I almost don't want to tell you how amazing Crown Works is because I selfishly want to keep this place to myself. I am IN LOVE with this place. Everyone here is so lovely and welcoming. I've take 3 classes here: one weekend course, one 5 week course and one "intermediate" plates course. I'm officially hooked on throwing due to my classes here. Lucy is an amazing warm teacher with patience and heart, who works with you to create pieces. I've progressed immensely from my first throwing course in July of this year, thanks to these courses. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Had an amazing time on the 5 day throwing class by Iona, who was incredibly patient with us and gave advice throughout. Such a tranquil experience overall and a much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of work life. Really pleased with how the pieces turned out and will be back to improve on the craft!

Played with clay all weekend on the intermediate level plate making course at Crown Works Pottery. I’m a hobby potter and achieved much more than I could ever have expected. Lucy’s teaching is fabulous and professional. She is energetic, encouraging and funny, and has time for everyone. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The materials we were given to work with were of superb quality and in generous quantities. I’m really looking forward to being reunited with my pots after firing. A really fascinating and fun weekend. Highly recommended.

I attended the Tea Bowl course with the incredibly talented Joseph Ludkin that ran over a weekend at the beginning of May and I am absolutely delighted that I did! Crown Works Studio is light, welcoming and very well equipped for beginners and experts alike; a beautiful place to spend a weekend playing with clay. Joe is an amazingly kind and patient teacher; spending just the right amount of time devoting attention to each person in the class, encouraging everyones ideas and abilities as well as explaining things thoroughly, so that even the most inexperienced amongst us were able to walk away with something to be proud of. The perfect way to spend a weekend, I can’t recommend this class (and studio) highly enough; it’s the perfect way to increase your skills and confidence, meet other beautiful potters (and make some life long friends) as well as learning techniques that will serve you for the rest of your life and an experience to treasure… What’s not to love!!!

A really wonderful day at the pottery class. As a total beginner I found it surprisingly physical and at the same time meditative. The materials are generously available so you are free to explore and make mistakes, the space is lovely, and there is gentle guidance on hand when you need it. And the bonus - usable pots!

Amazing class! Lovely welcoming, and very nice place. Lucy has described the whole process in very simple words and followed all students in the creation. I am very satisfied with the final pieces and with the experience!

Received a voucher for my birthday and really enjoyed the 2hr beginner class! The instructor was great, it was my first time on the wheel and I’ll definitely be booking another course. Took my boyfriend along and he loved it too.

My girlfriend and I came along for the two-hour taster session a couple of weeks ago. Our instructor El was amazing! Very helpful and understanding, a perfect introduction to throwing for all abilities. We’ve just had the pick-up email and are super excited to see the final product. If you’re having any doubts about booking, don’t, just go for it!!

I did the beginner weekend few months ago and recently joined the intermediate course to make plates. I was scared of not being good enough but Lucia is an amazing teacher and she will spot any of your moves to help you understand the process better. I was really satisfied of my new skills at the end of the week. I highly recommend this and don't be afraid to join more advanced courses.

Just completed a throwing course and it was wonderful. My teacher Clare was exceptional as a potter and teacher, I learned a lot and have signed up for another course. The only downside was that out of the 6 pots I made, two were cracked and one was lost "probably broken in the kiln". Overall I would recommend this course and lovely studio.

We did a 1 day throwing course for my wife's birthday a few weeks ago. Neither of us had done pottery throwing before but both came away with a few bowls and pots by the end of the day. The instructor was super nice and helpful. It was amazing to watch how quickly he could make something but he also had the patience to work with each student to get them started or tips on how to improve their throws. The studio is well laid out and felt bright and spacious. There were 7 of us on the course the day we went but they can have up to 10. All the clay and tools are provided and you can get some of your pots fired and collect them a couple of weeks later. We could keep 3 pots but I think how many you can get depends on the course. Overall, it was a great day out and a fun skill to learn. My wife is already booked on another course with her friend later in the year. I would recommend giving it a go, you'll be surprised what you can learn and make in a day.

Fantastic studio for people who love pottery from beginners to professionals! I have started taking classes a few weeks ago and thanks to Lucia (my teacher) I improved so much and was able to make some great progress!!! Don’t hesitate to book a class with them you won’t regret it!!! Also: Great idea for couples to do it together ❤️

Hidden Gem! Amazing studio in a quiet and beautiful mews in east London. We joined a one day testing course to try the throwing and the handbuilding techniques. The 2.5h in the morning and 2.5h in the afternoon looked like too much for a Saturday, but we completely lost track of time and could have easily stayed longer. Great experience, fully recommended.

A beautiful studio hidden in East London! I undertook a one day taster course where I got to do a hand building and throwing workshop where we made a teacup and pots! The teachers were excellent, the studio was beautiful and the overall experience was amazing. Great workshop if you want to get into pottery and would also make an excellent gift for a friend! I hope to be back soon :)

I had an amazing experience at Crownworks Pottery Studio! This place is absolutely beautiful with greenery all around, giving it a refreshing and calming atmosphere. The vibe and ambiance are incredible, making you feel right at home. The teachers here are excellent and super friendly, making pottery feel like a walk in the park even if you're a beginner. What I loved most is the flexibility they offer with different class options and various times throughout the week. It's so easy to find a class that fits your schedule. Crownworks is a gem for pottery enthusiasts, and I can't recommend it enough.

😠 I would not recommend this university at all. Nearly everything is horrible. It is impossible to receive emails, feedback or questions you may have. Poor administration. They do not provide help at all. You feel alone and helpless if you have any problem. Few good tutors. Only positive was a couple...

😐 Sadly have to leave a bad review because: I drink non-dairy milk because it has way lower carbon emissions than dairy milk and was frustrated to find you charge extra 60p for this. I can't drink caffeine and was surprised to see an extra 20p charged for decaf. So my decaf oat latte was £4.30 which...
