I'm sorry for doing this but feel so strongly about the overpriced products and pompous, unfriendly attitude to customers that I'm posting this. The prices are enough to put any poor budding artists off for life. The phrase I thought of as I walked out the store was an "Expensive Emperor's Emporium". Artist's equipment no longer needs to purchased in this way or sold with such snootieness.

Got some great advice today when buying Angelus paint from this store. My shoes have turned out lovely.

I went there to buy beginner equipment and the staff was very helpful. Didn’t try to oversell at all which is appreciated. There is a great variety of art supplies for everyone and the prices are fair.

I went there to buy some oil paints and I got what I wanted and a few more. The shop is tidy and very well organised. You can find the sales or discount products easily. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is now my favourite shop.

Tons of quality art supplies, they are not cheap although you are paying for the quality. Occasionally they will do sales on some items which is a good catch if you manage to get them. A well stocked premium art supply store in Angel neighbourhood.

A great art store near Angel. The staff is super helpful. Apparently it's on the pricier side for art supplies, but great option for beginners who need some guidance in getting the right items.

Rude, unhelpful cashier staff. Slow service, the line was empty and no one came to help us pay. Overpriced materials, can find more affordable onine. If you can get art materials anywhere else at all, do it. I wouldn't waste my time or money here.

An amazing art shop on 3 floors. Fantastic! A little off the beaten track but totally worth the effort to find. The only negative is that some of the products are a bit over priced...having said that, I still bought a fair few bits :)

Nice staff, the shop floor was immaculate, well laid out, and well stocked. Could hear staff having some great conversations with customers and being genuinely helpful. Sadly, as has been the case in every Cass Art I've been into, the paintbrushes are always wrecked (admittedly, this is probably from customers being heavy handed when picking them up and looking at them), with splayed tips and errant bristles across the various ranges. A big shame as I wanted to test out the Cass Art Sables while they were on offer but could only find a single size 2 that was in relatively good condition, and even if the others do happen to form a decent point when wet, it just doesn't seem to be worth the risk. If stores could sort out the brush displays I'd probably not buy them anywhere else

Quality art supplies, very well stocked, lots of items on sale. Very helpful personnel who was ready to jump in and help when I asked them, and very knowledgeable too. Super nice shop overall, there's something for everyone.

I like these small independent art shops but a few times now, they haven’t applied the multi-buy discount at the tills. You have to check their adding up yourself.

Just went here at 18.52 and the doors were locked. They are meant to close at 7.00pm. Then a guy sauntered over and opened the door and told me the tills close in 2 minutes and that I better hurry. I ran upstairs to get what I wanted and came back down only to stand in a queue for 5 mins as there was only one till open. I get that they want to leave early on a Friday but he had me run up and down the stairs only to have to stand there for ages. Then they charged me a higher price that that which was on the item upstairs. However I needed a canvas and I knew they didn’t have the time to sort it out so I told the woman and said I’d go back to sort it out tomorrow. Point is they could have gotten out on time sooner and made it less stressful for everybody if they had just been nicer! And they shouldn’t be allowed to lock the doors pre closing time. The message that gives is ‘go away’ whereas I’m guessing the owner of this company would actually prefer to get the business.

The moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome, I went in looking for I product to help solve a problem I was having with the finish of a piece I’m working and he was really quick to help me, not only did he help me figure out the product I needed, he recommend others products for other projects I’m working that will actually make my life easier, even though he had to leave a few times to serve other customers he never forgot about me and made sure to give me the best service he could which he did 1000%!! every time I go to this store everyone is always super nice, friendly and helpful but this visit stood out!!! I saw other's review of whose experience with smug supercilious and patronising staff. Seems that we had the same staff? I had unpleasant experience with cashier here about 2yrs ago. She charged other customer's item to me. I realised mischarge and revisited them. But, blaming that I didn't ask for receipt (which means I didn't have receipt), she refused to sort it out. Though mispayment was made by her , she even didn't apologise at all. 2years passed since then, I recently popped here with little hope, but realised that she's still good at knee-jerk blaming customer.

Fully stocked art store easy to get to. My wife really enjoyed all the diversity of paints they had in stock. Three floors of rating!

Found what i needed, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The prices are really good for the quality of what you're buying. I bought gesso and an A5 160gsm sketchbook. If you are buying a notebook/ sketchbook then do some research of the thickness of the pages because once I bought one that was £17 and the pages were really thin, no matter what pen I used, the ink would either leak or ghost.

The art shop has everything you need the high quality of the materials in store is very good the shop assistant is friendly and helpful its got different levels the art shop is set back but its easy to locate inside is clean and the materials is quite nicely displayed easily accessible and very quiet

One of the best art supply shops in London. Def a go-to if you paint and draw. Wide range of paint brands, affordable canvases (I love their own brand canvas triple packs), posca pens, etc. They also organise interesting workshops. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely store with a wide selection of art supplies, materials and tools. The staff are really lovely and there is an art exhibition space/workshop space downstairs!

I love to go there to buy my pencils. Even if I don't need a new pencil I look for new brands .. new types of pencils and I always get a new one

Great and inspiring shop for art supplies. On 3 floors. Good customer service. More on the expensive side, but they have sale promotions from time to time.

Staff was helpful and energetic :). The place seems very calm to browse through their various selection of art supplies. I saw that they also do art classes for kids and tweens but at a fairly high price. It was nice that the employees didn’t mention anything when i stayed in the shop for a long time 😅.

I have accessed Cass Art as an art student since 2012 in London! The Islington branch is the best in layout, stock and ambience. It is well maintained and the staff are super informed.The store reflects Islington.

Staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. They do have random discounts / sales from time to time so you can get yourself a real bargain. Shop is kept clean and tidy and organised well so you rarely need help finding what you're looking for.

Staff are relaxed and helpful, making the store an enjoyable place to browse. Enjoyable art classes held regularly in the downstairs table space help make art more accessible to the local community.
