100% the worst place I have stayed, the temperature of the rooms & corridoor is comparable to a sauna. A poorly functioning fan is provided which doesn't help the problem. Our room stated no window which was fine and we chose this but there was in fact a window and on the other side was a random utility room/corridoor that anyone could see through. The blind to cover it did not reach the bottom so anyone could look through at any point. The bedside table fell apart, there are splatter marks up the side of the wall. We did communicate about the heat and were told a fan is provided, it was more hassle trying to get them to understand the room is not habitable so we ended up leaving the call there. The bed was horrid and on impact it felt like sitting on bricks. If you want just a room with a bed and you're so tired that you don't care about anything else, maybe book this. If you want to sit in a depressing, boiling and lifeless room, book it up. Before the company comment saying this is not a genuine review I would be happy to provide the maximum amount of proof to say I stayed here over the weekend.

One word: avoid. Unfortunately we booked in a hurry and hadnā€™t checked reviews. Main problem was that the window is not sealed, letting in a huge draftā€”the room was the same temperature as outside, and no amount of heating would help. Tiny, dirty room just a little bigger than the bed. Toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. Shower was ripped off the wall. Lots of paint peeling. Noisy housekeeping, noisy street. Thankfully we left, booked another hotel last-minute, and got a refund.

The good - Room was clean and fresh and the bed big and comfortable. The staff I met were helpful. The communal areas were in good condition when I was there. The location is great and overall I think it represents good value for money. You'd be looking to pay at least twice as much for a double room in any other hotel in that area. The bad - Their communication was poor. I got sent two emails with telling me that my room was in two different places. When I got there BOTH those rooms were already occupied. I called and left a voicemail, about 20 mins later a staff member who I think was living in the building? Came down and after telling me a few times that he was helping me even though he wasn't on his shift any more *insert thanks through gritted teeth here* he put me in another room that I had been given no details for. I couldn't find any instructions on how to connect to the WIFI so I emailed them but never got a response which was annoying. These rooms are NOT sound proofed. The main entrance door repeatedly jammed and at one point broke completely. Though it was fixed quickly.

Very loud, hot rooms, didnā€™t realise when booking all rooms arenā€™t the same like the photos on their site. The shower guard was also too small and the water poured over the floor hence so many towels. Called and they offered a partial refund due to not realising the photos didnā€™t reflect what lower ground rooms look like. Would ask for a non lower ground floor or basement room next time

The rooms were not cleaned. Mirrors and screens were defective. The doors did not open with the codes and website as they should. The check-in was delayed for a long time because the rooms were not ready at the agreed time. You can't speak to a member of staff or ask for help, you have to contact them by phone and wait 5-10 minutes for them to get back to you. The information on the booking page did not match the inventory and the offer of the hotel. At least the location is very good and you can reach everything quite quickly.

Booked this without reading the reviews. After reading them, I was a little concerned about staying. However, spent 2 nights here and I couldnā€™t fault it. Everything worked as it should, it was clean, comfortable, in a great location and very reasonably priced. Had an issue with being sent the wrong room number, however, when I called them, they called back with 10 mins and resolved the issue. Only fault I would say is the rooms are quite small, however, if you donā€™t intend on staying in your room all day and night, then itā€™ll be spot on šŸ‘

Towels were dirty. One even had a brown stain on it. The room temperature fluctuated from normal to sauna, even with the window opened. The last morning the shower did not work. When I called the service number they promised to fix things and call back but they never did. This is an average Youth Hostel with hotel prices.

I don't understand why this has such bad reviews. If you book on their website you can make sure you're getting the sort of room you expect and that's the main reason people are so upset it seems. The room was nicely decorated, very clean and comfy. It was exactly what we needed for the short time we were there and the money we saved on staying here we were able to spend on other things. Some of the other people staying in the building were a bit loud but with the door closed you could barely hear them and it's no worse than in a normal hotel. We chose a room with a window and the views were surprisingly really good. The area doesn't look the best but we didn't actually feel unsafe at all and walked around quite a bit. The Tesco across the road made it even more convenient. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the stay and would recommend this place and also probably stay here again if we visit London again.

Possibly the worst place I have stayed in, after all the problems with the booking ( done via a work colleague) we arrived to the property that was not in the most desirable areas, after managing to get entry to the room that at first impression looks great we started to find how dirty and cheaply the property was , first the sofa was very soiled with burn holes on the cushion the bedside table and occasional table by the sofa look like pound land bargains that were all wobbly then the walls were full of stains and marks along with the ceiling the work surface in kitchen area was all stained around the sink area, then the bathroom.... Omg no soap in the sink dispenser, the hooks on the back od the door were filthy (little chair things) the toilet brush holder was full of water and fell to bits when the brush was removed leaving all sewage water over the floor.... The list goes on and on this is a genuine review and I have pictures to provide all this

The 5 stars are for their customer service who were very responsive and accommodating with my scheduling problems, and the helpful cleaning crew. The rooms are very small (7m2) but clean, and the beds are comfortable. Given the low cost (compared with others in the area), it is perfectly fine if all you need is a place to sleep and not much else. No elevator to upper floors. I'll stay again.

