Prior to coming to turner swim I had no swimming experience and had not been in a pool and any body of water for over ten years. Instructors David and Josh helped build up my confidence and now I have no fear of water and can comfortably go to the pool / beach without issue. Both are extremely helpful instructors which constantly provide tips whilst swimming lengths of the pool on ways to improve your form and breathing. They also explain as why actions should be performed in an easy to understand manner and never make you feel inadequate. Thanks to the both of you for teaching me a such a useful life skill

David is an absolute gem. I no longer face the apprehension, caution and lack of confidence of being in – and beneath – water due to the empathetic approach and methodical simplicity he teaches with. He makes learning to swim properly as an adult incredibly easy; breaking down each stroke into its individual parts until they are gradually and eventually linked together to build the necessary muscle memory, and more importantly, helping to developing a confident mindset for mastering. His attentiveness to each each stroke through every length of every lesson makes grasping them simple. He has made swimming an activity I no longer fear but take great fun in with big credit paid to his fun manner. It's a joy learning in his company – so much so I've returned to learn further strokes. I learnt how to swim as a child but lost confidence through my teens. I was nervous about getting back into the water but due to an upcoming beach holiday, I signed up for a 10-hour package to regain this life skill. Josh was extremely helpful. He taught at a comfortable pace and was patient, finding the best way to tailor lessons to match my progress. Now I definitely feel far more confident when I’m in the water. Most importantly, I can once again competently swim on my own. Would highly recommend if anyone is looking for adult swimming lessons in central London.

I had always wanted to learn to swim, I decided to finally do so with a holiday coming up. As a 35 year old Male, I naturally had some nerves as a complete beginner. I had a 1 month window to try and become a competent swimmer. My Instructor was Josh, Josh was very professional, patient, motivating and clearly very experienced, he would always ask how I felt when adding in a new element to the stoke/technique and had the expertise to recommend adjustments if I was struggling with a particular part of the stroke. I could not have asked for anything else from an Instructor, he was faultless. The whole experience was great, I had no idea the process would be so easy-going, at no point did I feel I was unable to partake in any of the techniques as they were introduced, the lessons are spaced out in such a way that it makes you comfortable with each part of the swimming process gradually. I would highly recommend Turner Swim and Josh to anyone contemplating taking up Lessons. The entire process is very well thought out and actually very enjoyable. Thank You!

David -Turner Swimming Review My journey with Turner Swimming began during the summer holiday period of 2021. I started lessons with my instructor David, who by all means is a total legend! I went into swimming with little to no experience; and after having a short chat with David on my first day, at The Dilly Hotel (Le Méridien Piccadilly), explaining to him that I wished to become a confident swimmer in the indoor setting and wanted to in-time progress to open water swimming. David carefully gauged that it would be best for me to start with Turner Swimming’s flagship learn to swim course - which was composed of 10 hourly sessions, with specific learning objectives for each session. During this period David’s coaching did wonders! I was becoming more and more self-confident, in my rapidly improving ability to swim front crawl and backstroke. David is a straight to the point sort of guy! He continuously talks to me, suggesting ways I could improve my technique. He is a great moving commentator - offering great encouragement as I swim each length! Most importantly, David is a very friendly person, and I think, for someone who I had fairly recently met, he knew precisely how much to push me further, to swim more and more lengths! Without being too much of annoyance! David is unquestionably a natural teacher! Indeed, David has made swimming an enjoyable experience! Something which I always look forward to! Therefore, without any hesitation, I can say that David is a thorough gentleman and an excellent coach. Honestly, I think when it comes to Turner Swimming, David is a bit of Celebrity! Dilshan

I’d been contemplating swimming lessons for years and felt so nervous going into it but I’m so glad I took the plunge (pun intended). Lisa made me feel instantly at ease with her friendly manner and in less than 10 weeks I was already able to swim multiple lengths, something I never thought I’d be able to do. In my opinion I think this is an ideal place to learn to swim as an adult, being in hotels the swimming pools are already a really nice environment to be in and I would go in the evenings or weekends and the pools were always really quiet. The learn to swim programme is great too, the approach is simple all the steps are really methodical, not at all overwhelming and Lisa always took the time to explain why I had to do certain things i.e. to make the swim more efficient, not breathe in water etc. And honestly, it was so much fun! Couldn’t recommend Lisa and Turner Swim more.

