Best art shop ever. Equipment and materials are the highest quality but the shop also has antiques, unusual gifts, children's things and friendly staff. What more could anyone need!

This local art store seems to have it all. I come here for paints and they have a full range be it simple water paints to more expensive oil paints they have it. I come for the liquid metal paints I use to touch up a few gold frames I own and they work a treat. The staff are very helpful, informative and friendly. They also have all the brushes, accessories and frames if need be. I got a few last minute cards as well. They have little art projects for younger artists. They have inks, clothing paints and other options for your artistic needs. I highly recommend here for art supplies. Please press like if you found my review helpful. Thank you

A really lovely art supplies shop on two levels, about 10-15 minutes away from South Kensington Tube Station, with an old-world, stylish feel to it (think "expert shop selling leather-bound maps"). The shop assistant, herself an artist working on a piece, was very helpful in guiding me to the right parts of the shop to find the supplies I needed for my nascent drawing and painting practice. Art supplies aren't cheap, but I believe I got good value-for money for what I bought. I will certainly be returning (even though I don't live near South Kensington).

Hands down my favourite one stop shop, offering bespoke picture framing as well as ALL the studio materials and equipment you’d expect in an excellent art suppliers. All round good egg and musical goddess Hester Baldwin moved this newer incarnation of Green & Stone to Fulham Road just before Covid hit and it’s since grown - and continues to grow - bigger and better. There is now a beautiful gallery space linked to the shop, attracting artists and buyers from UK and beyond. Every member of staff is also a practising artist and will go the extra mile to help you, make recommendations, order in anything not already stocked (rare because they already have everything you could possibly need). It always looks fresh and is dressed in a kooky, original way. It has broad appeal as a useful high street shop but it also has a particular magic soul and generosity of spirit which few exhibit these days. It is all the things you’d want a good art shop to be whilst also fulfilling the uncommon roles of taste maker, brand experimenter, conversation starter, stationery curator, paint platform, brush bringer, visual educator, celebrity attractor, joy generator… with originality and an authentic cool thrown into the mix. It is stuffed with make-and-do ideas to inspire and original gifts for art geeks of all ages who appreciate quality materials and personalised service… Inhale the smell of canvas downstairs! Flick through all the enticingly bound sketchbooks! Try out all the markers! Feast your eyes on the technical drawing/graphics apparatus! Make time for the plaster casts and gorgeous antiques and rare finds section at the back of the shop, sourced by previous owner Rodney Baldwin, as well as the glittering crafting grotto in the basement! A unique life enhancing establishment to roam and rummage, to be enjoyed and cherished! Leave Amazon alone and go to Green & Stone!!

Stunning art materials, notebooks, cards, wrapping paper, paintings. Even some astonishing antiques linked to art - a tiny silver watercolour set caught my eye, although it was beyond my means. Worth a visit.

The shop was really interesting, full of incredible art supplies and a immaculately curated gallery. The staff were really quick to engage and offer help, they really went above and beyond. The shop operates in a way that makes it feel part of the community which is rare. I could not recommend the shop more!

They had everything I came there for, and a few things I just had to try. They also exceeded my expectations by being very helpful.

Green and Stone is a fantastic art supply shop. Professional quality pigments , paints, varnishes , inks, brushes etc etc. used to be located in Kings Road. Staff helpful, knowledgeable, covering all aspects of the arts and craft supply trade. Most of these traditional shops have gone, luckily a few are still there. Long may it last, an essential business to support the artists and craftspeople of today.

Great Art Shop and Gallery, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The range of art supplies for Artists is amazing, quirky and exciting, it is like a Hobbits Cave full of magical paraphernalia. Summer Exhibition. The Recent Art Opening was very colourful.

Love this place. Art shops can be intimidating, this one isn’t. All the staff are congenial, knowledgeable, and can offer excellent advice no matter your project. The inventory is amazing and has a great selection of locally made materials. Highly recommend no matter where you are in your creative journey.

One of my favourite art shops that has everything one needs. It is also a beautiful antique and framing shop. It sells pigments as well for own paint making and has a great range of paper from hand made to regular suppliers. Also a good range of single pastels and conte crayons and oil paper/boards/canvas. Quite apart from the full range of artist oil tubes, as well as metal tubes for own paint. The craft and stationary, ink side is a Christmas treat to peruse over. A great all round unique shop. It just needs to be bigger!

Wonderful shop, wonderful staff, helpful, enthusiastic and, most importantly, incredibly knowledgeable because they are all artists themselves. Products of a consistently high quality, even the cheaper options, with an extensive stock. Laid out so that you can both find what you need but also likely come across something with which you are unfamiliar which opens up another avenue of creative possibility! Popping in is a joy.

One of the few old school artists suppliers surviving in London. A great shop with more exciting art materials than you can imagine. Wonderful helpful staff. Antiques section and attached gallery.

It's a wonderful place to buy, they have a wide supply for artists, to visit it in person is a lovely experience.