This is a budget hotel which operates a self check-in system. The rooms are modern and clean. The location is next to a busy road and so there is traffic noise.

Good stay here with easy quick check in/out as there is not service desk as its all on the phone. Rooms are clean and room service was daily and responded to our requests. Rooms provided with tea, coffee and Border biscuits Rooms are good enough for a night or 2 but wouldn't recommend for a long stay or if you are 6ft+ as the rooms are really small! the bed is situated in a loft type area where there are very steep steps and a very low roof. Shower was good, with a rain shower option 2 smart tvs, one in a sitting area and one in the bedroom area Good location, paid Ā£150 per night

It was okay. The check-in process is a bit confusing. I booked through a third party app so did not get the email. I called support and the lady was helpful and got me sorted so that's good.

My expectations, having read some other reviews, were not high but on arrival I was most definitely underwhelmed considering the price I paid. The electronic access worked well (allowing access from 15.00) and likewise for my 3rd floor room. The interior of the property looked dirty, room laundry was left bagged up on the hallways and the stair carpet was threadbare in most areas. The room itself was tiny but just about manageable, however the lack of a desk to work from was frustrating. There was no plug in the sink. I called the customer service number and reported this. Despite being promised that this would be sorted for me straight away, no action was taken. The mezzanine bedroom is accessed by a staircase so steep that only the most agile person is able to scale it and the angle of it is frankly dangerous. LED lightings strips were fitted alongside the steps but were not plugged in rendering them useless and leaving the stairs in pitch black through the night. This set up should not be allowed and was a serious accident risk. Plug socket locations were awful, requiring an extension lead to be used just to switch on the kettle. The tea and coffee offering (with biscuits) was perfectly acceptable though. My last observation is that none of the portable electrical items (kettle, fan, hiardryer etc) appeared to have been PAT tested as they had no stickers. I felt uneasy about this - a hotel with no staff on site with untested electrical items did not sit easy and for the reasons mentioned above I would not stay at the property ever again.

Room size wasn't exactly amazing for Ā£200 per night for a double room but it was clean, the location is very good as its right on a street full of restaurants, tattoo parlours and there's a greggs literally opposite, gower Bridge is a 15min walk down the road.

The room has no window, the toilet smell was very bad before even we used it. A very small room with dirty walls. Very overpriced.

There are water stains on the wall and the humidity is very high and doesn't even deserve a star. The hotel isn't worth 80 pounds per night

Easy self check in procedure. I think we were the only ones on our floor. Given the smallest room for quite a big price. Bathroom was freezing cold and got some plants growing along the crack of the bathroom door. Great customer service as we called for room service, the room and bathroom looked spanking new like the day we checked in, although I think my hair pins were thrown away. Tough to sleep due to outside noise, literally sounded like the window was open. Other than that, for 2 nights, it was satisfactory.

I went to this hotel and there was no reception over there it doesn't seem as nice as they put on the website. So I discuss I refund. After the discussion I noticed I won't be able to get the refund so I choose to live there. However I did not enter because I did not receive the code. Very bad service. Don't go. The video can prove I did not receive the code.

Very basic, the room we stayed in didn't even have a remote for the TV and lacked regular tea bags. No reception, which is a mixed bag. The room is small and windowless, so even though it's cheap and cheerful . Also daily housekeeping didn't happen, and the rooms aren't soundproofed like they advertise - I feel like for the money you don't get a lot at all.

We arrived at the hotel and used the codes sent to us to get into the building and our room, which we found fairly easy to do. Weā€™ve stayed in other places using these door locks so wasnā€™t new to us. The hotel doesnā€™t have staff as it is self service, but there are hotel phones you can use to contact them if you need to. Rooms were nicely decorated and most importantly bed was nice and comfy. Overall we had a really nice stay and would definitely come back.

