Please try not to inconvenience other people when doing your tours. Its added 20 minutes to a 20 minute journey.

In July 2016, we did a 9-day tour with Back-Roads Touring Co, 'La Belle France'. We travelled in a new and well-maintained mini coach, maximum of 16 people, although there were only 14 of us, a good number. The tour included accommodation, some meals, and, of course, a guide. The tour took us to Normandy, Brittany and The Loire Valley - areas that I hadn't travelled to before. And it was excellent. Our guide, Andy, was very knowledgeable and informative and he brought the history to life again in his colourful descriptions of the places we were visiting. He also, when the weather and time allowed, organised picnic lunches for us, which were most enjoyable and not on the itinerary. This is the first time I have used this company and I would use them again, I cannot recommend them more highly.

Guides highly trained and totally focused on making each person’s experience safe, fun and memorable. They seek out the best opportunities to play hard and rest well. Hands down the best tour company I have experienced.

D-DAY tour was excellent. Very good guide, interesting itinerary, timed just right. Hotel stay was pleasant. Highly recommended.

Currently on a Portugal tour, at this moment on the Douro river cruise. Sad to say but truely don’t bother. Small little boat we are stuck inside no ventilation limited views and you can’t take pictures due to the closed dirty windows

We have just come off a Back Roads Highlights of Britain Tour 2023! Our tour guide and bus driver were amazing! Shabby our guide absolutely created magic for the whole bus! Magnificent itinerary, incredible commentary from young Shabby with music included to pay homage to the districts we were in! 🎶genius! Talk about an experience of a lifetime! A small group means going to the places the big buses can’t and time to get to know your fellow adventurers! I had a wonderful experience touring Italy, this July 2023, with Backroads. Our tour leader was exceptional in her knowledge of all things around us. Our driver did an amazing job under VERY difficult circumstances. Bravo Luciano. The accommodations were fantastic. The provided meals were delicious.(not to mention the wine tasting🍷 or the ‘two a day’ gelato rule🍦, so we won’t)😁 The scenery as we passed through was astounding, particularly Tuscany and then up into the northern mountains. Breathtaking. Thoroughly enjoyable. Roger.

A great company to do an informative UK, Irish or European tour. Max 18 passengers, great small hotels, a personal service from the Tour leader and safe driver. Good food and local Back road experiences travelling to places that the monster impersonal coaches can't get to. Great people on the trip and they become great friends too. Enjoy

Some minor problems with new drivers but otherwise absolutely excellent. Been on 5 or 6 of their trips. Excellent choices ofhotels. Time to wander but guided. On one trip the driver actually steered the bus passed the house where I grew up and stopped(!) so I could take a photo.

Highlights of Britain tour in May 2019. Very enjoyable and will hopefully be back in the future for Eastern and Southern England tour. The tour is more leisurely than other tours which are more rushed.

Just completed the Garden of England tour. It was well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. Our tour leader,Tony Knight was exceptional in his professionalism and interpersonal skills. He added that extra element that makes you look forward to every day.

We just finished “A Scottish Journey” with Back-Roads and had a blast! Our guide and driver were both exceptional.
