Finally made it to this place.. What a shop!! Lovely presentation. Everything is well labelled and you can choose what you want. Staff are still at hand to give advice and help. Very friendly and great service. Ethical and natural.. Its just what we need right now! The chocolates are just lovely and you can gift these to anyone! Best thing is.. If you don't want the hot chocolate there and then... You can buy all gear and make it at home!...

Definitely in the top 3 best hot chocolates in London. They have a wide range of chocolate products which are super tasty, however they are most well known for their hot chocolate. It is hot chocolate with a really good tasty, thin, not extremely thick and it has the sparkles of chocolate at the end that melt into the cup adding more taste.

A bit of a legendary place in Brick Lane I had seen from a distance for years and heard about from Food Insider but never tried. The signature hot chocolate is all well and good for the first 2/3, then you hit a delicious final few mouthfuls of pure melted chocolate. 5/5

We travelled over to Dark Sugars earlier this afternoon after seeing posts on social media. A small, but cozy and personal experience for chocolate lovers. Very impressed with the choice, the service and taste of both the hot chocolate and small bites. Would definitely re-visit if and when we are back in the area.

There was a queue to get into the little shop. We've been looking for a thick dark hot chocolate for a while and figured this might be the right place. Their pitch black hot chocolate didn't disappoint! It was like thick chocolate soup, not too sweet, and due to high cocoa content on the bitter side but just the right amount. Only take the pitch black if you like very dark chocolate. 🍫

If you are fan of chocolate you must try here for different flavours of chocolates. You will find many varieties of chocolates in so many flavours and you must try hot chocolate. You will be in love with hot chocolate and different flavours of chocolate truffles. Must visit place in London.

Dark Sugars was posted on social media as one of the best places to get hot chocolate in the UK so based on that we decided to check it out. The place is relatively small but the staff tries to go through the customers efficiently and effectively. There are many options and I got the basic hot chocolate with dairy-free milk. the hot chocolate was a good portion size but the taste was underwhelming. i had high expectations given the rush and the ratings it had received but it was an average hot chocolate. if you are in the area stop by but i would not go out of my way

THE CHOCOLATE There's a large variety of chocolates and flavors of beverages. I picked my own bag of treats and ordered a hazelnut praline hot chocolate topped with chocolate shavings. ATMOSPHERE There's no seating area but the inside is beautiful. The chocolates are neatly displayed and labeled, smooth music playing and art on the walls along with seasonal decor. I'd love to try more flavors whenever I'm back in the UK.

This was love at first sight! The amazing interior with its wood displays, everything was breathtaking. I can't describe what I saw & ate today!! It was very rich & just wawo. They serve top-notch chocolates & their smell all around, which takes you to another world. The taste of their chocolate, however, is average. It is way overrated & overpriced..

Looking for the smoothest, tastiest, comforting hot chocolate in town ? Well Dark Sugars is THE place you need to go to. They have a selection of hot chocolate, chocolate truffles, fudge, etc. We tried the salted caramel hot chocolate ans it was the best thing ever ! They added some big white and black chocolate shavings on top which melted beautifully in the drink. The taste of the salted caramel was not really present but balabced well with the chocolate making neither too sweet nor to rich. There's no seating area but you can walk around the neighborhood while sipping this amazing drink.

Such a wonderful chocolate heaven. It was amazing breathing in the chocolate smell all around and was pretty hard to choose as we wanted to try every kind. Everything we did eventually picked was beautiful and yummy.

Small shop, no sitting places. TA only. Had two benches outside but one of them was broken. Fine chocolate, but saw at least of the same quality in the center of london. No need to come especially. Only if you are around like on the Sunday markets that are around

Saw this place pop up on my Instagram and had to try it. Omg it did not disappoint! They had so many different kinds of chocolates and truffles, tons of flavors to choose from, all piled high throughout the store. A chocolate lovers dream! We sampled a couple and loved them so of course we had to buy a few more, they were all very tasty. Then we got what we actually went there for, the hot chocolate 🤤 it was so rich, creamy, and smooth. You got to choose which types of chocolate shavings you wanted on top. The shavings melted into the hot chocolate as you drank it, making it even more chocolatey goodness.

During our leisurely New Year walk that stretched over two hours with the kids, we serendipitously stumbled upon this enchanting chocolate haven. The magnetic pull of this shop took hold of us, especially after the kids had already savoured some ice cream from the neighbouring ice cream shop. It turned out to be an extraordinary find, and I found myself questioning how I hadn't ventured in before. Typically, my walks lead me through the park, and I rarely find myself in the vicinity of the shops. However, with the park closed, we decided to take an extensive loop and fortuitously landed here. The experience was nothing short of amazing – from the captivating art embellishing the walls to the rich storytelling ambience, there was an undeniable authenticity that resonated throughout the establishment. And, of course, the chocolate – an absolute delight. The delectable treats managed to captivate not only my taste buds but also my conscience, as I indulged without the slightest hint of guilt. For anyone in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this extraordinary place; it's an immersive journey blending art, history, and, above all, the irresistible allure of chocolate.

Hot chocolate costs £5.50 so is on the pricey side. The hazelnut hot chocolate had a good flavour but became overly sweet when all the chocolate shavings had melted into it. Worth a try but definitely wouldn’t go back. Service was very friendly and efficient.

