My first taste of Iraqi cuisine and it was incredible. We tried all of the Kubba and they were delicious. For mains the dolma with Lamb ribs was incredible, also loved the Saffron chicken. Desserts was a knafa and it was so so good, never eaten anything like it. Wine was lovely and service was some of the friendliest I've experienced in London. Gutted I didn't try the Hummus or flatbread but will definitely be back as soon as possible!

I've been following Phil for a while now, and the moment I visited london, his place was at the top of my list to visit. Went with my wife, and I'm not really sure where to start, from how friendly and kind Phil was, to how absolutely delicious the food and presentation was, to the cleanliness. Phillip is true, genuine, honest, and a hard worker who has taken Iraqi cuisine and done to it what nobody I have ever seen do to it. Phil has taken Iraqi food to a place, that as an Iraqi, truly excites me and makes me proud. All the power and support to you brother, and thank you.

Tried their mixed grill and chicken kebab open wraps for lunch and food was decent and of a good quality. I had never tried Iraqi cuisine before and it was very nice. Open wraps are pitta bread which is topped with salad and grilled meats of your choice. All food is prepared fresh before your eyes next to live grill. Recommend and I will definitely try them again.

friendly staff, got the chicken and lamb mixed grill which was very good! The flat bread is a bit more on the crispy side than the fluffy side so your preference Will determine your overall opinion

Delicious iraqi Kubba! Vegan options as well the mushroom chaap is delicious. My favourite is the Kubba Hallam and Potato Chaap. The staff is super friendly & patient as well. They also have amba sauce and kababs, all halal. A taste of iraq in busy borough market.

So I tried almost everything on the menu and I seriously can not pick a favorite! Most authentic, heart warming little Iraqi kitchen ever. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend ♥️♥️ You’re a legend, Phil! :) P.S: best Kunafa and Kubba I’ve ever had (and that’s coming from an Iraqi.. sorry mum).

Great spot in Borough Market. The chicken and lamb mixed grill (pictured) is delicious. Those kebabs come on a flatbread with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, spices, sauce etc. and it's a fantastic mix of flavors. Staff is very friendly and helpful too! Highly recommend!

I had been following Juma Kitchens journey on social media for the last few years and finally got to try it. The kubba was amazing and it was incredible to see Iraqi representation. The mushroom chap also converted my friend who thought he hated mushrooms!! Also Philip was lovely with amazing hospitality. 10/10 recommend!!

Went around the Borough Market for a few good hours, tried almost all of the stalls, and this one was definitely a favorite! a huge, warm recommendation for anyone who's looking for incredible food and amazing service! We tried the spinach kubba, lamb kebab and knafa and they were all out of this world.

I had never had Iraki food before and based on this experience I can't wait to taste some more. We had all 4 dumplings and the kubba hamuth (soup dumplings). We also had the lamb kebab. Loved all dishes and particularly the sauces that came with the dumplings.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Juma Iraqi Cuisine, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm smiles and hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful evening. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the Iraqi food itself. We had heard great things, and it exceeded our expectations. The Kuba and kebabs were masterfully cooked to perfection, and each dish burst with flavor, offering a delightful journey through Iraqi culinary traditions. It's rare to find such an authentic taste outside of the region, and Juma truly delivered. One standout element of our meal was the Amba sauce. It was an explosion of tangy and spicy flavors that perfectly complemented the dishes. In fact, it was the best Amba sauce I've ever had, and I couldn't get enough of it. It's a shame they don't sell it separately, as I would have taken a jar home without hesitation. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Juma Iraqi Cuisine to anyone looking to savor authentic Iraqi food in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The chefs warmth and the incredible flavors of the dishes make it a experience you won't soon forget. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the rich culinary heritage of Iraq right here; it's a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

I am so pleased I found this amazing place! We went on a work day out and stopped here for lunch. We had the kebab and tried a kubba or two! The food was so tasty that we booked Philip Juma, the main man for a private dining event for my brothers birthday. The food was 5 star! Watching Philip at work in the kitchen was a fabulous experience. I would highly recommend everyone popping to borough market to try Juma Kitchen or book philip to cook for you for your own event.

We have to travel back for kunafa which I was told needs to be eaten hot ( obvs) so there is an excuse to head back soon 🤍

It is extraordinary, the food, the staff and the place!! I am going again to taste the rest on the menu. The dessert, kanfeh is exceptionally good. The chicken was so tender and the lamb was cooked so well. The mixed platter on the menu is a must try. Keep going guys...

Juma Kitchen, was an amazing dinner experience..... You are welcomed and seated with a cozy ambience - and atmospheric music in the background, which adds even more character to the place. The kitchen is open and provides an inviting feel of being invited to a nice and cozy family dinner where you are taken care of to relax and enjoy.  There is plenty of food choices and specials that you can choose from, which makes you want to come back as each dish tastes amazing to a high standard and has its unique flavours and textures. I have tried Juma's dolma, saffron chicken with rice, fattoush salad, kubba haleb and mushroom chap. Will be back for more to try... Very grateful! Thanks!

