I went to Blackheath Eyecare on the recommendation of my eye consultant. I may be wrong on this but, among local opticians, they appear to have the best range of eye scanning equipment. Deepak took a very detailed history of my complicated eye situation and took the time to examine my eyes very thoroughly. Jo provided excellent service in providing new glasses - not pushy at all; fine with me using old frames I already had.

I'm extremely impressed with the excellent service I receive at Blackheath Eyecare. They are always friendly and very knowledgeable. My examination is always thorough and never rushed. In particular, their optometrist Deepak is excellent - very professional and friendly. I highly recommend this practice!

Excellent detailed eye examination by friendly optician who explained exactly what was going on in my eyes. Wide choice of lovely frames, with "fashion' advice from qualified staff if required. I’m new and I’m so glad I chose them! Dr Ravi is simply amazing! I’ve had my eyes checked by quite a few doctors over the years (across 3 different countries) and I can honestly say he’s the best! So thorough, meticulous, clear and polite! Today’s was probably the most in-depth examination I’ve ever received: He cleared so many doubts about my vision/some annoying conditions affecting my eyes and answered questions I’ve had for years - it was refreshing! I had an excellent in depth assessment from the optician, Annupe, who took great care to explain the tests and results from the extensive high quality equipment they have, gave good advice on looking after my eyes, and made me feel very comfortable and in safe hands. Choosing frames can be a hit and miss experience but the team know their products well and are expert at finding the right frames for you. They also have a great range of frames. Absolutely lovely people working here. At first I was a bit apprehensive at the cost of the eye exam but the amount of information they get from the advanced machines is fascinating. Excellent service with the friendliest staff. They looked after me from the first appointment booking and throughout all the process until I came out with my new glasses. I've used Blackheath Eyecare for years, and now my children do too. They are always super-nice and friendly and go out of their way to locate hard-to-find frames or prescriptions for contact lenses. It was hard for my daughter to accept that she needed glasses at a young age, but they were so kind and offered such a range of cool-looking frames that she got over it very quickly and now looks forward to her visits. I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic opticians. The whole team are super competent, kind and helpful, with a great range of glasses and all the tech if you have complicated eyesight problems like me. I have worn glasses since I was seven, and it was not until I was recommended to come to Blackheath Eye Care that I actually felt comfortable in my glasses, having finally found a frame that I really liked on me and I have recently bought my second pair there. The team have a really good eye for what suits the individual and are honest about what they think. Photo of the very cheeky arm of my most recent pair… I also have contact lenses - the team have been very helpful ordering different trial pairs to find the best solution for me. I have been bringing my kids for years as well and my 15 year old looks great in his glasses too.

I sat on my bifocals and needed a repair . was given an appointment very quickly. the repair was carried out the same day and my specs were returned later that day by Jade as she lived near me . there was no charge . marvelous service.

I was initially searching for a place where I can just upgrade my current glasses. This is when I saw this Blackheath eyecare and booked an appointment with Jade. I was really excited and happy: I had one whole hour devoted just to me during which I could try almost everything in the store. I should say that the choice was quite a difficult one since everything in this store is hand picked as far as I understand so all frames met my expectations- they were quite light and trendy, let alone of different colours. Jade has been of great assistance and helped me to narrow my choice to two frames both of which I bought after long consideration. In one week, when I came after the glasses, everything was there for me and I was even more excited about the frames since I realised that I made a choice which was perfect for me. Special thanks to Jade for helping me out, she’s really devoted to what she’s doing and also has great knowledge about each piece in the store. Would highly recommend these opticians to everyone! Should also note that the prices are quite pleasant and affordable, especially given the vast choice available.

I’ve been to Blackheath Eyecare a number of times now with various issues, and have always been delighted with their service. Initially I attended for some advice on contact lenses. I was very apprehensive about this, as I hated the very thought of even touching my eyes! However Jade was an amazing teacher and gave me as much time as I needed to practice putting in the lenses, which I can now do with ease. All the staff at Blackheath Eyecare are very polite and charming and have no end of patience and knowledge in helping you with your questions. Totally recommended!

Superb opticians with 3 highly qualified optometrists and state of the art equipment not seen in other local practices. My examination was extremely thorough and results explained clearly to me in layman’s terms. This equalled the service and treatment received in Moorfields Private Clinic so very impressed and reassured. Lenses by Nikon top quality and the dispensing optician’s knowledge & advice ensured best choice of lens, tint, fitting & measurement for varifocal lenses. Superb fit and very comfortable. Staff welcoming and their website a hive of useful information on all optical issues.
