Randomly found this place while in the area with a friend. What a nice discovery! We had such a great experience there, service and food were truly excellent! We would especially recommend the fish cake and the fried ice-cream but we also had a lovely curry and a really nice fish and banana pot for mains!

This is a truly fantastic place. We came here after being recommended to come to the area for the fantastic Vietnamese restaurants. We absolutely weren’t disappointed. Firstly the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place is really nicely decorated (including with little wooden miniature sets embedded into the table!). It’s clear that the people who run the place are deeply passionate about the vegan food that they serve here and are proud of it too. The food itself was absolutely to die for it. It was beyond delicious and came out piping hot with lovely noodles. It was also great to be able to try some Vietnamese beers too. The food also arrived extremely quickly. The meal was inexpensive and was absolutely worth it. I’d definitely come back here, it’s a great example of how vegan food can be made to exceptional quality.

That’s how you make proper vegan food and not some celeriac “schnitzel” with mustard “mayo” or cauliflower tacos. The restaurant really reminds me of the eateries in Buddhist temples in my hometown. Crispy pancake looks like an omelette from the picture, but it is a savory shell that covers lovely stir fried bean sprouts and mushrooms and tofu. Ha Long fried cake actually tastes like fish and it’s amazing. Makes me so nostalgic. Had the vegan pho for the first time. The broth is unbelievable— more flavorful than many other allegedly beef bone ones. Lots of warm spices. Light and slightly sweet. And I’ve never seen so many green vegetables in a restaurant dish other than salad or Chinese veggie stir-fries. It’s also the first time for my vegan friend to try pho, and she likes it ^^ The clay pot also tastes nice. The options are all probably soy sauce flavored, so choose your favorite ingredients. As a meat eater, I recommend this place.

A friend said she kept seeing this place on her commute to work and she was dying to try it so I made a booking for 3 of us. Lovely restaurant, small but not too tight. Clean and inviting. Place Filled up pretty quick. Great thing that there was a booking after but we never felt rushed or pushed out. Some restaurants really fail at this and make for a really harsh factory feeling which is not welcoming from a customer point of view. Man it was good. We all enjoyed our meal and was super impressed by the server who seemed to remember our large order of different items and didn't miss a beat. Wish we would have got their name. All items were so tasty and all cooked well respectively, good taste all round. Favourites was the green rolls and crackers. Went to the restaurant on a Saturday night and enjoyed so much I ordered twice on the Sunday, once for me and once for a friend. I will for sure be back to try some more of the menu. Highly recommended.

What is cinema? Is it art? Is it entertainment? Is it fantasy? Is it vice? Likewise, what does going to the restaurant mean to you? The traditionalists amongst you will argue that it's an experience and you would not be far from the truth. You see, Sen Viet is an experience. It's a pleasure. A gateway to what is possible if you are creative, fun and imaginative with ingredient and flavour combinations. Ordinarily, one asks the question about how a restaurant compares to other restaurants you have tried, especially carnivores who delight in asking herbivores whether meat-free restaurant x was as good as meat-filled restaurant y. Of course, the respectful reply would be to say that it is an unfair comparison. Apples to oranges, all that jazz. Yet, Sen Viet defies convention. There is no need to stand on ceremony here because you can and you should compare it to other restaurants - it really is that good. Rarely has this author tasted food this good, and not just, "this is pretty decent grub, good", your author means "this is astoundingly good". From the informative menu that notifies you what ingredients are in each dish, you are impressed at the diversity and deliberateness of them. However it isn't until the food actually arrives and you taste it that you are really impressed. Sen Viet talks the talk and walks the walk; actually, forget it, it sprints the sprint. Ally the excellent food with the fantastically friendly, humbly helpful staff and you can really understand why this restaurant has such a high rating. Food this tasty is dazzling, but coupled with such wonderful staff, Sen Viet is just starting to show-off and put other restaurants in the shade! And so, back to the original question on what is cinema. The actual answer is that cinema isn't just an experience, it's all of the above. Similarly, Sen Viet is too for it is the epitome for what restaurants should aspire to be. It is artistic, entertaining and fantastical. In fact, it is vice too, because a restaurant should not be this good. ;) (Now if only one's pictures did it justice)

Excellent choices of food. If you would like to try different varieties of food, it's definitely one of the best choices. My personal favourite over there is Fish cake with mango salad, fried rice( the way it's served in a leaf is amazing), mushroom Sizzler and morning glory. I am not much impressed with the desserts but the one with tofu and Coconut milk is yummy if you like tofu. The lady over there is really good. It's not much crowded so it's good to have a nice family time as well. I would recommend visiting this restaurant atleast once!!