Had an absolutely delicious hot chocolate, and the lady serving me was very friendly. Small shop gets crowded and there’s no seating inside, but the chili hot chocolate is the perfect decadent pick me up on a cold day. Next time I’ll ask for a bit more spice but it was a delicious drink - very sweet, thick and everything a hot chocolate should be. Only wish the drinks included the chocolate shavings rather than a paid extra as otherwise it’s pricey for a hot chocolate. Would recommend as a treat if you’re in the area. I also really liked they had a free sample of one of their chocolates - often I am too intimidated by fancier chocolate shops and never end up buying anything for fear of buying a chocolate I don’t like at a high price. The pistachio truffle sample I had was so amazing that now I know I’ll take my mum there to buy her some as she loves pistachio. Thanks Dark Sugars!

I had been told really great things about this place, and it did not disappoint. The hot chocolate was quite expensive being £6 although it was so rich and decadent, I loved how friendly the staff were, and they let you pick which flavour chocolate shavings you wanted in your drink. There was also a lot of different hot chocolate flavours to pick from.

Absolutely amazing chocolate, at very affordable prices. You’ll definitely pay less here than at the local chocolate chains and get a better quality chocolate, too. I haven’t been to shoreditch much but I may start making a point to go there just to get more of this chocolate.

If you are familiar with the London area then you must know that Brick Lane is a happening place so finding a treat shop like Dark sugars is no coincidence Extremely sweet hot chocolate with a variety of chocolates and flavours to choose from. I guess the price is not the point it's about experiencing/trying new things. A very thick and filling drink worth a try

Got the signature hazelnut and praline hot chocolate... Literally the best hot chocolate I have ever had, very rich and decadent! Perfect on a cold February night! 😊 The staff were so lovely and I wish I had bought some chocolates too as they looked divine!

Hot chocolate is indeed a really chocolatety drink, and it's great to see the availability of dairy free alternatives. The chocolate shavings melted quite quickly as shared by others, a pity but delicious nonetheless. I would in fact suggest getting the chocolates instead of the drink, as the chocolates are one of the best I've tested so far. Definitely going back to get more (and get some pics this time)!

Got the salted caramel hot chocolate and thought it was alright. The molten chocolate at the bottom is the best! But I prefer the chin chin labs hot choc with marshmallow...

Hidden gems. Wonderful little shop of all kinds of truffles and chocolate delicacies especially if you’re like me you prefer dark chocolate. Didn’t try the hot chocolate but I know it’s very popular. Took 1 star down because of price. Staff wasn’t the nicest as well.

Dark Sugars in Brick Lane is a chocolate lover's paradise! Their shop looks incredibly tempting. The classic hot chocolate with chocolate shavings was rich, but a tad too sweet for my liking. My bad for not asking beforehand. Still, it's definitely worth a visit. The friendly lady serving added to the enjoyable experience. 😊🍫

Super rich and delicious chocolate. Me and my party got a deliciously decadent hot chocolate which comes with amazing chocolate shavings and we also got some tasty truffles for the road. Wide selection and all delicious!

I have to say this is the best place for hot chocolates and ice cream, got a hazelnut hot chocolate with some chocolate flakes, which tasted absolutely amazing, by far the best I’ve ever had and the hazelnut flavour is just perfect, I also got 3 scoops of ice cream which also tasted really delicious, the aesthetic of the place is very fitting with the fact they serve chocolate gives it a unique feeling to it, sort of like Charlie and the chocolate factory feeling, the customer service is also fairly good, I would definitely go again and most certainly recommend for anyone to go and try this place out, 100% worth it, overall paid roughly £11~

Sooooo good been going here for years! Quality chocolates, first time trying the hot chocolate it was actually phenomenal and with oat milk too. If you are visiting East London treat yourself and come here.

Really nice, but a small shop with delicious chocolate on display everywhere. When you enter the smell of the chocolate is really attractive, and it helps that they have display samples for you to try. The highlight is trying one of the hot chocolates with chocolate shavings. There are some theatrics with the shavings dumped in from the top which look cool but this melts pretty quickly and gets mixed in the drink. My only issue is that the drink got sickly sweet too fast. The taste was good, but I expected it to be a bit more decadent which it wasn't. Overall it was a good experience but maybe I'll try without the shavings next time.

The line moves rather quickly — so don’t be intimidated by it. We tried the classic and cinnamon hot chocolate and got the chocolate shavings on top. It was delicious and so comforting on a cold and gloomy London day. Definitely a proper hot chocolate that we’ll come back for

Located in Shoreditch on Brick lane so it is a bit out from Central London. They serve a signature hot chocolate with optional chocolate shards (some with flavours: nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamon, hazelnut and a few others). It's not cheap for a SA traveller but definitely worth it!! They sell hot chocolate powder and lots of flavoured chocolate truffles. Some have alcohol but this is marked. Definitely worth the trip there!

Great place in the heart of Brick Lane to crave your sweet tooth! Albeit on the small side, this shop has a multitude of different chocolates and nuts for you to try as well as rich hot chocolate with additional chocolate shavings. My go to flavours are the hazelnut and salted caramel. The customer service is great and the team are very entertaining. I will always recommend this place to others and is a cult favourite for a reason!
