Lewisham open market reminded me so much of the Oshodi and Balogun markets in Nigeria...omg 🤣 You can literally buy anything here and the good part is that you buy items in bulk. The market is more of food market, however one can get other household items from the shops! I loved the experience and this was my first time here. If you're new to the UK and stay in England you can buy your food items from this market and stock up your house. Thank me later. Happy shopping 👋

This market is great. The fruit and vegetables are super cheap and great quality, £1 per bowl - which would typically cost you anything from £1.50-10 for the equivalent quantity from a super market like Lidl, or Tesco. I typically freeze things like raspberries, avocados and blueberries from here, since you get so many! There's a similar market outside Whitechapel station with different varieties of fruits and vegetables to the ones at Lewisham market, but same prices.

Good fruit and veg in this market if you're here at the right time. Not as good for asian or other exotic stuff as Whitechapel or Green Street.

Situated mainly along the pedestrianised part of Lewisham High Street, this market is open from 9 to 6 every day except Sunday, when it is 10 to 4. A very good selection of fruit and vegetables, but also clothes, leather goods, kitchen equipment and a few other bits. If it's wet or very cold, pop in to The Mall for a coffee and cake.

If you're in the area, it is a good place to browse and pick up some fresh produce. It is really busy though, so not for the faint hearted.

Great place to fresh fruit and veg, cheap too

Good to have fruits and vegetables street market. These are rare in the UK. Quality is hit and miss, mediocre, borderline consumable at time and because they sell in large quantities it is not suitable for small household. Traders are rude, as they are in this kind of market

This place is known for its varieties. It's an open market where you get to buy veggies, pepper, fruits and more farm produce. Household items are also sold.

A good old fashioned feel market. Lots of stalls selling a whole variety of fruits and vegetables. Proper stuff and good prices

Nice variety of fresh vegetables, some household items and clothes. You will certainly find something for you. Prices are good. Shopkeepers are not there to have fun.

It is a good place but not spacious enough. The road is small that the space is not enough for 3 buses. Or two buses on opposite sides and a car. There is room for all both wheel chair and non. But it is tight to for all to be at ones. In the arena one need to be careful so that he will not lost anything or be robbed. Since it is a market alot of people move in and out. The market are easy accessible from different locations. You can get all you need.

Always an abundance of fresh produce fruit and vegetables for affordable prices. Probably the best for cheap food quality fruit and vegetables in London but the real gem is the local people who make it.

Probably one of the best open markets in South London, with a great variety of Fruits and Vegetables from all over the world, Clothes and Accessories, Take Away Foods and especially on the weekends stalls selling small electric and electronic items.

It's a locals market so a lot of fresh produce, a few stalls selling everything from clothes and handbags to saucepans. Some of the stallholders have worked there for decades and have a good customer base because their produce is reasonably priced and decent quality (in terms of fresh fruit n veg). But with the redevelopment of the shopping centre, it is certain that the days of the market, certainly in it's current form and location, are coming to an end.

There are a lot of things and their prices are good. The only thing that triggered me was When I was buying the mop bucket, the wringer and the bucket itself came separately. I thought I had caught it well, because there was none else and when I got home, I saw that the wringer didn't fit.

I love markets and Lewisham market is a great place to get fruit and vegetables and really good value. Honestly, getting fruit and vegetables from the markets is so much cheaper and tastes a whole lot better than the big chain super markets.

Great variety of food, fruits and vegetables. Lovely multicoloured and multicultural place to go for a walk and buy very cheap groceries.

My local for fruit and veg. I usually go to the vendors opposite Gregg's or 1 or 2 near the H&M. Some of the vendors which have young girls serving people are too rude for liking. They handle elderly people with no manners. Shout at them and are just disrespectful for silly reasons. They need to remember all this '£1 a bowl' sales are made by many of the locals they talk down too. They need to learn manners. But overall it's value for money. Walk up and down to see better bargains.

GREAT MEMORIES OF MY YOUTH WORKING ON A FRUIT AND VEG STALL. GENUINE PEOPLE AND FRIENDLY AND NOT PRICEY. SOME GOOD STREET FOOD VENDORS ALSO

  • 5/5 Nicola T. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent fresh produce. About 4 pm you can get more for a lower price. Stall holders usually pack up to leave around this time.

Sellers rude, abusive and most of them racist because most customers are foreigners. I picked a bowl of red peppers which contains 4 and about to pay and sellers started shouting at me that its supposed to be 3. Calling me liars just like that and screaming at me. I felt embarrassed and humiliated. All eyes on me and I walked away quickly.

Lewishan open market is actually a great market where you can virtually get stuff you won't find around your local store, just take your time and explore the market, you might just be thrilled with your experience.

Great value for money. In this day and age given the price increase. You can reduce your spend significantly , ON fruite and Veg. Bring your manners though. Some of the stalls have three generations working on them, a trip into how London was back in the day well worth a visit

  • 4/5 Bee Z. 1 year ago on Google
Generally a great place to get a variety of fresh fruits and veg. Some stall owners are friendlier than other. Can be quite busy so try to go early. But if you're looking for reduced bowls go around 4pm.

Love this place. Loads of variety. Affordable. Be sure to give fruits and veg a good wash. Much better if you bring your own reusable bags to save on the plastic bags.

Good variety of products, I love the fresh fruits and vegetables... And of course the good price.
