Went into this store with my young daughter wanting to get a pet (Guinea pig or hamster). I asked an employee if she could help us in choosing a pet and she said someone would be with us, we waited ten minutes or so but neither the lady nor anyone else came to help. So we went to the checkouts, waited in line and then asked if anyone could help us, there were two people behind the counter and they said someone would come to help us. We waited to the side so they could serve other customers but no one came to help us. After a while the man told us to go wait in the back area, I told him that’s where we were waiting for the other lady who said she would help but she never did but he still told us to go there. So we went back and waited for a long time again but still no one came to help. There was not even anyone around there. Eventually we left feeling very dejected. I saw many other positive reviews so I don’t know why we were treated this way. Will not be returning here, rather I’ll try smaller independent stores. Based on my experience, if you want help buying a pet go elsewhere, but if you just want to purchase products for your pet, and don’t need to speak to anyone, then it seems fine.

Absolutely pointless store for cat food unless you want the basic whiskers garbage! More holes in the shelves than a colander and all the healthier cat food is no where to be seen. The stock levels are a joke basically. Staff friendly, but ultimately there’s no point coming here for your cat because you’ll only be able to get whiskers or other basic supermarket food for them, only often more expensive.

would advise any fish keepers to not use this shop. I have a lovely aquascape and just needed a few male guppies as any females were rehomed. I didn’t want to travel all the way to Maidenhead aquatics so went here. With the guppies, the lady told us the fish would be waiting for us at the till expecting us to just leave her too it. It is not normal practice to select fish without me seeing which one your bagging I know this as I’ve got fish many times, at different pets at homes. My tank is fully established since my last change and I obviously want to just, at least, look at the fish to make sure there are no deformities, fin rot or white spot that I can see. I was frustrated by the fact that when watching the lady commented “you’re keeping close eye on Me” in a sarcastic tone. after I asked for a different fish and she She gave me 5 instead of 6 so I had to ask for her to rectify that. Worse pets at home I’ve ever been too. Such a shame that they don’t value fish the same as other pets. Would advise everyone to steer clear fish wise unless you want random fish in bad condition.

Has a smell when you first walk in. Not something I've noticed at other pets at homes. Also I fear the fish and other live aninals sold there are crammed into tanks. Definitely overcrowded. Please buy some fish from here, they are beautiful and extremely friendly! The kind that follow your hand around the tank and interact with you!

This is a review just for a groom room not the store itself. Horrible service. Have a cockapoo and groomers always want to go easy way and shave my dog completely. No matter if she’s not matted. One small spot that can be brushed they use as an excuse for full shave. Also, staff very rude. It’s like a proper big company service where staff are slacking off work which I think should be done with more dog care and love involved. Avoid at any cost. Your dog will not be looked after as it deserves here.

Couldn't trim my dogs nails co's I hate hearing him cry even before I touched the nail with the clippers so nails and a bath at pets at home. Dont know how but they sorted it in under an hour and the lady said he was no problem.

I'm sick and tired of this place. They really need to sort out their shelf stocks. Every time I come in here they're down to the bare bones with royal canin cat food and applaws. They only stock like 4 or 5 flavour of lily's kitchen and the cat litter is a hit or miss. I went in today and half the shelves were empty yet there were lots of staff just wandering around shop floor. They put the most incompetent people on tills, this girl didn't even bother trying to look for the barcode on the bag before giving up and asking the supervisor. Like get it together it's not hard. Sick of having to order everything online because these people don't bother to put stock out.

Great shop. I adopted a ridiculously anxious cat so am often here stocking up on calming pheromone sprays & toys that will be studiously ignored. Staff always knowledgeable/helpful. Zero complaints :-)

Been to this store multiple times and the staff are always friendly and helpful and especially today Alex & Charlotte were extremely helpful and we can’t thank them enough! The store always has a good variety of choices for our Dog as well. We will be back soon!!

Great staff. Not a massive store so does it carry all the stock of larger stores. Also does not have a vet. Groomers are really good.

Always love coming here with the dogs. They are always very helpful in here and generally have a good selection for all pets. They also offer pet grooming should you need this. Good for getting regular supplies. Parking available outside the store.

