Stayed in the standard private room as a couple for 6 nights. This place has some pros and cons but I think it was great for what we were looking for. It offered the same pricing as a low level hotel for (I think) a bit better product and a good location because it is a "hostel" or a "low-service" hotel. If you're good with that, it might be right for you too. Location for us was perfect: outside of the main touristy areas, right by a tube, and very walkable direct area. Would happily stay in this area again. Rooms are small but decently equipped. Found the bathroom to be plenty large actually and had everything we needed (including a hairdryer on loan). If you're just going to be sleeping there, it's great. Very clean and cozy for when you're ready to sleep. Hotel itself is interesting. No real reception. Staff were helpful in a sense but not particularly friendly. Some space on floor 0 in the restaurant to do work but it's quite loud sometimes. Hallways upstairs feel a bit weird and dark but I think it's a style choice? Basement was pretty cozy and offered some lounge seating but we couldn't get the lights to turn on. Kitchen was good for grabbing some tea in the morning (free) but didn't try cooking. Seemed like it could be a bit cleaner. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again for a similar trip but if you're looking for a full service hotel, something that would be comfy to lounge in for many hours during the day or something within direct, fast walking distance to the major tourist sites, look elsewhere (but also expect to pay a lot more!)

I stayed in ‘The Suite’ which is actually just a decent-sized double room, with an en-suite bathroom. There was no seating area or adjoining rooms, so it’s not what you’d generally think of as a “suite”. Whilst the room was ok - clean and with a nice ambience - for £264 a night, it was not that well appointed. For example, there was no kettle and no tea/coffee making facilities of any kind in the room. The hotel itself is perfectly situated if you’re attending an event at the Roundhouse as the venue is literally just across the road (see photos). The main reason for awarding only 2 stars is that I was woken just after 4am by a lorry and forklift truck right below the windows. 2 men were unloading pallets of fresh fish for the neighbouring fish wholesaler. This whole process went on for about an hour between 4am and 5am. After a late night, I hadn’t expected to wake up so early and consequently have such a poor night’s rest. Obviously, these deliveries may only happen infrequently and I might just have been unlucky to have stayed on a night when a delivery was made.

Honestly, not great 😬 I should have known at the get-go, when the luggage storage room was the disabled restroom. I was in the 8-bed shared room (all mixed gender). Check in was fine, the rooms don't have lockers and there was barely any room to open your bag. The bathroom in the room was pretty clean. The beds were fine and comfortable, but you can hear the person above you shuffle around because the only thing separating you is the bed slats. I ran out of luck when it came to roomies and the guy above me was a nightmare! Clothes everywhere, coming in at 12 am and turning on the lights, stomping around etc. I ended up staying 2/3 nights because I couldn't handle the lack of sleep, but that's not the hostel's fault. I appreciate that it was near the tube and I adored the neighbourhood!

I made a room reservation less than two days ago to travel to London with my mother (I live in Edinburgh). I booked and paid the down payment required. Today, my mother fell very ill and needs to head home to the USA, where she lives instead of going to London. I canceled the trip (and was refunded my train tickets in full!) and tried to call and explain the situation to see if I could get a refund for the hostel. We even have doctors notes to prove the validity of our reason for cancellation. In short, my mother is dying. I called the number listed online - it is out of service. There are no refunds - meaning after paying the required £30 deposit, I was charged an additional £173 today for a trip I cannot take. Money that could be better used elsewhere during such a time. I have been booking with Hostelworld (where I booked this) since 2016, and have never had a non-refundable, no reasons accepted policy, and no available communication with the hostel. Bad service. We just booked it less than 48 hours ago, cancelled it over a week in advance and have a family emergency. You'd think a little leniency would apply in such a case, but I cannot only not get a refund - I cannot even speak to a live person. I understand no refunds on the same day, or a no-show or within 24 hours. I even understand no refunds for frivolous reasons. But no communication with your customers and not accepting a refund for a terminally ill would-be customer is just not a company I want to do business with. I hope you enjoy my £204 fee for a room my mother and I won't get to use eight days from now; a room booked only two days ago.

Overpriced - NOT value for money for sure. I booked 2 nights in a private room - paid 600$ (!!!) - which is way more than any other accommodation, regardless to any circumstances. I travel a lot, both work and vacations, and this location is on the bottom of my list - You can't charge like a fancy hotel and deliver like a cheap hostel. The room is decent, but has no proper space to put your stuff. I barley had a space for my suitcase to be open. The acoustics is terrible and you can hear everything that happens in the next door rooms or the hallways. I woke up on Sunday at 8:00 AM because the cleaners were talking very loud between themselves in the hall. Same thing when the cleaning guy had to clean a room around 12-1 AM (what?...) and was super loud so I couldn't sleep. I open the door to see what's going on and he said "sorry, I'll be done soon". Why would you clean so late at night anyway? Very annoying. Location - you're super close to the tube, but keep in mind that you'll hear everything that happens down the streets, including traffic and next door bars. The team - I was welcomed by David, who was super nice and helpful. However, the others weren't so welcoming and there's a lack of hospitality. Having a branded place with over 150 locations worldwide is great. But besides marketing, you should also know how to run it in a way that makes people come back for the second time.

