Petticoat
Lane
Market
is
a
fashion
and
clothing
market
in
Spitalfields,
London.
It
consists
of
two
adjacent
street
markets.
Wentworth
street
market
is
open
six
days
a
week
and
Middlesex
street
market
is
open
Sunday
only
(closes
at
2pm).
In
Tudor
times
Middlesex
street
was
known
as
Hogs
Lane
a
pleasant
lane
lined
by
hedgerows
and
Elms.
The
market
was
not
formally
recognised
until
an
Act
of
Parliament
in
1936.
But
it's
long
history
as
an
informal
market
makes
it
possibly
one
of
the
oldest
surviving
markets
in
Britain.
Old
Fables
say
that
they
were
very
popular
for
an
eclectic
selection
of
colourful
silky
petticoats.I
have
awarded
the
market
five
stars
because
I
am
fairly
certain
that
I
can
see
very
interesting
bargains
lurking
in
its
once
murky
depths.
At
this
stage
I
am
not
100%
sure
but
I
hope
to
return
in
the
very
near
future
to
investigate.
So
watch
this
space
!
Yes
I
thought
that
there
was
a
good
selection
of
shirts
And
some
in
my
size
too
(XXXL).
These
large
shirts
are
quite
difficult
to
find
at
a
good
price.
But
I
have
saved
myself
oodles
and
purchased
two
shirts
for
a
very
comparatively
small
price.