MY FAV PLACE! I love this place, its a bit of home away from home. Staff are so so nice too, honestly I’ve seen a lot of them on rotation (frequent customer, me) and they re all so lovely. The food is incredible, at busier times I’ve had my little kubbas burnt but still finger licking edible!!

I was wandering around the Borough Market, sampling various foods here and there, when this place caught my eye. I had never had anything branded as Iraqi food before, so I was like, I Have to try this place. I looked at the menu, talked to the very friendly employee, he called me bro a lot, very warm and inviting, and I decided. Dumplings are like one of my favorite foods, and this place had four different types of dumpling. Sold. There were four different types, and they had a 4 for 10 pounds deal, so I was like, I'll take one of each! I got a Spinach Fatayer, a Mushroom Chap, and a Potato Chap. They were out of the Kubba Haleb, so I got two of the Mushroom Chap. But that was ok, because these were delicious. Very little batter, a ton of filling, and the filling was excellently flavored with various spices and sauces. The guy gave me three dipping sauces with the three dumplings and gave me instructions on which one went with which. I do always appreciate that. Crispy, deliciously mushroomy, crispy potatoes, a little freshness from the spinach, and the very vibrant sauces. So good. Come give these people some pounds.

Lovely place in the borough market. They specialise in Iraqi food. We tried the mushroom chap and spinach fat Ayer and they were really really good! Was too full to order more, but will definitely come here again!

We had the kubba (deep fried food) and three different flavours: whilst they were tasty, the flavours were quite monotonous and the mushroom one I felt was overly salted and was difficult to finish the whole piece. The yellow sauce was nice but the sauces could do with more spices or flavours to differentiate the food.

Started off with two of the kubba/chap: fried rice flour balls with beef and lamb with a mango chutney sauce, and the potato ones with lamb and a tamarind date sauce. Really enjoyed these: great flavour meat filling and both very different. The sauces make them not too dry and give a good kick, would recommend. Then tried two of the specials: the Dolma (stuffed veg with rice and meat) cooked with lamb ribs, and the Hummus with braised lamb shoulder. I thought the dolma would be the star of the night but unfortunately the stuffed veg were good but the lamb ribs were a) almost non existent and b) poor pieces meat and overcooked till dry. On the other hand, the lamb shoulder on the hummus was divine and would definitely take again. Overall the service was alright. Wanted to try the knafeh dessert but they denied because the place was closing at 10, wish they had told us before as our reservation was at 9 so we would have ordered ahead. Also the flatbreads were absolutely not fresh - they might have run out but this was a joke. Lastly, when we arrived at 9, half of the menu was sold out which is not always a bad sign but something to be aware of. Was expecting a big 5 star after reading the reviews, but a 4 it is, all driven by the big delicious flavours.

Absolutely delicious Iraqi food. A real treat. Every mouthful was divine and I can't wait to revisit. Philip Juma is one hell of a talented chef. I highly recommend you stop by if you're visiting Borough Market!

Great food, epic even. Unique flavours and freshly made. Kubbahs and chapps well worth the money, the mango pickle sauce is exceptional. Coal fired kebabs. Just good food, we need more of this and less gimmick places in the world!

It's a good option when in borough market. It was the first time trying Iraqi cuisine and I did leave the place satisfied. Tried chicken tikka, the chicken was very tender and juicy. There are good options to chose from and knafa was definitely on demand observing the orders from others. Well, the bread was quite hard and could have been of better quality I felt. Definitely recommended. If you found the review helpful please do give it a thumbs up. Thanks.

Last week, I celebrated my birthday at Juma. From start to finish it was incredible. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. We loved the Saffron chicken special so much, we ordered it twice. The chef came out to have a chat with us and revealed his secrets of making it. Hearing the amount of effort that goes into each dish, it's no surprise that the end result is that special. The restaurant staff gave me a free knafa as a birthday surprise, which capped a great night. I will be coming back soon!

I tried 3 kinds of kubbas. The best was the potatoes kubba that stuffed with minced beef (or lamb, not sure). Kind staff 👍🏼 Prices are a bit high, but everything in Borough market is pricy.

Juma Kicthen is my favourite stall in Borough Market. Their vegan uroog and aubergine is absolutely delicious. It is sweet with a deliciously crunchy coating. The sauce and salad is also fresh and fantastic. It also comes on top of a fresh flatbread, what more could you ask for? I will be back any time I am in the area, definitely check it out 😊

I recently dined at Juma Kitchen and was absolutely delighted with the experience. The food was excellent, especially the grilled chicken, which was fresh, tender, and perfectly complemented with their chilli sauce - an absolutely marvellous combination. Despite the bustling and packed atmosphere around the Borough Market, it was definitely worth the wait. The vibrant energy added to the overall charm. I highly recommend visiting for a memorable and tasty meal!