I recently stayed at Selina Camden & Cowork in Chalk Farm, London, in September 2023 and it was an extraordinary experience. Becky and Adam, two standout staff members, provided exceptional service. Becky's warm welcome and helpfulness made me feel valued, while Adam's local knowledge enhanced my stay. The hotel's spacious, clean rooms, top-notch amenities, and strict safety protocols further impressed me. Thanks to Becky and Adam, my stay exceeded expectations. I look forward to returning to Selina Camden & Cowork for another delightful experience. Highly recommended!

Incredible location close to the Camden Market and the Underground. The rooms are clean and pleasant, and even in the shared dormitories the beds have panel walls to give you a sense of privacy. Definitely 10/10

The shared bathroom was filthy, not clean, not cleaned with water all over the floor and serves 10 guests!!!! It’s one thing to have shared bathrooms but another entirely different thing to not ensure that they are spotless for use . As a medical profession this is not acceptable at all as this level of hygiene can spread contagious diseases. Rooms do not have wardrobes or adequate storage for clothes (just 4 hangers in the wall) and had no place to store any valuables. The description omitted this and the fact that the room faced an active and noisy construction site as well. Complained about this and checked out immediately after seeing the room as it was uninhabitable. The hotel neither offered an apology and insisted on doing half a refund yet the issue was with the hygiene of the hotel, despite multiple emails including to the Country Selina Director who saw it fit to not respond. I would not recommend Selina Camden at all.

Amazing rooms. Really cute interiors. Why I didn’t give it 5 stars: no proper coworking space. (I’ve stayed at over 20 Selina’s and this is the only one so far that doesn’t have a proper quiet space to work) but atleast you can still work from the vegan cafe restaurant. I also wish there was a proper front desk and a wellness space to do yoga (they have it, just not great). Other than that, feels like a hotel without being the price of one around here! Plus great area!

I stayed in one of the 8 bed community rooms. The room itself was excellent, clean, and I thought the mattress and bedding were comfortable. The AC was nice and the shared bathroom was kept clean. I found the staff to be a bit odd and they just seemed aloof a lot of the time. When waiting for my breakfast one morning I was asked “do you want something?”. I also think one of the workers was staying in the room which was fine but he never introduced himself or really said anything. If you know what your plans are in London and exactly what you’re going to do I think this is a great option. However as a solo traveller I found the social atmosphere rather non existent, I knew it wasn’t intended as a party hostel, but if you were interested in meeting people / fellow backpackers I would advise going elsewhere.

Outstanding!!! Honestly. I turned 40 this year and when I went to hostels 20 years ago, they did not come like this… well done Millenials, you guys are reinventing hostels in a great way. We had a Christmas surprise of no hot water and no heating and needed a place to stay for myself, my husband, a 2, 4 year old. And a French bulldog! Not only did they check us all in at 11am but everyone was so amazing! The kids absolutely adored the bunk beds too and my husband and I had a great nights sleep on beautifully clean and crisp white linen. The downstairs area is amazing. Vegan restaurant and then a chill out tech free zone in the basement. I couldn’t be more chuffed and at a reasonable price too! Location excellent.

I’m starting with the bad. The staff. One in particular, who yelled at me for asking a simple question. After I checked out, I wanted to store my bags for a couple of hours, which they said was fine. I asked where to put them and the receptionist pointed in the general direction of a staff only door. I poke my head in and see it’s a small hallway with three doors. I asked “just put my bags in here?” She yelled “YES!!” Very annoyed and very rude. I’m sorry I didn’t want to just leave my bags in front of a door, much less in a random hallway! She was the worst out of all the rude staff. Maybe two or three were nice but the rest were just awful to deal with. Only reason I’m giving this place a second star is because of how close it is to the tube and the room was clean.

Beautiful hostel in a perfect location. Rooms are clean and beds super comfortable. There’s a really cool bar and they have awesome weekly events, the food’s super tasty. Even if you’re not a guest from the hostel it’s a must if you’re around! Best part of my stay was the staff, they are super friendly and nice. The vibe at the hostel is just perfect! Will for sure come back!

