As a loyal customer of B&Q for the past five years, I am deeply disappointed by the decline in customer service quality at the Greenwich branch. My recent visit was an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience. The first glaring issue was the evident lack of attention, knowledge, and training among the staff. Many employees seemed disinterested in assisting customers, and their inability to address basic queries only added to the frustration. The checkout process was a nightmare. Most of the tills, including the self-checkout ones, were out of order, leading to extremely long waiting lines. This wasted a considerable amount of my time and left me questioning the store's efficiency. Moreover, the store itself was in a deplorable state. Items were haphazardly mixed up on the shelves and covered in layers of dust, giving the impression of a neglected and poorly managed space. To make matters worse, essential services like the timber cutting service were either unavailable or inconveniently closed without any explanation. When I sought assistance from staff members, they seemed clueless about the situation, showing a complete lack of coordination and communication. Even something as simple as finding a trolley became an ordeal. The trolleys were scattered throughout the parking lot, and it was nearly impossible to find one, especially the heavy-duty ones for larger goods. When I finally managed to find one, it got stuck, leading me to seek help at the Customer Service desk. The staff at the Customer Service desk only added to my frustration. The first person I approached seemed uninterested in assisting me and passed the responsibility to someone else. The second person didn't know how to help and rudely stated that it wasn't her problem. After a considerable wait, a third person arrived, only to scold me for trying to take the trolley in the manner I did, despite it being in that condition when I found it. In summary, the overall experience at B&Q Greenwich was appalling. The lack of competent staff, store mismanagement, and the unavailability of essential services make this branch a lawless land where customers are left to fend for themselves. B&Q, it is high time you prioritize hiring quality personnel and invest in proper training for your staff. Your prices keep rising, but the quality of your services is deteriorating. This recent visit will be my last to this branch, as it wasted my time and left me incredibly dissatisfied. I sincerely hope that this review prompts B&Q to take immediate action in rectifying these issues and restoring the store's reputation for excellent customer service and reliable operations.

First of all, staff inside shopping area are extremely helpful, a young lady and a gentleman did their best to help me locate items and offered best advice. As a hardware shop it stocks so many items that indeed took some efforts to find the exact ones needed. The only downside is a check out staff named Adrian, who may need a bit customer facing training before he can qualify his post. His attitude is not the best, otherwise the whole shopping experience would be five star.

Called to see if the timber cutter was open - it was. Gave them the size to double check they could cut it - they said they could. Went down there, purchased the wood, asked for it to be cut only to be lied to again by 2 other members of staff about the cutting capabilities of the machine and that our wood couldn't be cut. Watch out for this lot, they are under trained and do not see any problem in lying to you. They are not to be trusted.

What a joke of a store. Firstly seems like no one is working there. Took me 15 min to find an employee running around the store because there call help buttons are broken. Then trying to rent a carpet cleaning machine. Asked the lady behind the counter yesterday all questions and she said just bring your ID with you. I did this morning and suddenly they want a driver license or Passport and a utility bill. Waisted my whole morning for this by not having informed staff working in there to advise customers properly. Never coming back here again.

Very rude customer service worst approach to people today really disappointed. It has been hit and miss with people in the past couple of months. Some very helpful nice people and polite, guy selling Christmas trees over the last two-three weeks has been amazing. Guy at till generally okay, but today a person maybe a supervisor or someone not at till was rude. I do understand that it is the end of the day and it was 8pm. But as a comparison IKEA next door for example offers a much politer way of telling people to go to till. They ‘kindly ask the customer’ to proceed to check out and finalize their purchases. B&Q lady announcement tonight sounded rude and threatening that tills are closing shortly. We were 1 step away from the till and finishing to purchase a door handle we needed, and twice we were approached by this very rude employee telling us it’s 3 minutes past and we need to leave! The way the person on the shift spoke to me was rude and passive aggressive. It was not only me another customer was rather irritated too and he didn’t appreciate the tone and way he was spoken at as well. He told the same person that he should not speak like that to people in general and to customers. Possibly is on the video cameras! I decided to express the same feeling as I thought it was just me and my partner and felt really uncomfortable as I could see the customer was visibly and vocally upset too. I repeat, I understand they want to go home but you cannot speak to strangers and customers in this way. We are not at the pub and I am a customer. There is a way to be polite and tell people to wrap up and move to pay but not in that manner. It was one of the most unpleasant shopping experiences and I don’t recall being treated this bad. It is upsetting to see that personnel don’t get any training, if they don’t want to work then they should not have gotten this job. Also, working at such places you know you don’t close at 8pm on the dot, and you can’t treat people in this manner no matter what. I hope some action will be taken but for me it’s a disappointment and after me and my partner spent so much money in the last months and after so many visits I fell really it is not a place I enjoy going and shopping at after this incident. I find a nuisance also that I need to go to IKEA as they have no customer toilets, and have been advised to go there which is a bit cheeky.