Nice store lovely stuff many things overpriced but is ok sometimes not always you can get vouchers or sale But They don’t have so much knowledge about some dangerous stuff for animals Treated my cat using this after seeing it in store, making sure to follow all of the instructions. Our cat has been foaming at the mouth, drooling and suffering for hours PAH IS are aware of that BUT STILL RECOMMENDING to people disgusting

Can't fault it, awesome team who really go the extra mile to help their customers. The store itself was spotless, organised and easy to navigate, came out with some quality items to keep the cat happy and cares for, under great recommendations from the staff, they even helped me sign up and get 10%. Will forever be returning :)

First as you enter there are 2 dog bowls full of water for pets. Large selection of toys and food. Great little store friendly staff who smile and make conversation. Also you are allowed to take your pets into the store. Very happy thanks guys 😊

Use this store regularly. Went today on an urgent anti flea mission and spoke to two very helpful members of staff. One of whom has completed training in flea eradication and gave us lots of helpful info that left us itchy but much wiser. Also, very helpful, honest cashier giving info on the grooming services. They’re really helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Pets at home should be proud!

Visited the store for the first time last week to purchase some bits for my cat. Good size store. Great variety of toys, although I did expect there to be a lot more different food brands. Staff had good knowledge of the products and services. Nice experience overall, although a shame they have stopped doing NHS discount.

Good but sometimes it’s hard to find a worker to help with getting flee medication, was once standing waiting around after asking for like 20 minutes but I can understand when it gets busy it gets hecktic and I did go on a Saturday so. I’ve worked in retail I know how it can get

Good shop with good stock. Just a note that dogs are often off the leash in the store, so if you(like me) are scared of dogs, you may want to avoid it

I bought a hamster and I really appreciated that one of the sales assistants (Charlotte) she first inquired about the correct management for the hamster (minimum cage size 100x50, wheel etc.) and then sold me the hamster. every store should have this policy to prevent these small animals from being sacrificed in small and unsuitable cages

A wide variety of pet products to choose from at very low prices, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They offer their assistance but do not pester you or try to up sell you on stuff you don't need. highly recommended! I will be returning :)

I would like the store more if they stock a bigger range of insects for our bearded dragon and the staff even seemed interested

The staff were very knowledgeable & friendly, the store itself was easy to find & although small it was well stocked. We bought 6 lovely little fish, but alas they all died within 3 days....we checked the water with the usual '7 test' testing strips and all was well with the water and temperature. 🤷‍♂️

Helpful staff and a decent selection of cat and dog food. Have a couple of small mammals in the shop and a good selection of fish to buy.

Nice shop for pet owners. We have a cat and a dog and they always have what we need. Occasionally we have to opt for different food if they haven't got our usual in stock.

I found the staff both helpful and friendly! I was able to find nuts for the squirrels , wild bird food as well as the cat food- he is not allowed out when i'm feeding the wildlife! 😃

On site parking although only a few spaces. Good stock of pet products for a wide range of pets at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a pet friendly shop.

Nice pets at home, good selection but often out of stock of the most popular items, staff are always helpful and give plenty of advice if you need it, even if they can be hard to find sometimes! For its location a good shop with a surprising range for the size.

The store is always clean, the staff are always helpful and friendly and you rarely have to queue for long. Good opening times. The only thing that lets it down is a sporadic service for dog grooming.

I've been going to this pet shop ever since I got my cat, and they've had everything I need to make sure he's got a happy life in my human house. They have a great selection of cat toys, a good selection of nutritious cat food and so far I've had a wonderful experience with the staff that work there and they're always helpful and on hand to give advice when needed.

First visit and I found Lots of choice instore: food, toys and accessories. And grooming services available. I have signed up to deliveries of monthly flea/worm treatments for my pup. Very handy. I will be visiting again before Xmas for something little for them too 😂

Love this store, found anything I needed by asking the staff quickly! Parking available. Only downside I see for me is as I have a cat, there are less cat products compared to dog products.

We got a pet hamster and they gave us really good advice plus they made sure we had an idea of how to care for it and all the pet needs which it speaks of care for their welfare as well. They were v busy on Saturday afternoon, we had to ask a couple of times for help to get the pet but when they were actually there for us, the staff were really committed.

I'm very disappointed with this store in regards to the range they have for cats- basically not much at all except cat food. I like to buy a certain brand of 20L cat litter, but every time I go, they seem to be out of stock. Also, besides grooming brushes, the fact that they have no grooming products for cats, not even dry shampoo, is awful! If you are a dog owner, then definitely more items available, but extremely limited for cat owners. Not sure about other products, albeit I have seen a small food section for reptiles and rodents etc My 2 stars are really for the staff members as every encounter with them have been extremely pleasant, and they are very kind and welcoming.