Front desk sometimes manned, sometimes not, rude staff, no efficiency. Room looked nice at first, but was dirty. Dirty sheets, unclean floors, mould in showers. Rubbish communication. Location and free yoga was fab but the service etc was very poor. I'd book elswhere for sure

The good - hotel is in good location , food is good, it’s clean nice design and the kitchen is a great bonus. The bad - room is small , no closet for clothes, room service was not every day for some reason, it’s very expensive, the service is non existent, there’s 1/2 very nice young boys and girls that are trying to be receptionists but don’t know anything really , they can’t help in anything you need. In all Pretty disappointing for such a high price ....

It was sufficient for a couple of days, I guess, but I didn’t love it here. A lot of noise from the hallway, the room next door, and the pub across the street. Absolutely barebones room, lacking numerous items you typically expect in a hotel room. The shower was scalding hot and the water temperature was not adjustable (perhaps the fixture was broken?). The desk staff are not around, most of the time. The restaurant was incredible, though.

The location is amazing but I found the staff to be incompetent (bed changed every time without me knowing, my stuff got cleared out during my stay, poor communication between people from different shifts). One of the staff from the night shift was also not pleasant, others were nice Also very expensive for a hostel ~100£ per night

Hi This is Osama speaking regarding the stay at your hotel in Camden I would like to leave a complaint with you guys regarding your company I have checked in into your hotel and I got offered room 105 for my 1 night stay we went to the room and the things that we found that does not work Are: TV Bathroom door doesn’t lock Light bulb does not work AC doesn’t work in the room Also we had the welcome drink which took about 20 min to be served The breakfast was absolutely slow and once we had our food which came after 30 to 40 min of wait time we received everything separately and it was cold and horrible to eat and the coffee took about 20 min after we ordered we did not like the food what so ever! I had very bad experience at your hotel as I’m leaving I spoken to one of the senior staff members explained everything to them regarding this situation and what happened and they said to me will offer you free voucher stay to redeem via email and they have said we apologise but yet I have not received not a single email from you guys !! And in top of that I have emailed them and they haven’t responded funny enough which is the email that I booked my reservation with !

I booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos available on Google Maps. Sad to say…we were catfished. This hotel is very run down, low quality, walls are paper thin, and staff are exceptionally rude (with the exception of one lady at the check in desk). If I was able to cancel day of I would have as everything was a turn of from the moment we stepped into the front door. From dismissive staff, to a really bad “luggage storage” room and horrible check in. I definitely will not be staying at this location again, and will consider not staying at another Selina branded hotel either. Massively disappointing

Selina Camden is a polished, luxurious hostel with excellent staff. Adam, who checked me in, was amicable and thorough; bringing me to my room and showing me all the necessaries, including the service of a welcome drink. I spoke to a young Canadian working the bar, as well, who was very friendly. A most fastidiously clean hostel, with lots of light and space. Good decor.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Clean with very good Wi-Fi . The windows are good enough to ensure the noise from the street stays out. Staff is really helpful. We loved the room, the interior design. On the last day we tried the vegan restaurant. It was very tasty. There are many public transportation options in the area

Restaurant staff are extremely rude. My friend was having a drink in the venue waiting for me and we planned to eat there. When I got there I didn’t fancy the food available so my friend decided to pay for her drink and we would move on elsewhere. The man who came over was very friendly until she said she wanted to pay and didn’t want anything else. He sent someone else over to take payment who was so snappy, if we hadn’t already been planning to leave I would have left. These people might want to learn the basics of customer service, it’s a nice venue but their attitude means I’ll never go there again

Avoid avoid avoid. Not a place for adults or anyone that values quality. The reception staffer Jordan was awful and rude. Not a friendly chap. The rooms are small and low quality. Nice on the surface- terrible in reality. This is a hostel. A place for kids. The quality of service and behavior of fellow travelers make that clear. There’s no good reason to stay here over the other options in the area.

Excellent value for money in a small, cozy well located hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights during early Christmas. Only downside of hotel can be noise: our room was situated on street side across the pub and the walls are quite thin so you will here your fellow guests from time to time. Other then that: very engaging staff, clean rooms (we had a standard private) albeit somewhat small and lacking a safe. Shower was clean and one of the better we had. Food downstairs was very good! Trofie pasta was nice as were the breakfast options (small but nice). They serve some nice teas and proper espresso. This is a definite recommendation for smaller budget looking for a informal young crowd. There are shared beddings as well (hostel). Hotel is very convenient located next to Chalk Farm (50 meters).

