I have always found Rawlings staff very helpful and very professional. The technology they use is state of the art this is very reassuring when being examined. Recently when I needed advice on an eye condition I was given an appointment at short notice. The problem was quickly diagnosed and treatment recommended.

Best opticians in the UK by far. Very precise prescriptions, they genuinely care about getting you the right glasses and contacts. I’ve gone in when I think my sight from certain angles is a little fuzzy and they’ve managed to make the most tiny adjustments for me to see perfectly. They are also just super lovely people. Simon is a brilliant Ophthalmologist who the whole family have been going to for years. The receptionist at Hedge End is also very friendly and kind. Very thorough and trustworthy.

Visited Rawlings recently after booking in to try an independent opticians rather than my usual. Booking: Booked in online and found the system self explanatory and really easy to use. I was also appreciative of the emails alerts reminding me of my appointment. Visit: Rawlings was easy to locate with parking close by. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The optician was informative providing information/reasoning about the examinations/tests being performed. Even though the price for the examination is more than I would normally pay, it definitely felt like I was getting my moneys worth. Area for Improvement: The practice felt a little tired in terms of decor i.e. Chairs/Carpet. One of the chairs I went to sit in felt a little unstable. I would definitely recommend Rawlings as it will now become my preferred opticians.

I was examined by Kate Malam, who listened, understood, was courteous and thorough. After my exam She asked if I wanted to look at the range of glasses on offer rather than expect me to want to. Rawlings provide a very professional, polite and personal service. It is east to book appointments, they offer a very comprehensive care plan and communicate well. Certainly the best local optician if you require a private expert consultation to give full understanding and confidence.

A totally brilliant practice - have used Rawlings services for a number of years and actually live out of the area, but still choose to attend all of my appointment with the Hedge End branch. All of the staff are fantastic and Simon the Optician is simply the best - very caring and professional.

I have had two check up appointments after having cataract surgery. Each time I have received excellent treatment both from the reception and opticians. All the procedures were explained and my questions were answered clearly and reassuringly.

I woke with a swollen eye and couldn’t get an appointment with my regular opticians or their other branches. Rawlings in Stockbridge helped me get an appointment at their Hedge End branch. Michael carried out a very professional triage of my case and Simon was very thorough and referred me to Southampton eye casualty. I was very thankful and Simon continued to follow up progress. I thoroughly recommend Rawlings. Thank you, I’ll be joining Stockbridge soon.

I have seen the same optician here for over 25 years! No quick turn over of staff as you find in the big chains. Always professional and friendly. Just recently visited due to an eye emergency and again treated at the local opticians, rather than a costly and scary trip to the eye hospital. Thank you to Rawlings for their excellent service

I’ve been going to Rawlings for almost 20 years. My family started going there when my brother had to have an eye test and was referred to the eye hospital. The eye doctor said that the test carried out at Rawlings was incredibly accurate and one of the best he’d seen. I’ve actually moved away now so don’t have a local branch but will travel to go back for appointments because I know that the test will be done properly. They really care about the details. My eye sight with my glasses on is very sharp, probably better than most who don’t need glasses. I usually see Simon at the Hedge End branch. He’s very thorough and makes sure you get the exact prescription. Cannot recommend enough. I’ve accompanied friends to appointments at Specsavers and other large chains and the testing just isn’t as thorough. CLL 18/6/22

Following an bi-annual eye test, my prescription had changed slightly, optometrist Simon Cabell did and excellent job as always, followed by a fitting for a new pair of specs. Again excellent service from knowledgeable assistants with modern up-to-date equipment and knowledge. A week later and a few £'s lighter I am delighted to say things are much clearer for reading and computer work.