Fantastic Vegan Vietnamese food! Super impressed by the Spring Roll. The “fish” was outstanding. Their £8.9 lunch deal is a steal! As a non-vegetarian, I’m satisfied by this Vegan meal. High recommend ❤️

I literally shed a single tear of joy when I first ate here. Amazing decor and atmosphere. Really lovely people. And the food… beyond words! I knew from first bite that I would hold these flavours in my heart forever 😭❤️ Truly. My goal is to work my way through the entire menu 🤤

Came back again today after a great experience last week. Delicious food, so many vegan options it was hard to choose! The staff were lovely and service was excellent. Would definitely visit again.

It is briliant. The flavour of the noodle is rich. Plenty of different kind of veggie. The spicy one is mild not very spicy. The services is good, the staff are very friendly! I will come back.

Had a lovely time at Sen Viet. I love that it's a vegetarian and vegan restaurant so I didn't even have to think about which dishes I could have but could have anything on the menu. The owners and staff were so lovely and polite. The food came out so quickly after we ordered and it was delicious. Highly recommend the steam tofu and mushroom foil sizzling. The flavour was beautiful and I loved the tofu. Would love to come back and try more of the menu.

We've visited Sen Viet Vegan a few times now because the food and service are fab! We particularly love the 'fish' cake with the mustardy peanut dressing and the green papaya salad, which go brilliantly together. The hot pots are also super tasty! The staff is always lovely and friendly. One of our favourite restaurants in London!

Excellent, flavorful vegan food - vegetarians and meat-eaters in our group were delighted with the food here. Their ambience is nice too, simple with cultural elements in the decor. We dined here for lunch almost a month ago, so don’t remember the exact names of the dishes. But the vegan Pho had incredible flavorful broth, well cooked noodles and tons of fresh veggies. The caramelised banana tofu was 💯💯💯 - highly recommend it. The betel leaf rolls were amazing and I can only hope to find another restaurant that makes them (and hopefully master them myself) - probably one of my favorite dishes ever. Don’t recollect the name of the dessert, and while at first bite it felt strange, the taste quickly grew on me, and the ginger with tofu was pleasant.

The tables had a glass top with a Vietnamese village underneath to put you in the mood for your meal. The choice was varied and we chose the sharing starter platter to try different items and then had a main each. Each of the mains were delightful in their own way and was a wonderful experience and all Vegan

I've dined here on two occasions and both times were amazing. The food is so yummy, my partner and I reminisce about it often. Our most recent visit, a Sunday evening early September, we had the summer rolls, presidential bun cha and the clay pot mock meat with kohlrabi. Dipping sauce for the summer rolls was so flavourful, the bun cha had so many elements to it - sweet, salty, tangy, crunchy, sour - and the clay pot dish was so delicious over steamed sticky rice. To cap it all off we had the deep fried ice cream - incredible!

This place is bonkers. Food is amazing. Best vegetable fried crispy noodle in London. Dog friendly as well. Will definitely come again.

I had a really lovely vegan Vietnamese meal here! The restaurant is quite small, so naturally it has quite an intimate vibe. You sit quite close to one another. The furnishings were pleasant and homely, and they cleaned all the tables and things right away. I thought the quality of my food was very nice. It was very refreshing and nicely seasoned and well made. My Vietnamese friend (who took me here) was a bit less impressed. She said that some of the ingredients had been frozen or were dried and rehydrated. But she pointed out that virtually all Vietnamese restaurants have to do this to some extent because getting things like fresh lemongrass in the UK is very hard. But our waitress said that my friend has beautiful hair, so it balances out 😏.

The food was not for me. Some parts were seasoned too sweet, other parts too plain. They also charged me almoat £4 for a bowl of rice, which is really too much. The staff also weren't very proactive.

Amazing food! Had the green papaya salad which was so refreshing and tasty as well as the tofu and mushroom sizzling (with rice) which was very flavourful. Friendly service from the staff even though it was really busy. We finished with the coconut yoghurt and violet rice dessert which was a perfect blend of sweet, tangy and coconutty. All the food looked stunning presented on the beautiful sculptures inside the tables. Can’t wait to come again!

I’m not vegan and I was doubtful but this place blew me away! I will be returning. Special pho was generous in portion size and the best I’ve ever eaten. Rice paper rolls were divine!! Staff were so friendly.

Very nice vegan Vietnamese restaurant with a range of tasty chay dishes. I tried the summer rolls and the Bún Huế. Both were very nice. The Bún Huế was a big portion (I couldn’t finish it) and had a nice spicy depth to it. Also ordered iced Vietnamese coffee which was lovely. The staff were all very helpful and warm. I would happily come back here and try more of the food! Cảm ơn!

Dog-friendly vegan Vietnamese restaurant. The menu was big and everything was fresh and delicious. Impeccable service too! It definitely filled my pho craving and I felt like I was in Asia for a second.

  • 5/5 Nick T. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best meals I’ve ever had in London. Each dish has clearly been extremely well thought out and developed, the vegan ‘meats’ in the pho are uncanny. A great restaurant in its own right but especially perfect for recently converted veggies/vegans craving Vietnamese dishes. Staff were the most welcoming, warm and friendly hosts you could imagine, who also took the time to tell us some of the history and tradition behind our dishes. Just lovely. I’d give them six stars if I could.