A total living night mare from start to finish and I will shout from the roof tops to tell anyone who will listen not to book and stay at this hotel The process when booking via booking .com was smooth and easy. When the hotel became involved it became a living nightmare. I was emailed & told online checkin not complete. I callled and the guyI spoke to started to talk over me when I was trying to explain what my problem was & then whn i callenged him about not letting me ntalk he told me my booking would be cancelled if I carried on being agressive. I asked to speak to his Manager and he told me he was the onlynone there. He then put the phone down, so i called back and lo and behold he ha been lying as someone else answered the call who was very helpful. Whatnis difficult is their website is in my opinion not at first opening easy to navigate & requires full concentration. I am doctor in an extremely busy A&E Department so I don't have the time to dedicate to a hotel booking which in this care was well over an hour. When caling the hotel again 2 separate peole told me that nobody else that day had told them their website is not particulary user friendly to which the response was nobody else had complained . Both responses were delvered to me in different styles , the helpful guy who i spoke to was very pleasant in his manner, howerver the one who was originally rude (James I later found out his name if that was his real name ) almost spat the words out and growled that nobody else had said making it as though I was thick, both however not grasping that it needed only one person to say something and their website ws not easy. What is worth mentoning is that clicking on their link when checking on does not automatically open what is njeeded you have to manually copy & paste into your search bar (something I know my mother would not know what to do if it were here booking). What is also woth mentioning is the booking ref with booking.com is not the bookng ref to use when online check in with hotel once I eventually realised this the process became easier. Their policy of no non guests in room after 11 pm - briliant I thought . rubbish in reality as I spent the whole night awake due to dors banging and loud speaking from a number of different voices - far to many for the rooms on the floor I was staying. I asked the hotel when emailing to say I had checked out for the name of the CEO/COO and was told they would forward when I said I said i had other things to raise I got complete silence. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY & RUDE STAFF IN THE MIX

Couldnā€™t even stay here for one night due to the appalling condition of the room. The staff agreed to give a refund but lied and misdirected about how to do so. They hang up when you ask for contact information on how to take this further. This is without a doubt the worst place I have ever been. Avoid at all costs.

The good: - amazing location, only a 12 min walk to the Shard, surrounded by cafes and restaurants with a convenience store across the street and a few mins away from the very trendy area of Bermondsey Street - big comfortable bed - newly renovated bathroom - very high ceilings with a skylight - building and room access via phone, works great! - high speed internet - very clean - cure little rooftop patio The bad: - the Cave is literally that - no windows and barely enough room to open up a carry-on suitcase - you can have things delivered there but you need to provide the door code and leave specific instructions for the carrier - there's no foyer nor common area as the office space is for rent next door in a seperate building - on my last day there was no hot water. Video calling for support got no response - tv signal was very glitchy - no daily room cleaning - only ran into someone working there once during my stay So basically a place to sleep and take a shower (hopefully). That's quite it. So somewhere between a hotel and a hostel I'd say. A decent value though.

Filthy, shower bunged up with guns and hair, one of shower doors missing therefore water running into sleeping area. No socket for kettle, stains on sheets, quilt bottom sheet, I donā€™t know about the mattress as cover no removable. Shelves side of bed about to fall wall. No towel or safe as stated.

Booked with lastminute.com. Arrived without being given any info to a lobby with no staff. So we were left out on the cold trying to find a way in. I was told I did something wrong when booking by them. The next night I found a new guest waiting in the cold. They'd booked with Airbnb, so something's wrong their end. Other than that the room listing online is misleading. Rooms aren't sound proof. Fully furnished kitchen had 1 fork, a spoon and no clearing up tools. So it was unable. No robes. Very lackluster experience. Wouldn't recommend.

When arriving there was no one to speak to and no instructions to check in waited 10 minutes faffing around with an app, to then finally the only member of staff to show up, all the doors are sticky and have to be forced open, the windows donā€™t open slightly, the room says to be serviced daily with new towels but not once were they changed, the hallway has an awful smell throughout, rooms said to be soundproof but can hear everyone in the building talking, most notably the double room I got was tiny just big enough to fit the bed and no where to put clothes or bags, no reception just a phone number to call, rubbish was left around the halls and the entrance is obscurely placed down an alley to the side of the building and finally the windows have to seal to them at all letting all the sound of the busy road outside in aswell as a draft during the nights. Absolutely appalling and nothing like the example pictures would not recommend at all I promise you!

Hotel changed us from a duplex to a 12 square foot room, didnā€™t even call us or email to tell us. Arrived late at night as a family of 3 with a 5 year old. We had to book another hotel for a large cost to us and also paid for 2 taxis. We didnā€™t stay in the room for longer than 5 minutes. Hotel said they would refund us, 9 weeks later they still have not refunded. Everytime I call I either get told to call back or nobody answers. The last time I spoke with someone he put the phone down on me twice. Laughed at me and constantly talked over me. Supposedly put our refund through but booking.com have confirmed they havenā€™t bothered. I have worked in the travel industry for 11 years previously and this is hands down the worst customer experience I have had the misfortune to come across. These guys are liars and have no duty or care.
