I have shopped for about two years at this store for fish and fish supplies. Up until today I would have given 4 stars, but sadly, today I saw SO many sick and dying fish my heart broke. The black moor goldfish: about half were visibly sick, and a good handful were gasping for air, thin, with poor scales, and hardly moving… Betas: I saw a dead Beta in the filter, and many more looking lethargic. See picture three for evidence of this. I bought two black moor fish a long time ago, and one was poorly just like the ones in this tank: I have always been so careful to treat my fish well, and I realise the sickness was not my fault! When the shop that sells them is killing them… I truly am sad to give this review as I have previously had a good experience with some knowledgable staff. Perhaps these staff left and the new staff are responsible for the neglect leading to so many fish being so severely sick. After two years of being a customer, I can say I am disgusted at what I saw in store today. I will not be returning for this reason. The only reason it’s not a 1 star- I have had good customer service over the two years. As a fish lover: please do not support a shop that kills its fish, and has such unhealthy stock. Did not get what dog food I usually get in there today as it was out of stock. It has been out of stock for a week or so now. Shirley, the old woman serving at the till was so rude and ignorant. She was very unprofessional in her approach, grumpy and showed no compassion to a customer who’s just spent £40 in the shop. Definitely don’t recommend doing your shopping here! (The groom room was friendly and professional as always, thanks guys for looking after Bonnie.)

What a lovely place to visit! The staff were absolutely wonderful. Sue spotted my sisters puppy straight away and they all came over for a cuddle. Abbie assisted me with my membership and then helped us find a gorgeous puppy wash and perfume! Apologies for not remembering the grooming ladies name but Bella (the puppy) was biting her name tag. Jan helped us with the flea and worm stuff. All so very kind and friendly, thank you all for doing an amazing job! You all deserve a big pat on the back!

I’m very disappointed with pets At Home. My two dogs (shih tzu’s) were on the pets at home food range until about a year and a half ago when the company decided to change the ingredients so much saying that they had supplier issues and needed to change the food a lot. My dogs couldn’t tolerate the new food because they have very sensitive stomachs so after long discussions with the store people we decided to move over to James Wellbeloved range - which is again one of pets at home brands. They said it was most similar to the food they could no longer supply us with so after weeks we finally got the dogs over onto the new food range and settled and now for the last two months pets At Home have had stock issues with this food and each time I popped into the store I could only purchase 1 small bag. There was very limited stock on the shelf and I kept asking why The shop kept telling me they were just having IT issues now I find out that it’s a bit more serious than that. Today they have only one small bag of food and no idea when more will come I’m about to go on holiday so this is disastrous and they’re telling me again they’ve got supplier issues. What on earth is going on at pets at home and why can’t they just serve a stable supply of dog food so that’s my dogs can be settled on one food We are very disappointed Pets at home if you are listening Some pets have problems with food and cannot easily move from one range to another. So if you offer a food range please ensure you can continue to supply it Thank you Lisa

Took my dog to be groomed here. She returned with flea infestation. Never had fleas in 4 years. £100’s later and weeks gone by before they are gone. Management took no responsibility. Absolutely livid.

I love this shop. It is huge and has everything one can ask for no matter what pet you have. Endless supplies and very helpful and friendly staff.

It's OK, can be better. It was better when it first opens not so much now. Customer service from stop need to know better knowledge of what they're selling. Animal knowledge and care not as good as should be.

Loads of stock when I went (you never know what to expect when you go but this time was great). Quite busy with Xmas pet shoppers and tills ringing. Still miss the chickens though.

I popped in with my husband 15 mins before closing. The staff member Abbie was very helpful and we was out of the store within 15 minutes. She showed me a few new and brilliant products for my kittens and 🥰

The store is lovely. I really got quite excited by the lovely pet displays and all the stuff you need for your pet choices. However, on asking two staff, I got a very uninformed answer. I got a "I guess this should work" type response. Online shopping is even worse. The options are as varied as I seemed to see. Few options, but what they have is voluminous! 😕

Good staff in both store and vets. Can't say too much all of it, but when I got my rabbit back in September from the rehoming section, the women helping me was amazing and seemed to actually care about him

Had a very pleasant visit to this pets at home today. Went to choose a guinea pig as a companion for my lonely piggy after her partner had passed away. Jan was great. She was very informative and happy to find out more details of the guinea pigs age and more. I loved her positive attitude and attentiveness. Would definitely come back.

One of the better Pets at Home Stores as it is usually fully stocked, however I find they never seem to have that one thing I am looking for, the store is very clean, they welcome dogs in store and the staff (as is the case in every PaH store) are always friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, they clearly love animals. The prices are a little high, and the products are very generic compared to what you can find online, I would recommend taking out a VIP card because it sometimes has very good savings.

every time you try to buy a fish, they ask almost 10 questions and if one doesn't agree, they don't sell it because they don't want to go to the trouble of catching the fish! good size aquarium, heat, filter ok, but you have to wait more than 1 week according to them to buy! Only in this store do you have this problem! In another store they don’t make a lot question like this one!

