Made reservations for the Alice tea room. Upon arrival we were seated and asked if we had any dietary restrictions. My husband told them about our request for a vegan option as one of our daughters is vegan. They expressed to us that they could not do anything vegan. Which made me confused as to why they even asked us for dietary restrictions in the first place if they weren’t able to accommodate. My husband pulled up the whole email thread where it was clear that he communicated with him and he responded. I would not recommend booking reservations as they clearly have issues with communicating. WHAT A JOKE! STAFF HAD NO CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING!!!! Very disappointing. I wouldn’t even give it 1 star!!!

A very special experience: such a warm welcome, food is out of this world both in terms of taste and presentation, surroundings are beautiful and comfortable. Party of 5 and we all absolutely loved it 🥰

Beautiful quiet hotel tucked away on a side street. Rooms are very comfortable and staff very accommodating. Loved the tiny little bar on the first floor. Included breakfast was delicious and a lot of food for the price. Gym could use an upgrade but all in all this was a very nice place to stay away from the ruckus. Would stay again.

Honestly this my new go to hotel in London. The service and quality of the rooms is so good! I just had the best stay in the executive suite and thoroughly enjoyed it. Getting a Taxi literally took a few min and they helped with all my luggage. And allowed me to store it after checkout while I shopped at Harrods one last time. Speaking of Harrods it’s an easy 2 turns, 8 min walk from the hotel. Perfect location!

The Franklin was absolutely magnificent. My wife and I stayed in the garden suite for a week, for our honeymoon. We had the highest of expectations, and they were met or exceeded at every turn. The attention to detail, the staff, the restaurant, the massages, the architecture… so much more, everything was perfect. We cannot thank them enough, or recommend them highly enough.

Had the Alice in wonderland tea, pretty poor overall. The sandwiches were dry and tasteless. Anchovies in the sand which’s was an odd choice and the flavours of all didn’t work. They wanted you to pay £5 to try a different tea on top of the price paid and claimed it was unlimited tea on your choice but would only fill the hot water in the kettle with the same teabag? The cakes were presented well but the taste unfortunately was bland and didn’t work. The service was really odd, no interaction given it’s an Alice in wonderland tea expected some energy or engagement. The toilet sinks are not installed correctly, once you open the tap it splashes water at you straight off the sink basin in both the male and female toilets. The service charge was £20! The decor was nice. Overall really poor and the afternoon tea experience needs some work. I would not book if you are interested in the afternoon tea. I would suggest sending your staff and chefs to an afternoon tea at other establishments to understand how to get it right.

I had a 1 night stay at The Franklin in August. I arrived before check-in, but was able to get into the room, which was excellent after a long flight and a lot of travel. The staff were all remarkably friendly and professional. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The room was very well appointed and spotless. I can't begin to express how happy I was while there. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. It was absolutely a refreshing sleep. It was unfortunate that it was only a one night stay. When I return to London in the future, I hope to stay here for a much longer time frame.

We spent 3 nights in London at the end of a whirlwind 3 week road trip around the UK and Ireland, in celebration of our honeymoon and 5th wedding anniversary. After so many nights sleeping in a camper van and because our actual anniversary fell during our London leg, we wanted to splurge. It was well worth it! The hotel is on a very quiet street in South Kensington or Knightsbridge, depending on who you ask. No crowds. No noise. But perfectly situated for pleasant walks to food (try The Terrace fir eggs Benedict with a Turkish twist), coffee, a pub or two, and the S Kensington tube station, from where you can easily get anywhere in London. The hotels decor is somehow both modern and traditional, both English and Italian, and is quaint and beautiful. Our room was divine- spacious, pretty, well-appointed, luxurious and comfortable. The service was impeccable. Upon exiting our Uber, we were immediately greeted by a doorman who insisted on carrying all of our stuff. Check-in was at 4. We showed up at 11:30, fully expecting to ask to have our bags stored while we killed time touring around. But instead, the staff poured us some coffee and readied our room. We were inside by noon - which was a very nice surprise since we’d been in the road for hours and longed for a nap. On the night of our anniversary, we came in from the most amazing meal (Villa di Geggiano in Chiswick) to find a lovely dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate in our room. Very nice touch. We were so sad to leave. The Franklin is gorgeous and the service impeccable. We were made to feel like VIP and it was the perfect topper to such an amazing trip. Stay at this hotel. You will be glad you did.