Horrible Checkin experience, rooms a total cat fish, in horrible condition. Staff below standard. The first staff member who we encountered was beyond rude. We walked in and she acted like we were the biggest intruder and inconvenience to her life. We asked if we can check in early, she said no, it’s 3pm. We asked if we can store our luggage then she unwillingly proceeded to go to a room and asked me to just drop it myself with no tags. This “luggage room” (really just a supply room) was number locked (I saw the # as she punched, won’t disclose here but it’s easy) we found it to be extremely unsafe so we opt to not store and just waited in the “co-work” area. After a few mins we were quick to discover that 8 out of the 10 people in this area were actually just employees at Selena and they kicked actual hotel guests out of this area so they can do “meetings”…the rude lady at the beginning then came to her “boss” next to us, acting all nice, so we knew she has it in her to be nice, just not to guests. We finally checked in with the one employee who was nice, got put to our room and wow, it looks horrible. The room had no lamp shade, 1 hanger, shower that barely worked and wall paint that are so beat up that it should have been taken cared of months ago. The room also smelled horrible. When we are in the hallway, empty glasses everywhere, hallway with left over house keeping dirty sheets not picked up. Honestly, the management of this place is a joke. It feels more like a bunch of tech start up folks trying to run a hotel. Seeing how many employees who just sit there on their computer vs the lack of actual service staff, they are really doing the hotel a disservice. Just do the basics of running a hotel and they will get further than trying to run it to the ground.

The booking process for Selina Camden was not smooth! The online booking site looks a little dodgy, my UK credit card was not accepted, and I had to book using the messaging service as no one answers the international number given. Once I had my booking confirmed it was lucky that I kept a screen grab of it because I didn’t receive confirmation! As we were about to take off for London I found an email from Selina informing me that my card could not be used so I needed to provide another one in order to keep the booking. All this made me very nervous about arriving to find no room available - as I was travelling with my 13 years daughter and we were due today get to the hotel at midnight, I was very concerned. HOWEVER, as soon as we arrived, everything went very smoothly. The staff were welcoming, the room clean, basic & tastefully decorated (we got the standard double room with private bathroom) with plenty of charging points and very nice shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Great shower too. We had an outer facing room but there was no noise even on Friday night. The restaurant is lovely - the coffee a real pleasure and if you like vegan food you are in for a treat! I had a mimosa for my complimentary welcome drink and it was perfect. The location is great - opposite Chalk Farm Tube and 5 mins walk from what is left of Camden market (no longer authentic but it has a nice vibe.) We got back from a concert at past midnight on our second night and when we walked in,the concierge asked us how we were and even said ‘welcome home.’ It was a nice touch. For us, everything was absolutely perfect, so thank you Selina Camden - just one ask, please improve the booking system - it doesn’t do you justice!

4 of us had a brilliant stay here during our sightseeing trip. Everything about it was perfect... The staff, the location, the double rooms, the decor, the cleanliness. The kitchen area was really handy when we wanted to prepare a quick snack before getting changed and heading back out.

All of my needs were met while I was staying here. The wonderful crew at the bar. Ben and Jordyn helped me out with my every need if anything came up. If I find myself coming back to London in the future " which I'm going to" I will try to stay here again.

Perfect location to travel London. The Camden Market is just a few steps away. The rooms were nice and clean. A bit pricy for a Hostel.

Overpriced hostel. Rude staff. The guy working night shift is creepy and scary and would not talk. He was like Frankenstein. The bottom line is a hostel is a hostel and what you want is affordability for a few hours of sleep at least.

Exceptional. When checking in, I met the general manager Allen that welcomed me with a smile and a drink and kicked off my stay which was much more than a cosy room and a great bed in a central location. Selina Camden is just a great stay in London and I most definitely come again in future visits.

Sadly we didn't know this was a hotel, too as we only discovered it on a hunt for food. The food was great and the service nice. Loved the over all atmosphere and vibe. Will definitely stay a night the next time i visit!

Beautiful hostel! I stayed in a Community Room, a bunk in an 8-bed room. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home! Super clean and decorated beautifully. The bathrooms are huge and the showers have great water pressure. There’s even more showers in the hallway in case the one in your room is being used. There’s blackout curtains on each bunk so you can sleep in and have privacy. 3 Point plus and USB chargers in each bunk with a little shelf. My only criticism is that they advertise that there are individual lockers for each bed but there weren’t any lockers that I could see. I had brought my iPad with me and I had to leave it behind hidden between the bedsheet and the mattress and spent my whole night worrying that it might not be there when I got back! (It was) but I thought there were going to be lockers in the room like most hostels. Everyone had put their bags on their beds covered in towels and duvets to try and hide them.

Selena is a charming, young and lively hotel. The hotel is very comfortable both in location and in the way it is organized. The rooms are very clean, warm, and ventilated. The hotel had courteous and welcoming service, had great fun

Very nice place, and nice staff. Beds and bathrooms are very clean. Decor is pretty cool. Very good location, a couple of minutes walk to Camden center. Stupid bright green light shining down at the bed the whole night. Boooo. Also fire alarm went off at midnight :(

Clean and beautifully designed hostel in a convenient location! I stayed in a shared room—the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were incredibly clean. The tube station is right across the street which is a huge plus. I am planning to stay here again!
