An adorable, old shop which has the atmosphere of the good, old days. Beautiful pieces are sold here & ones that you wouldnโ€™t find just anywhere & thatโ€™s why I love it here! Affordable for most prices ranges & sweet guys who own/work there; always helpful & kind! Thanks for an always pleasant experience!

This place is a lovely little gem--a touch of what old Camden used to be. They have a quirky and varied collection of jewellery, men's and women's watches, and small decorative pieces, ranging from vintage Omegas to art nouveau metalware. The proprietor is a lovely, courteous, deeply knowledgeable chap who has substantial expertise about his wares. They are also excellent, and offer very reasonable prices, for any time of service or repair work. I've brought them a number of jobs, from resizing a wedding ring to watch repair, and they have done it all in a timely and expert fashion. J.A. Lake reminds us of how a proper artisan's shop used to be, and how much has been lost with the advent of massive, faceless chains selling mass-produced tat. It's a fascinating place just to visit, and a terrific place to make a unique gift purchase. Highly recommended!

My (at the time) fiancรฉ and I went ring shopping in London and happened into this lovely shop. We were only looking for gold bands, which were not in stock, but the gentleman behind the counter took the time to look through catalogues and order our rings for us. Not only did the rings make it in time but it turns out that he personally picked them up from the producer to ensure so. The best part... J.A. Lake's prices beat the competition by far. Thank you many times over!

The oldest shop on Camden High Street (dating back to 1868), J.A. Lake Jewelers is definitely one you don't want to miss. The owner, Jeff, has been doing it for over 30 years, so his expertise is a nice perk. Choose from a selection of reasonably priced Royal London watches (ยฃ25ish), or enjoy their other jewelry for yourself or as a gift! Want to read more? The kind gentleman in the shop helped me identify the gemstones in four rings I'd inherited. He didn't even charge for the service. Fantastic!

Helpful staff. I was looking for engraving and whilst they do it it's not on-site so told me where I could go.

I purchased my husbands wedding band here and it was a really special event. It was like stepping back in time ( in a good way) and the owner went out of his way to ensure I received the exact band I wanted. I wonโ€™t be back for another wedding ring but will be back for any more gold purchases !
