done for discriminating disable !!!

This is a nice place to relax in the summer and spring, walking area is peaceful and perfect regardless of the weather, the view is beautiful. The boat ride is really good specially for children, customer service at shop is really good too. Go ape is near you can book in advance. I would definitely recommend you experience that too. Over all a great place to bring the family to have a picnic and enjoy the nature.

Very nice and clean park with a large lake for the ducks and boating. Also a small playground and a small skate park near by. Lovely autumn colour at the moment. Small café also available next to the lake and also a public toilet.

Nice arrangement, too bad that the pond, as you can’t really call it a lake, is quite small and overcrowded and the “view” which you have is the almost derelict “Ally Pally”…

When we were trying to rent one man was excessively rude, telling us to hurry up and pick which boat we wanted because “he didn’t have all day” to a bride on a bridal shower, when I hadn’t even come out with the ticket yet. Forgot to even take the ticket and continued to be rude. Then when told he was ruining the bridal shower, just made it worse. Terribly unprofessional. Then as we are trying to return, another boy who was clearing the boats as we drove through, just starts shouting to him “she says the baby is mine! What world is she on!” Completely unprofessional.

Lovely staff. Overworked though. And they seem wedded to the idea of encasing everything in plastic. One gorgeous soup. Food is very poor otherwise. Not how it’s made. Quality wise. Park is a joy.

This place is too good. One can get a good nature view and ample of places for the kids to play and enjoy.

Came here with people with intellectual and physical disabilities as a support worker. The place was not inclusive at all to disabilities in either their pricing (making support workers pay alongside those they are supporting therefore creating financial barriers unlike most other places), there was also no accessibility for wheelchair users and those with impaired mobility. Our organisation will now be boycotting this establishment.

Really enjoyable experience. Physically demanding but family friendly fun.

It was a peaceful stroll on a cold Sunday afternoon. The ducks and geese expect food and swim up to you if you stand by the edge of the lake. Pigeons will flock to the feeding, too. Not sure if the swan boats are operational in winter. They seemed to be parked and inactive. Bet it’s nicer in summer.

The boating lake is getting a little clean up and is being spruced up as well since the lockdown. A nice little lake with boating facility, a restaurant and toilet facilities. Hopefully they continue to maintain the place and keep it clean. It is nice place to watch the calm serene lake . Can get busy with kids around.