I highly recommend Turner Swim. I have gone from only being able to do 17m to now 300m in crawl comfortably. Joshua has provided a space where I feel comfortable and supported whilst trying to continuously improve my technique. I also feel he has given clear direction when I need to make subtle adjustments to either breathing position or alignment. This has resulted in me enjoying my swims more as I’m swimming more efficiently and feel less tired as a result. I am now on the stroke improver course with Joshua and look forward to seeing the results.

When I first started taking lessons with Josh @ Turner Swim, I didn't know how to swim at all. I can now go swimming confidently on my own and swim front crawl, back stroke and breast stroke! Josh is a great teacher and made me feel comfortable in the water. I would highly recommend!

Learning to swim as an adult can always feel a little embarrassing, however i took the plunge and signed up for lessons with Turner Swim. My instructor was David who operates from the Dilly Hotel in Central London, just near Piccadilly Circus. David is an excellent instructor and makes you feel comfortable from the very beginning. He is very passionate about his role, he's non-judgmental, extremely patient and his goal was to have me swimming correctly in the shortest time possible. My ability before i started the first lesson was to swim about a length of the pool before passing out with exhaustion!!! Within three lessons, I could confidently tread water with two different techniques, i could happily jump in the deep end and come up straight into a treading water position. My front crawl, breathing and confidence all improved immensely and i could even do back stroke for the first time. If you're thinking of learning to swim yourself or you want to improve your technique then i would strongly recommend you sign up with Turner Swim. Thanks guys and keep up the good work I'll be back again once i return to the UK!

I joined turner swim after years of debating whether I should even consider learning in my late twenties. At 30 I decided to take the plunge!! All I have to say is my experience at turner swim has been nothing but exceptional. And that is primarily all down to my swim instructor Josh! Josh really got to know me and observe how I learn - he then taught me accordingly. He is very patient but also loves to see his pupils make progress so pushes them to reach their full potential. From being scared of both getting in the water to even attempt to learn how to swim and then actually learning how to swim is a huge achievement and I cannot thank Josh enough. So Josh thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so excited to have my first swim on holiday soon. Still can’t actually believe it!

I am forever grateful to Stefano from Turner Swim for teaching me how to swim front crawl and back crawl from having had waterphobia as a starting point. As a former water polo player, Stefano has not only extensive swimming expertise, but immeasurable patience and perseverance and the ability to encourage students and put them at ease. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and because of this, Stefano, sarò sempre grata a te!

I have just completed swimming lessons with Lisa at the Leonardo London City and I would recommend her to any level of learner. I came away from every lesson with a new breakthrough as a result of her expertise, observations and encouragement. She makes the whole experience a lot of fun.

I would not recommend them to anyone. I’ve lost count of how many sessions I’ve had - probably over 20 and still cannot do a basic front crawl. The sessions are too repetitive and are not tailored to your individual progress. They are also designed to force you too keep buying sessions. Also, the price increases every month, which is very disingenuous. EDIT: Not confused and still regret spending any money with them.

I've been taking lessons at Turner Swim for two months now and I've noticed a huge improvement in my breathing, technique and rhythm. David and Toby are both very knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Their explanations are clear and they're both very good at spotting small tweaks I need to make in my technique. As a result, I'm not only able to swim farther but also move more smoothly and confidently through the water. I'd definitely recommend either instructor and Turner Swim! It has been a very enjoyable experience.

I’m really happy with the experience I’ve had at Turner Swim. Initially Stefano and Alejandro has been really amazing, and now from zero, I can swim front crawl and go backwards. Overall, I would highly recommend these guys :)

Huge thanks to Josh for getting me through the head-up breast stroke to front crawl course! I’ve always found front crawl really difficult and felt like I was struggling and flailing around in the water, totally exhausted after one length. After five lessons I understand how fluid and efficient it can feel when you’re doing it properly, and it’s extremely satisfying! Josh has plenty of patience, enthusiasm and knows what he’s talking about, and I’ve really enjoyed my lessons. Excited to practise what I’ve learned and I expect to go back for more lessons in the future.

I booked a few lessons with Alejandro to overcome my water phobia and I exceeded my own expectations by becoming a swimmer and actually learning different swimming techniques. The swimming instructor was very professional, calm and patient with me which I needed to overcome my anxiety. He made sure to provide constructive feedback and a step by step solution to address any issues I had at the time with my swimming. If you have some sort of water phobia or looking to improve your technique, I definitely recommend taking the 1 to 1 lessons with Alejandro.