We've been to this B&Q many times over the years... Nothing has changed much from what i remember, they still sale pretty much what they've always had. The place itself is nicely size, so i'm sure you'll find what's needed. Staff have always been good, they try and help as much as they can. Can't go too wrong.

It used to be ok but now the situation changed a lot. Lady at the returns is quite rude and I wanted to buy a kitchen cabinet door which she said it was in stock however when I went to aisle to pick it up it was not there. She then told me they have it in store at a different shop and I asked for a number to call to make sure I don’t waste my time. When I called they said they don’t have it in stock. You can’t trust their stocking system as it’s not updated live. I also put an online order a few weeks ago and the delivery didn’t even arrive in the specified day, after which they told me it was not in stock and refunded me. But it’s also a waste of time. The same thing happened last year in may when I wanted to order flooring. Initially I paid for it and waited a few weeks for delivery. However when the delivery was due they said it’s not in stock, and I had to wait for another one month and the new price was higher. Looks like they don’t update their systems and customer care is disappointing.

Ordered 3 items to be delivered to B&Q Greenwich via Click & Collect. All 3 were shown to be in stock and they took money for all the items. The order was put through at 12:46 and the advice was that they would be available to collect within the hour. Didn't hear from them until after two o'clock, when I received an email to say that one of the items wasn't in stock, but the other 2 were. This is frustrating as their system had said everything was available and their refund system says it can take up to 14 days to get your money back - out of pocket and it meant I'd have to go elsewhere for the other item. When I arrived, I had to wait for 10 minutes while the cashier and a colleague chatted. Nobody was wearing masks. When I asked for my items, I was told that the ones I had ordered weren't in stock, so they were giving me alternatives. When I asked why I hadn't been notified, I was told that this was because the products being offered were of a greater value. This was a lie. The Harris wire brush I had paid for was £9.23 - the replacement is on their website at £4.00. The other brush was as ordered. All in all a completely wasted journey and a waste of time and petrol, only to deal with disinterested and dishonest staff. Oh...and I then had to hang around while the cashier filled in forms to say the items had been collected, then returned...and I still have to wait 14 days for the rest of my money to be refunded. Just a shambles. For anybody who lives locally, please note that Selectric in Blackheath village were able to give me all the things I wanted from B&Q for more than £3 cheaper. If I could have given no stars, I would have. Awful system, awful service.

A very big B&Q store. You can do in store shopping, order online for delivery at your home or click and collect from store. Though i do find inventory is slighty messy here, not maintained properly. Items lying in different bays from their original location. Even in packed items i have seen issues like missing parts/accessories. In store help is not available easily, they have customer care counters but mostly no one is there. overall good store if you know already what u need to buy and where in store you can find it.

I rushed to the store after work, arriving before 19:00, to buy some timber which had to be cut to my size. According to the B&Q website, the Greenwich store was open until 20:00 and there was timber cutting service available. However, when checking out, I was advised that the timber cutting counter had closed at 18:30. I asked if they could cut it for me tomorrow and have it delivered to my address but was advised there was no such service. This photo of the timber cutting counter was taken at 19:25 on 24 November 2022. Nowhere at the counter or on the B&Q website does it say about different opening times for the timber cutting service. While each individual staff has been polite and understanding, and I must praise them for that, the management of this store is awful and incompetent. If a service is to close earlier, it should be clearly indicated on the store website. As the service level was far below expectation, and there was misleading information on the website, I cannot recommend B&Q’s services to anyone. It is likely you would be disappointed based on my experience.

Staff were helpful. Not enough trolleys conveniently available though. Went to look at the flooring and it is not very clear what exact flooring is on show Vs stock Vs price. The samples are in a different section so have to hunt and match to what you looking at on main display.

I went in and had a look around. I particularly liked the plant section, and was interested in the heating, but they had mostly electric and I was more interested in purchasing a wood stove. I didn't buy anything today. I didn't take any photos unfortunately they did have some nice stuff to take photos of. The staff were helpful as always and and one directed me towards the the gardening section.

Terrible experience, I wonder how this place stays open. Rude or clueless staff and the timber cutting person is always away for hours (for lunch break) when he is there the saw seems to be always "out of order"

You won't find all the paint stock here. Paint staff didn't seem like they knew all the details or didn't feel like giving detailed instructions to a first-timer. But overall the place has numerous items, big warehouse, is reachable and has Ikea next to it.

Lovely ambience for everything that involves your home decor. From painting to artificial grass and modern day kitchen available for installation. It's the one stop shop for your home building, making or remaking and everything in between.

