One of my favourite places to hang out in London! It's widely accessible, many bike stands outside. An absolute gem with beautiful plants and art installations. The conservatory has 1000s of plants in it and is an highlight of the Barbican. The inner open area is also super beautiful and relaxing, with good food choices. We once watched the movie "The Artist" with an orchestra and it was amazing. Always love to come back!

Whether you're at the Barbican to watch a movie, a concert performance or a theatre production, the lakeside terrace is a beautiful place to meet family or friends for a coffee or to just be alone with your thoughts. Surrounded by beautiful architecture, a lake with water features and a coffee shop (barbican kitchen) all at your disposal, one can really appreciate the lakeside terrace for the relaxing spot it truly is.

I used to have lunch in the garden when I worked in Old Street, and always make sure to make for a visit when in the area. Last night I saw "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once" there and couldn't help thinking the last time I was there was for Jeff Mills!! From movies to art, to concerts and more, make the time for a chill by the canal or by the garden, or have lunch at Cote or bring your own at one of the tables, but get to Barbican this summer 🥰❤ You won't be disappointed!! Love, Sis xx #FreakFreely

Love to grab a drink from the theatre bar and sit by the ponds. Lots of people to watch and the odd duck!

A utopia that constantly delivers decade upon decade all it promised. Inner city urban paradise delivering outstanding cultural facilities. Any proposed update needs to enhance (if that was possible) ... hands off our Barbican !

I'd give it 5 stars if only I didn't get lost every time! Not crowded, easy to find seating, nice selection of hot and cold foods. Lovely vibe.

The staff act if they are doing you a favour. Don't buy food and a hot drink - one will be cold

Nice building and seated areas. Big down side was the very poor vegan food options. Only one type of filled roll and a flap jack. The roll its self was very good, but would have like a choice. Coffee was also good with a choice of non dairy 'milks'

Interesting brutalist architecture, waterways and planting behind the Barbican. Overall an oasis of calm.

Busy but lovely as usual. The sun was shining, there was space by the water and the ducks were well fed. The amenities in the Barbican are closeby and convenient. Accessible entrance and toilets are also available.

One of the best places in London. It is so beautiful: the architecture, water sounds and greenery all contribute to the You feel isolated inside a small ecosystem and forget the hustle and bustle of the outside crazy world.

A lovely tranquil public space at the city of London. Even without visiting the Barbican centre itself, it is a great place to meet by the water and enjoy the atmosphere.

We had dinner at The Bonfire restaurant after the show. Very attentive staff. Excellent burgers. Extremely tasty. I had the Avo burger which included avocado. Delicious.

Barbican Centre visitors must visit this man made lake with cascade, terrace, cafe to say hello to resident waterfowl. It's an urban oasis with plenty of outdoor seating and strolling surrounded by famous Brutalist arts complex with all cultural events of top quality. You need flesh air on arrival in The City, or after heady input. (Only Barbican human residents can use private garden though)

Beautiful, peaceful place to have a drink or meet friends, especially before a show at the theatre. Cafe options for coffee/wine etc. Lots of seating available. Very calm.