This is a Buddhist-oriented family-run restaurant on Kingsland Road close by to other Vietnamese restaurants. Why choose this one over the rest?... It deserves merit for the simple fact that it does the right thing in the modern era: it offers a guilt-free 100% plant-based menu for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The variety of food is excellent. The salt and chilli fried mushrooms come recommended as a great savoury appetite opener - full of garlic with a crunch preceding the chewy mushrooms inside. The rice and coconut curry is another good recommendation and may take you towards India with the combination of flavours. You generally can't go wrong with any of the options - their chef cooks very well indeed. All in all the experience was great, however the restaurant does suffer slightly from inattentive service from perfectly nice staff even when only 50% occupied. If can they up their awareness of customer needs I think this will easily be deserving of all of its 5 stars. Still, a great restaurant if you want a clear conscience whilst enjoying tasty and well cooked Vietnamese food. Recommended!

Love this place! Been here many times since they opened for both dine in & take out. Delicious food, lovely decor & great service with lovely staff (esp. the owner Thuyen). What’s particularly special about this place are their lovely desserts, which you rarely find anywhere else. I especially love their Mango Spring Rolls & Tofu Pudding. Always a good time; whether you go alone, with friends, anytime of the week, day or night.

I am already excited going back to this vegan Vietnamese restaurant. We had Pho, Presidential Bun Cha, summer roll and Vietnamese iced coffee. We loved all dishes and a Vietnamese friend I went with approved that their food tasted authentic. All the dishes we ordered just tasted beautiful and the execution with their own vegan ingredients was just amazing - I love how they cooked tofu but more importantly their own vegan protein chunk - tasted so good. The place has homely vibe and interior. The only thing is that we feel a little bit rushed to leave the table once we finished our meal as many people queued outside (I recommend booking online!) but the service throughout was very prompt which made it understandable. 100% coming back soon!

If I had to recommend a single Asian restaurant in London, this would be the place. The food was amazing! It was by pure chance that we ended up here, and we were very surprised by the flavours. The best part is that practically 100% of the menu is vegan!

The restaurant is nicely decorated with unique wooden design inside the tables. The service is very friendly and super efficient. We had our food just few minutes after ordering. The menu is exclusively vegan. The food was very tasty and can only recommend the tofu with caramelised banana.

I am not a vegan but I thoroughly enjoyed the food. There is a lot of choice, portions are quite large and the food is delicious. Staff is really attentive and polite.

The spicy noodle soup is AMAZING. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I love when a dish properly celebrates the taste and texture of vegetables. The one fault I have with this is the fake veggie meat. It's unnecessary. A great veg dish doesn't need to imitate meat.

  • 5/5 A-K L. 2 years ago on Google
I was so upset when I realised it was vegetarian but wow I was not disappointed!!! This place has excellent food, very fresh & unique flavours. Will definitely go again many times. It’s got lots of vegan options. And it was a relaxing quiet atmosphere compared with a couple other Vietnamese nearby.

If you love pho ("fir") but you don't want to harm animals, you can get your fix here! Delicious, and if be amazed if anyone can tell the difference between their beef substitute and the "real thing". Lots of other great dishes including the green banana and "pork-belly". The texture of the "pork-belly" is fantastic. For dessert, try the mango spring rolls. If I lived closer, I'd be there every week!

Crispy rolls Vegetables cut finely. Accompanied by a sauce which perfectly compliments the dish. Sauce is almost sweet. Salt and chilli fried tofu Seasoned excellently and fried so that the tofu is lovely and soft in the inside but not too viscous. Perfect level of spiciness. Sweet chilli sauce is not even needed for what is already a very tasty dish. We overall preferred this starter over the crispy rolls. Coconut curry Arrived beautifully sizzling. My thoughts: Very creamy with mild flavours. Vegetables all cooked perfectly so that they're very soft without losing their flavour. My partner's thoughts: really tasty and rich flavours. Good all round. Preferred over the spicy noodle soup. Spicy noodle soup We were disappointed that the spicy pho was discontinued and got this instead. You can really taste the variety of the root vegetables. Vegetables all cooked perfectly so that they're very soft without losing their flavour. Very tasty flavour to the vegetables too. Pleasantly surprised by the generous mixture of fake meats and tofu chunks. Not very hot at all, which isn't a complaint. The mushrooms in each dish which had them were of superb quality. The menus are really clear about which dishes are vegetarian or vegan, which is really convenient. Customer service was brilliant, staff readily came over when we needed them and they were polite and friendly. Lovely peaceful and comfortable atmosphere with beautiful decorations and calming music.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is amazing and every single dish we ordered was very tasty and different. The menu has so many options to choose from and the price is very reasonable. It's definitely the best vegan/veg Vietnamese restaurant around. I would highly recommend a visiting. I would definitely be going here again soon. Thank you to the staff for an amazing evening.