It’s such a massive store with all your home needs especially for building stuffs. They have a lot of Christmas decorations and real trees as of the moment.

Called up today as I was unable to make an order for flooring online due to stock availability and someone called Tash picked up and was incredibly helpful. He found the product, advised me on the best way to get hold of it and was incredibly supportive. Really appreciate people who try their best to help customers.

Love this store!! Such a vast range of items in stock when I shop - I know it’s bigger than the old Kent road one and it’s just a shame that I have to travel so far to Charlton to have such a great shopping experience. Point to note: so few staff on the ground it’s really hard to find help!!

Any good review on here is fake & it's obviously coming from the employees of this store because this place is absolutely rubbish when it comes to finding staff to help with anything. When you do eventually find staff they do not have any knowledge on your question & then your waiting around for them to find someone else. I won't be returning here at all.

Ordered flooring, as a click and collect order, to the store and pick up was delayed by about 15-20 minutes. Staff apologised profusely and explained the delay, which was much appreciated. The Customer Service Agent at the Collections Desk (we arrived on 18/12/2023 at 12.50pm, was a guy with an accent) was lovely. Very personable and seemed to go above and beyond to support customers. There was a complex return happening whilst we waited for our order and he seemingly handled it very well. Closest store is Peckham, but will make the journey to this store as it is larger and the staff are very nice!

Great spacious store with a good section for plants. Would have given it 5 stars if their terracotta pots are not constantly out of stock!

Feb 2023 - Amazing service from the guys on the wood cutting counter at B&Q in Greenwich - extremely helpful and offered some great guidance 👍 Get a laser measure and get the B&Q guys to cut your sheet timber down to the millimetre and save yourself a lot of precious time. That said, be sure to call the store in advance of any sheet wood cutting as they don't have qualified staff all the time.

The staff in this place are appalling, more interested in a social life then serving customers. Only one check out open ever. Serve yourself is never open. The wood cutting service is never open. Things are always mixed up and never in the correct place. Go anywhere else rather than here it's just not worth it.

I visit this branch with my kids to get some mixed paints. At the mixing centre I was met by Laura, Kim and there colleague who all went out of their way to help me. They were excellent at solving problems and also really engaging with my kids. The kids loved it and learned what excellent service looks like. Great job guys, thank you.

Next to IKEA. Bus station at the front door. 4 hours car parking in front with Burger king next door. No cart available outside. You have to collect cart across the street in the parking lot. A lot of items available but the staff are not really helpful. Some of the items misplaced with no price tag.

Click & Collect exists, but is always closed. Instead there is a single cashier. The returns person won't take customers who want to pay. Waited for 30 minutes to pay, then was sent to the returns person. After 10 minutes she said she won't do check-out payments. Two random workers walked to the front, chatted about their day to one another and left. Finally someone made a call to open another checkout. One of of the two random workers walked back to the front of the shop and opened self-checkout. With a 20% greater cost, and a ton of home improvement shops in the area, as well as numerous industrial parks with specialisation, there is no point in going here. Let the place close and their entitled employees can find some place else to pretend to work.

Its a very big store, nice and clean. I just found it a bit difficult to locate what I needed. Not many staff around to help you either. Eventually after going down almost every aisle, I found what I needed. Outside is free parking- not sure if there was a time limit.

It’s an essential store for home owners because it has lots of products for house maintenance, decorating and light bulbs. Also, gardening lovers like this store, too. I was glad that they moved some lovely indoor plant at the main entrance recently. The self check out machines also improved so customers don’t queue too long to pay. But I highly recommend you wear not expensive clothes to this store because it is always very dusty!

An enormous B&Q both in London terms or otherwise. Very helpful staff and fantastic coverage of the full spectrum of B&Q items. The joinery, lighting, and garden areas are particularly well serviced.

  • 5/5 Tom T. 2 years ago on Google
Huge B&Q with a big range of products. Gardening section at the back. The selection of tools and paints is truly impressive. It is so big that it is better to buy online and use "Click and collect". Opens early!

Literally enormous! So much stock, for better and for worse. I would review higher but like other reviews I have found that click and collect items have not been available in actuality, frustrating after journeying there.

The manager is rude, very few staff are available in the aisles to help, the website (I realise this is not specific to Greenwich B and Q!) never returns basic items when you search for them, the queues in Greenwich are everlasting and often only one till open, and stock variety and availability are very poor. I can't find a single positive thing to say about this store.

Had to travel to this store from SW London...took me over an hour to get there! As I needed a small sink, which I couldn't find anywhere else in London. The store was massive (much bigger than my local stores. Seems nice and clean. Only problem was not many staff to assist (but this was due to staff in self isolation due to COVID).