A Culinary Masterpiece in an Exclusive Setting I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Franklin London, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience from start to finish. This establishment truly embodies the essence of fine dining, with its impeccable food, stunning presentation, warm and attentive staff, exclusive location, and the touch of a professional chef. Their expertise was palpable in every dish, and it was evident that they had poured their heart and soul into crafting each creation. It's not every day that one has the privilege of enjoying a meal prepared by such a talented culinary artist. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was struck by its exclusive location. The atmosphere was refined yet relaxed, making it perfect for a special occasion or a romantic evening out. The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the food. Each dish that graced our table was a work of art, both in terms of flavor and presentation. The menu featured a delightful fusion of flavors, and each bite was a delightful journey for the palate. The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients were evident in every course, leaving a lasting impression.

The staff were highly engaged and helpful. The hotel remains excellently presented and maintained. A small problem on a previous stay had been rectified and particular attention was paid to this matter on my subsequent stay. This was a reassuring demonstration of an attentive management team. Being over-finicky, I happened to drop a coin which rolled under the bed, where I noticed more dust than I would have expected, but this was easily forgiven on an otherwise outstanding experience

Lovely hotel located in a great spot. Room are nice and well decorated (like all the other parts of the hotel). Breakfast is delicious but it took a while to get our order. Staff is very polite and always ready to accommodate your needs.

Thank you so much to the Franklin hotel team who made our wedding night stay at the Franklin so special. We were welcomed warmly, congratulated and upgraded complimentary. A quiet, clean, comfortable and beautiful hotel tucked away in Kensington. Close to the tube, close to Hyde Park, gorgeous rooms and hotel bar, lovely Penhaligons bath products, and one of the more comfortable hotel beds ever. The staff was helpful, friendly, and paid attention to detail making our anniversary trip to London even more special. Highly recommend for couples looking for a fabulous and comfortable stay.

The hotel setting was lovely. Had the Alice in Wonderland Tea. I would not recommend it at all. I have had afternoon tea in many places across London and this was by far the worst. They give you one serving of tea leaves, with the promise of unlimited hot water! I mean what? I had a glass of champagne, two finger sandwiches with stale bread, two other very small round bread things (a mouthful) which tasted of nothing, 2 cake type things (literally mouthfuls) and a jam type compote with berries and a stuffed fig. I asked for the vegan option which came with no scones and I was offered no alternative. If you can't cater properly for vegans then don't offer it. My friends had the normal one which looked slightly better, but still way below what we have been served elsewhere. On top of it all I felt really ill shortly after and thought I was going to be sick. All this for the bargain price of £54. Don't waste your money.

Just had the most amazing afternoon tea experience. The tea selection was top notch and the sandwiches, scones, and pastries were all so delicious. But the real star of the show was our waiter, Thomas. He was such a champ, making sure our tea service was on point and always checking in to make sure we were happy. I would highly recommend this spot for a special occasion or just a casual afternoon out with friends. And definitely ask for Thomas as your waiter, trust me he'll make it extra special!

Came back after 5 years, staff were very welcoming and happy to see head concierge there who is impeccable, but found the overall decor to be a little bit in need of a refurb. One of the lifts was shut off for repair, one of the ladies toilets had a sign to say it was out of use, my room had broken glass table top and quite a bit of wear and tear plus black around the bathtub. With a bit more tlc I think the experience will reflect the price better.

Having booked this hotel for our wedding, we were full of expectation and excitement. Though the hotel did not have any fundamental issues, for the price it felt some what underwhelming. Very much as though it is riding the coattails of its location. Our concerns began with the rather bizarre lack of a formal reception desk to welcome guests which leaves you disorientated and then throughout your stay reenforces an absence of a focal point in which to direct your enquiries. During our stay we found items went missing in the room but on one hand nothing of inherent value but more random items such as coat hangers from home, and storage vessels for various wedding paraphernalia such as storage boxes, flower arrangements and vases. More frustrating but also disconcerting too. Everything felt rather disjointed such as breakfast whether served downstairs or in your room. Or the early closing time of the bar and even the inconsistency of what was and wasn't complementary such as one day a certain bottle of water would be complimentary and the next it was missing its label to identify this. The refreshments menu even had coffee down as free but the tea was £20. Upon leaving, we went to collect our vehicle from the close-by car park which the hotel recommended using as guests received a discount. In reality we were charged full price which amounted to several hundreds of pounds. When we questioned this with the hotel, they began enquiries with the car park and concluded that had not received the agreed discount. Though after several weeks the carpark promised a partial refund, we have not 2 months later received any such refund. It is more the principle and the lack of integrity from both the hotel and carpark which has left a general feeling of disappointment and underwhelm for us following our stay. Please be warned to question everything big and small if you stay at The Franklin.

We had an amazing experience at The Franklin, a little gem hidden in the heart of London. The cuisine is great and very tasty, and the service was excellent. Definitely will come back.
