There are many bridges to cross the Thames but Southwark Bridge is historic. It has appeared in many films like Harry Potter. The bridge is teal and gold in colour which looks majestic and the day as well as night.

It's such a gem. Maybe the most criminally underrated bridge on here. Quiet, sturdy and beautiful. Can enjoy the views without the clamour and rush of say, Tower, London or Waterloo Bridges. 2024 gonna be a big year for Southwark - could see a comeback, and I really hope we do.

Southwark Bridge is one of a number of Thames bridges included in the roll out of the Illuminated Bridges project which so far runs from Tower to Waterloo bridges. It’s been strangely under-publicised but well worth checking out. The best way is along the Thames Path. I hope the photos illustrate this. It’s completely free.

One of the many bridges over the River Thames in Central London. Southwark Bridge is an arched bridge that spans the river with the City of London on the north bank and Southwark on the south bank. It's located just east of the Millennium Bridge and west of London Bridge, and not as busy as the other bridges although you can still use it to get to the tourist attractions such as Tate and other museums in the area. On a good clear day, you can still get nice views of the River Thames and some of the major landmarks of London as afar.

Southwark bridge is and arch bridge designed by Ernest George to connect Southwark with the City of London. The bridge was inaugurated in 1921 by King George V and Queen Mary as a plaque in the middle of the bridge indicates.

Very pretty bridge with great views towards bother the City and Southbank.

Went to the annual Sheep Drive and Livery Fair yesterday. An event worth visiting, if only for the novelty. Interesting stalls with lovely products. The Livery part was good, and there were some excellent doughnuts on the Bakers stall.

It was good to see the area during the day. I had a nice walk along the river, very calm. Plenty of shops and cafes.

A wonderful walk and place to sit with your food from the Borough Market and people watch. Its so clean and it was heaving

Idle away time watching the beautiful Thames, cruises. Have you tried walking along the foodpath, which in between gets cut off and work around buildings and other attractions. Remember having a nice long time way back, couple of decades ago.

Lovely old bridge with distinct pale green and yellow paint. It sure keeps one from getting well when crossing the Thames River, and quickly too.