Mathew is so nice staff. He was sooo helpful and is always so humble and nice. All the staff is very nice . I got my fishes from here and mathew really helped us understand all about the care . Thank you Mathew You truly deserve the best position in this company

Been here to get hoppers for my son.....really helpful staff. Good reptile section and staff who have been trained specifically for this specialised area. I looked pretty lost looking at shelves of bugs wondering what size to get? Is a hopper a locust?? Why didn't he get a dog or cat?? 🤣 ....Walked out confident had right bits after talking to staff... the only thing they couldn't help with is why he didn't get a Cat or Dog. Ile let them off with that one 😁

Simply amazing doesn’t matter which branch you go to the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable . A great place to pick up supplies and interact with other pet owners

I had never been to this store and I was surprised by the size and variety of animals and things. I went shopping for fish for my aquarium. fair price! the girls who stay with the fish explain everything: how to keep, food, water etc. you leave the store confident that you will take care of your pet safely. I recommend

Usually a great experience at this store, but I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by Shirley, one of the rudest, most disrespectful cashiers I've ever encountered. Her attitude honestly makes me consider not visiting the store again

Great store with friendly helpful staff. Nice to wander round & see all the animals too. To stop myself from buying loads I usually order online but I needed cat litter before the delivery was due so I ordered for me to collect....... Great service, I notifed them that I was there from my confirmation email and my order was brought out to me & placed in the boot of my car! So easy to use!

Another big warehouse for pet supplies. You'll find everything here from dog to fish supply. I always get my fish stock at this store because the price is reasonable compared to other places especially those you'll find in a garden centre.

Staff are very polite and very helpful. My insects were not in stock but I was told an order was arriving in the afternoon. I received a call to say my order had arrived and would be waiting for me to collect at the till. Excellent customer service.

Brilliant store and received so much help for a first time buyer of an indoor rabbit. Sarah gave us her full attention and answered all the questions we had. A very cute little bunny and she settling is very well and you have made us and her very happy 😊

We went to the store yesterday to buy a tank and various essentials/accessories to prepare for my daughters first small pet fish. They had a great variety of products including lots of well-known character ornaments to put into the tank. The staff in aquatics were very helpful and ensured we got everything set up correctly for the fish we planned to buy the following day. Very informative and friendly. Today we took our daughter to choose the fish. The staff member, Matt, served us and he was amazing with my 5 year old daughter. He went out of his way to choose specific fish for her so she could tell the difference between them and was so welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much for making my daughters day! Went back a week later to get more fish and two shrimp. This time served by another gentleman with brown hair. He was really helpful and amazing at his job. Very informative about every aspect of the shrimp and fish. Thank you again for your help!

The staff was friendly, the store is huge and it has good products at a fair price. I've deducted a star from the rating because at the time I went there looking for dog outfits, the section was small and the available sizes were very limited, most of the clothes being either size XS, L or XL.

Very nice store. Having only used the Waddon branch I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, feeling of space, well stocked. Obviously I will never agree with the cages/tanks they keep the hamsters/guinea pigs and fish in, but this is the nature of chain pet shops. Car park isn't great and the actual shop is a bit of a pain to find off the flyover.

Good store supplying all provisions required for domestic pets; cat, dog, hamster, guinea pig, rabbit, fish, birds etc. Store layout organised into specific pet categories for easier retrieval of supplies. In house Vet situated in bottom far right upon entry. (Have taken pet cockatiels to see in-house Vet (South African vet) who was really both brilliant & knowledgeable in his care of our birds. Appointments required). A small amount of certain species stocked such as: rabbits, hamsters, fish etc. (Used to stock budgies & cockatiels to rear of store, although only fish tanks (with variety of fish) seen on last visit). Free parking available directly in front of store where store trollies also available. Store located on ground floor accessible via steps or ramp to entrance. Staff very polite & helpful. Store kept tidy & clean.

We went for fish in the past and was a good experience. Recently we bought an hamster 🐹. Cassie was very helpful and friendly. She gave us different advices and you can feel her love for the animals! She called us after two days to check if all was good. Very good experience. Thank you 🙏

This place is a much more professional set up than it used to be years ago. The small animals like rabbits etc seem far better cared for with more appropriate environments. Staff welcome you on the way in and when I asked where to find something she took us straight there. There are plenty staff around who approach you to see if you need any help. They also have a help button near the fish so if you can't see anyone around, instead of wandering about looking someone will come and meet you.

Very nice staff and very helpful. Lots of stock. This is my favourite site of all of the pets at home locations. However one time I wanted to buy some fish and the only 2 people trained on looking after and selling animals were with one group of people and there was no one else helping others. We waited 20 minute and they were still waiting till I asked another member of staff who radioed for another person to come out and help us even tho when we first asked we got told they were the only 2 who cold help. Other than that I WOULD RECOMMEND this location!!!
