I got in touch with Wickes regarding fitting my new bathroom in March 2021. I was working with Sadia who was lovely, knowledgeable and helpful for the many months we worked together. When it came to the fitting…..what an absolute mess, as you can see. My first mistake was I had a job abroad so I trusted this fitter Lee Martin to get this done. It’s a small bathroom and he also agreed to do a partial kitchen fit for me too. If you are allocated him, please make sure you watch him at every second. He left my wall crumbling, my bathroom door damaged, my radiator wonky, my bathroom flooring unsecured under a metal partition strip. As for the kitchen, he cut the plinths horrendously and left them with gaps. He also left the electrics in a state. He wasn’t being paid to do electrics but the way it was left - as you can see - was a hazard. When I brought this to a Wickes attention, my only option was for this same man to come back. Why on earth would you send the same incompetent person back? I have asked and asked for someone new. I told Lee and Sadia clearly my kitchen plans - both have accused me of lying despite having evidence. I have offered to hire someone else to fix all the snagging and deduct the amount - Wickes have declined. March to September- all that work to shoddy work and shoddy customer service. NEVER use Wickes. Definitely not the blackheath branch. Use gumtree or Taskrabbit to find fitters. How Wickes can be happy with this quality is beyond me.

Very bad experience with your Blackheath site. Imran basically suggesting I shouldn't come in on Sunday for our design session unless I'm willing to also buy, which is absurd. We are looking at doing a design for our bathroom and this kind of strong arm behaviour is out of order. I was told weekends is usually very busy and really.only meant for people buying things.. so... What? We're not allowed to even have a look at what you have.unless we bring our wallet?? This is absolutely disgusting, what kind of show are you running here?? Imran just did his absolute best to discourage our Sunday design booking, asking me about what my budget is and suggesting that ok, it's going to cost this and that. Just slimey, disgusting salesmanship making me feel like I owe him a favour or something. Honestly livid. Will take my business elsewhere.

Absolutely dreadful service and management. They never have mixable paint available and it always feels like you’re a real imposition if you need anything from the staff there. Avoid

Excellent branch of Wickes. We live nearby and have used them for many years. I haven’t experienced any issues with staff in over 10 years I’ve lived here. There’s also a great selection of garden plants by the front entrance at very decent prices. Someone should water them now and again, though, as they dry out quickly in the summer heat and become necrotised.

Awful experience. I was due to meet a designer but ended up waiting and leaving after 40 mins. Very unprofessional to keep people waiting even though they have an appointment.

Avoid this store like the plague. I approached them for a bathroom design and wish I had never bothered. The designer missed the fact that the sink I liked was too wide for my bathroom. Luckily I realised the mistake before installation but Wickes will not refund my money as I don’t have the original packaging anymore. The store staff was rude and condescending and customer services, despite being lovely, are useless. Save yourself the trouble and go to reputable online retailers. I wish I had sourced all the goods online and had never set foot in this hideous store.

UPDATED: a couple years ago, I placed an order online as their website said they had several in stock. Confirmation email said it could be collected after 1 hrs and order only hold for 24 hrs. Went past the next morning only to be told - we don't have any in stock. When asked why nobody had called to notify me, was told " it's too early". It was 11:50am. Not the first time this has happened. However, recently went in for something and i couldn't find it, even though the website said they had plenty in stock. Spoke with a really helpful team member at the checkout and a few min later, another helpful team member brought exactly what I was looking for. Dreadful service from acouple years ago hopefully a thing of the past. I would go back again given my recent experience.

In 2021 after looking for a new kitchen for some time, I got round to trying my local Wicks at blackheath. I found some really nice cabinets, worktop and tiles. Initially put off by an incrediably grumpy and disinterested manager (who hopefully is now no longer there!), I did actually get the kitchen from wicks and it's looking good and lasting well. Delivery was a bit disorganised as i recall. So despite some issues, the actual goods were fine.

Shameful experience, they have lost our order, which we submitted months ago, and still don’t know when they’ll deliver it, we have now removed the bathroom and we are without bathroom, and we will have to stay in a hotel, this is absolutely unacceptable and incredibly negligent, worst experience ever had, I am speechless.

horrible staff, so rude and so unhelpful, insulting customers when they need help in the shop. I made a complaint online to the head office, nobody answered, for them it's certainly a normal way to work!!! It's better to go to B&Q than this horrible place.

Very helpful staff I had a problem with a thermostatic shower bar while still under five years warranty. The manager was very helpful and courteous, even though the original was bought from another branch, he got out of his way to sort it out and gave me a new replacement. It’s my favourite DIY shop Well done and keep up the good work

Went there for a new fitted kitchen, The designer had planned it on pc after measuring the previous week, it looks really impressive so I hope the install goes as smoothly. I will update when the work is underway and then complete.

I'm giving it 1 star because of the poor delivery service. The delivery person refused to bring the boxes with the floor underlay at my door despite an elevator being available. This meant I had to carry loads of very heavy boxes to my door despite being promised delivery at my door. The delivery driver didn't even put the boxes in the reception of my building as he just left them outside the building entirely. This caused me severe back pain and discomfort. I would advise Wickes to make sure that delivery drivers are instructed to deliver the products at customers' doors no matter what. Other market leaders (e.g. Amazon) ensure delivery at customers' doors despite any context.

Staff are friendly and helpful for someone who always had no clue on what to buy. I had went back to return items because I purchased the wrong one but the people at the counter are welcoming and gets it sorted quickly.

I would like to say a big thank you to a lady by the name of Bessa from the Blackheath branch. I am a keen gardener and often pop into wickes to buy my soil etc. I also suffer with arthritis and I'm often unable pick up the heavy bags. On my last two visits to the store Bessa has assisted me by loading them into my car. Thank you so much

Parking available just outside the shop. Some electric ovens on show, but apart from the makers name, no model numbers or prices shown. No washing machines that I could see. There is a desk for consultation, but that was busy so no-one else available to help.

I was not impressed. I went in to buy a replacement concealed hinge for a Wickes' cabinet door. The rack section for these items was poorly stocked and badly displayed and a significant number of the plastic bags containing the different types of concealed hinges were torn open. The display section was so badly displayed that I almost missed the item I was looking for. The buying experience is supposed to be positive and enjoyable. This was confusing, shabby and totally unprofessional. I normally buy at B&Q of Selco who I realise are so much more organised and switched on to the customer experience. That said, the staff on duty were most polite and helpful. Suggest you up your game Guys!

Their customer service is always awesome, and prices are reasonable....they loose a star as they don't have that much variety.

There is a lot here but sometimes the venue is out of stock. Quite a few items are protected with security tags so you cannot ecen take them off the shelf, so you need to seek a floor assurance to take the security tag off to get the item off the shelf to look at it or even purchase the item. The place let's people get on with the purchase themselves.
