Recently had a superb fly fishing lesson with Marc. I am a complete beginner and found Marc an excellent and highly knowledigable teacher, with just the right balance of patience and encouragement. I cannot recommend Marc more highly and it is down to him that I think I have bitten the fly fishing bug. I have already been thumbing through fly fishing catalogues with a glint in my eye!

I booked a 4 hour lesson as a present for my daughter's 29th birthday and we had a brilliant day. Marc is a great teacher and excellent company.From our very first contact, all communication was clear, timely and reassuring with some helpful video homework. We'll definitely be back. Met Marc for my first proper fly fishing lesson. A very enjoyable and informative three hours. Marc is very knowledgeable and patient! A full three hour session. The location (Albury) was great with a nice tea room for an breakfast roll and coffee. I would happily book with Marc again for a refresher.

We had an excellent experience with Marc and his colleague on the River Avon. A bit different than what we typically experience in the American West and Western North Carolina, so his guidance was greatly appreciated. Our first time fishing on a chalk stream was a highlight for our family.

I had a great lesson with Marc, covering effective fly casting and other techniques. He’s a very knowledgable and friendly teacher, and understands how best to move you forward with your learning as a beginner.

As a beginner my lesson with Marc was an excellent way to ensure my fly fishing gets off to the best start. Marc is an excellent tutor, the pace being matched to ability and important tips and info imparted throughout the session. The best bit of all was catching my first trout. I went with an open mind and the aim of learning the basics, I didn't go expecting to catch a fish, but it was a great finish to the lesson coming right at the end. To anyone thinking three hours is not long, I would say that it is just right, as by the end of all that learning, you do start to feel tired. In summary, I really enjoyed the session and learned so much, at an enjoyable pace. Plus the trout tasted great!

Took my 12yr old son to Syon Park this morning for a half-day of fly fishing tuition. Marc was already waiting in the car park ready for us. It was a really informative 3 hour session, we both enjoyed being outdoors too in the natural environment, not even the heathrow air traffic could spoil it. Marc is an expert and patient teacher who explains the various casting techniques in a very easy and understandable manner. I highly recommend!

A great 4 hour session with Marc. His knowledge is second to none and within short time, he had me casting to an acceptable standard and with a degree of accuracy I wasn't expecting. Frensham Trout Fishery is a great place for a beginner to learn and Marc is an inspirational coach with infinite patience and with his guidance, I'm looking forward to buying my first rod. I will definitely be going back for more.

I had an excellent 4 hour intro session with Marc today in Farnham (Easy train from London Waterloo). At the end of the lesson, I felt very comfortable with the roll cast and managed to catch a healthy tiger trout as a bonus. Marc is a knowledgeable and patient instructor. Marc was an excellent guide today fishing for carp. I had very limited knowledge of fly fishing prior to meeting up with Marc. I have come away feeling confident being able to cast, good enough to give it a crack at a lake! Marc taught me some very effective techniques that will allow me to make more difficult casts or casts in trickier areas. Marc was very kind, and very patient with someone who had little-to-no idea of the basics of fly fishing. Marc is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all my ‘fly-related’ questions! Marc is an incredibly attentive and humorous teacher that managed to take us from absolutely beginners to much more confident casters. We even managed to catch a couple of fish :D I would highly recommend Marc for anyone looking to get into fly fishing or to improve fishing skills that they already have.

Really enjoyed my 4 hour lesson with Marc recently. I found Marc’s communication to be excellent suppling good instructions on what to bring and how to find the well chosen and beautiful location, a perfect spot for the novice angler. Marc is friendly, patient and has well a paced presentation, starting with an introduction to handling the kit before moving on to casting and of course, the art of fishing. I was introduced to three casting techniques and general line handling. The lesson was broken up with some theory and a discussion, over coffee, about flies, a subject Marc has some passion for. After the lesson Marc sent useful links and a Google doc containing the information to continue the fly fishing journey including kit recommendations. Marc is clearly passionate about fly fishing and has an extensive knowledge on the subject that is enthusiastic to share. I would happily recommend Marc to anyone interested in this fascinating sport.

I arrange a fishing lesson for myself and my daughter, Lilian, with Marc at Albury. Marc was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He kept all his instruction very practical - Lilian had never cast a rod before and within two and a half hours she was casting the line out about 20 yards and caught two 2 lb rainbow trout - fantastic. I would really recommend Marc we had a great day. Albury was a beautiful location.

My son and I booked a 2 day course with a nights stay in a local hotel with breakfast, evening meal and a packed lunch as part of the package . The hotel was excellent with a really good restaurant serving hearty country food . A well stocked bar was very welcome . The first day was a half day session where Marc introduced us to the equipment we would be using and the basics of fly fishing. We were soon on the bank making our first casts . He was a very patient teacher with a genuine enthusiasm for the sport . Day 2 was spent putting into practice the techniques we had learnt and trying different fishing set ups including dry flies , wet flies , strike indicators and sinking leaders . We had a great time and we both managed to land fish !! I would highly recommend this course .

Marc is an excellent coach - I had a 3 hour lesson with him at Weston in Surrey and within the first hour I was roll and overhead casting and getting further casts than I had achieved before. His explanation of fly fishing techniques and knowledge of the fish, their habitat and their food chain was in depth yet easy to understand. I highly recommend Marc to a fly fisher of any level.

My first ever fly fishing experience - Thoroughly enjoyed despite the freezing weather. Marc is a great coach and educates on all aspects from set-up, safety through to casting, hooking and landing fish. The day was topped off by a stunning rainbow trout. Top day all round!
