After a really boring and tiring day at work, I was in urgent need of a power nap. Having thoroughly searched my office building for a secret location to take a snooze, I came across Pop & Rest in Old Street (which is about a 15 minute walk from my office in Moorgate). I was expecting some kind of high tech sleeping pod (from what I had seen from services in the US) but instead the space was a fairly drab but functional space separated by walls. The bed and pillow were very comfortable and the room got very dark once the LED lamp was turned off. An eye mask was provided as well as charging facilities for your phone. Unfortunately, there was construction noise outside which initially made it difficult to fall asleep. The disposable ear plugs provided managed to mitigate most of this though and were a good touch. I was successfully able to have a refreshing 30 minute power nap which allowed me to recharge. Overall, I thought the service was good but the quality of the building and the space could be improved. A member of staff showed me a prototype of a shed that is currently in development that will include music. This is something that I am keen to do more regularly. Whilst £8 is about equivalent to 3 cups of coffee, I still think the price point is a bit too expensive to make this a daily lunchtime ritual.

The calming and meditative sleep pods are a breath of fresh air amongst the hustle and bustle of London life. We provide cuddle therapy sessions in Pop&Rest’s pods with our company, Nordic Cuddle. A great concept, whose time has come!

Extremely disappointed by the false advertising on their website. The pods at Old Street look nothing like in pictures. I was expecting exactly what I saw on the website - secure pads with glass door, door handles which you can lock, and which are meant to be soundproof. What you get in reality is a foam-covered wooden cabin with a latch. You can hear everything, every time someone moves on their bed and I even had to wake up at 6am because there was a really weird guy that kept chatting to himself and coughing everywhere. The room where the pads are is really messy, there is rubbish everywhere even on top of the cabins. The toilet is small and dirty. No mirror, no toilet paper. My body is itching from the bed too. Such a good idea but the execution is very poor.

Pros: Quiet and comparatively peaceful place to lie down for a few hours. Decent value for price and very clean. Cons: mattress and pillow were quite thin and not conducive to a good rest. The “rooms” are just segments of fabric and soundproofing hanging from the ceiling, so not quite as cozy as you might think. Overall: worth it for the few hours rest/relaxation after arriving in London early morning, but definite room for improvement.

Long overdue review. I used pop n rest some months ago when I was in desperate need of a power nap after visiting the museums in South Kensington. Loved the attention to detail, the room was cosy and the environment welcoming. To be honest it was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had in a London nap room. Thank you to the wonderful team here. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely brilliant! The pods are super close to my office and the people I usually deal with are lovely attentive and caring! I have used them few times and I will keep using them whenever I am in London. Well done!

I was told there was some building work going on but literal hammering next to my head while trying to grab 40 winks is something else, if they say there's some work going on I'd avoid it until it's completed.

Disappointing experience. The place is very basic, locates in the ground floor of an old converted building with office tenants above. There are about 4 or 5 “rooms” but they are not proper rooms, only separated by dividers and thick curtains. There is no proper sound proofing so you can literally hear everything that’s going on around you - people constantly walking on the floor above (again, poor wooden flooring with no proper sound proofing), people walking around you, people whispering...you are on edge all the time and it is not relaxing at all. Bed linen also smells, not sure whether or not they change them between guests.

The receptionist welcomed me well. The room was ideal for a quick/long powernap/sleep. Clean and cozy. Pop the provided earplugs and you'll immediately fall asleep. Woke up with plenty of energy to continue my day.

At first I doubted the idea and didn't know what to expect.. But was efficient perfect for a mid day nap if you have a busy schedule and not much time. Fairly easy to get to as well. If anything it should be advertised better as I had to Google search Japanese pod hotel London to find it And it seems as people are not even aware this place exists.. SO I highly recommend advertising a bit better. It is more catered for relaxation and meditation. But should be sold as a mid-day rest location Hope business expands and gets more noticed as it helped

I used popnrest when I travelled to London for business. I just needed a quiet place to lay down and prepare my meeting. The host was very nice and the place clean. Therefore I recommend it!

👍👍 I absolutely loved my experience at Banya. I loved it so much that I need it to become a monthly routine in my life. The Parenie treatment was intense and I rarely ever use a plunge pool at a spa, but it was the most amazing feeling after and I'm still feeling great a day after from the treatment. I...
