Terrible customer service. After the valuation and photography of my apartment was completed, I reflected on my interactions with Hamptons to date and had a bad gut feel. I'd be selling my property whilst being located quite far away, and wasn't impressed with the communication. This alongside what I felt was a low valuation (compared with other previous valuations) meant I decided to pull out of going with Hamptons. Fine and we could have parted ways easily there. Instead when I explained my concerns, the "senior head of sales" sent an email which didn't apologise but instead defended all the actions being taken and went into detail about his personal problems. Fine and understandable, but sorry seems to be the hardest word... After this I decided I wanted my keys back and to part ways pronto. I went into the office where this same man asked me what the issue was and when I started to talk he proceeded to talk over me telling me "What your problem is..." in a tone that I found to be aggressive. He then started talking about the valuation. I just wanted to cut the conversation there so asked, again, for my keys to which he scoffed and rolled his eyes. I can't help but think had I been a man, he probably wouldn't have tried to belittle me in an open office this way. Regardless, I wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole after my interactions with this rude man.

I had the pleasure of working with Sam in my search for a new apartment to rent. He was so professional, on top of things and was absolutely lovely to work with. He was so patient and respectful towards the older landlady who was renting out her flat; it's obvious that he is a quality person who is patient with others and represents his company so well! I chose Hamptons Blackheath to sell my house based on the interest shown by Joe in getting the property on the books. He was prompt in communication, open to a tiered fee structure and quick to get pictures/ marketing materials. Peter, Cat and Lucy organised and conducted viewings and following an open day with several iniquities buyers, we accepted an offer. Hamptons appointed Jessica as the sales progressor and she followed up with us, our buyers and solicitors to keep us all updated. The team was respectful, helpful, considerate and responsive all through. From marketing to completion at a price point we were happy with in under 100 days including Christmas and people being off sick due to COVID - Hamptons definitely earned their commission - which isn’t something one often hears about Estate Agents. I would definitely recommend them.

Simon Humm from Hamptons Blackheath was condescending and dismissive when he came to value our flat. He gave a ridiculously-low valuation telling us that the decorations looked old-fashioned and would put buyers off. Fortunately we went with another local agent who sold our property for significantly more than Hampton's valuation and after only 6 weeks. Be careful of agents giving suspiciously low valuations. It can be a sign that they want to buy the property cheaply either for themselves or for one of their associates. I've heard this is a common trick, often targeted at the elderly and vulnerable.

Very pushy when we put an offer on a flat initially. The agent lied and told me we would receive the security deposit back if we decided to pull out (naive of me I know, but was still deceptive behaviour to push the transaction through from them).

We've just moved into our lovely new flat which we have rented through Hamptons. From the offset things ran smoothly and efficiently. I was dealing with Alan initially who took my details ahead of passing me on to work with Sam Hawkins who oversaw the rest of the process brilliantly! Sam made every effort to ensure I could view the property quickly the next day, and was invaluable in helping us secure our offer to the landlord. We have found Sam to be a very genuine and helpful estate agent who took the time to answer our questions and was not fazed conducting the viewing with myself in person and my partner on video call.
