At first the ambience appears great but don’t be fooled by it. The receptionist was so rude it ruined our entire London trip for us. He embarrassed us in front of our guest who just came to our room on Christmas Day for dinner and literally asked her to leave in between.

For the price simply can't beat it in such a central area. Hotel is older for sure, but clean, staff is helpful and polite. Stayed 6 nights and had turnover service everyday. Clean towels, fridge, iron.. very happy

It was a bad experience from the reception guy , when you check in please make sure that the things are in proper condition,as most of the things we encountered was damaged and the reception guy will deduct money from our deposit after we check out with out any proper explanation. We asked he reception guy to provide the evidence of damage, he is not willing to give that too. Please be careful.

This hotel scammed us. The receptionists were extremely impolite, they took 100 GBP deposit from us before we checked in, this was apart from the full price we already paid through the website. On the day before our departure, our room's sink became clogged due to a maintenance issue. Despite this, they accused us of causing the blockage and deducted 60% from the deposit. When we requested verification with a plumber, they used the excuse of it being Boxing Day, implying the plumber won't be able to come. Unfortunately due to a pre-booked train, we had to leave that day, or else we would have waited for the plumber to confirm it was the hotel's responsibility. This occurred over Christmas in 2023. As I write this review now, I've come across other reviews describing the same problem. It's evident that this scam has occurred multiple times. I strongly advise against booking with this hotel.

It was a work trip and I was very lucky to have rooms at The Brompton Hotel in the heart of London. A small cosy hotel with clean rooms, located in the heart of the city, next to Hyde Park. I would like to say a special thank you to the receptionist who helped me in a difficult situation. Thank you Harry, you are a great professional.

As soon as you enter this hotel you realize how dirty it is. The carpets are not clean. the reception is a kind of closed counter as if you had to protect yourself.... And my room. two twin beds with a window facing a wall...a dirty feeling...ageless old bedding... the hotel is very badly soundproofed you can hear everything... it cracks.... And the cherry on the cake this morning wanting to take a shower no hot water.... In short, an establishment to avoid absolutely!! RUN AWAY !

The room I booked was for two adults and a child(age 12), they gave them a room with a bed and blanket to sleep on the ground. even before going into the room, the ambiance was far off from what was posted, this my wife complained and asked for the money paid. They refused to refund the money, then asked that she stayed. Nothing worked, the sockets were malfunctioning, the safe my wife kept her pieces of jewelry, and on the night before their travel as is tradition, all documents are put in her handbag to avoid forgetting anything. The so-called deposit box refused to open and was showing signs of low battery, she complained to the staff at the reception, he said that the person who should attend to this had gone home and will not be available till 10 am the next day. My wife told him that it was not possible as she needs to be at the airport on or before am for her flight to Toronto, Canada. She then took the initiative to call a locksmith who refused initially to come to assist based on the fact that he will come only at the instance of the hotel but eventually did come since my wife had become hysterical. He came and opened the safe clearly saying it was the batteries that were weak and my wife left. A few days later they wrote that she spoilt the safe and debited the card on file 250pounds sterling. What is accessibility to anywhere when your services are as poor as a 1 star and you are unkind to guests, posts wrong doctored ambiance, steal from guests, and are very unprofessional? I will continue to write this till it gets the attention it deserves and if there is a hotel association in the UK, I will make a formal complaint.

As a solo traveler in London for a weekend this fit the bill. Bedroom was small but it’s London…I was never there except to sleep. Very quiet. Bed was old and not the mist comfortable but clean and I wasn’t expecting a five star experience. I will say that if you have heavy or large luggage or aren’t used to living in a walk up apartment the stairs could be challenging, I just had a backpack so all good. Wifi worked no issues and I appreciated the mini fridge for leftover dinners cold water etc. Location is awesome direct line to Heathrow and steps from V&A, Hyde Park, etc etc. Lots of coffee and quick lunch options right outside so great for being on the go.

As the British would say, this place is "dodgy". Filthy carpeting. Cracked bathroom tiles that cut your feet if you're barefoot. Gray, discolored linens. Uncomfortable, hard beds. Desk clerks who don't speak English and won't help with luggage. Broken light fixtures. Cheap, minimal toiletries. I can't say enough BAD things about this place. I checked out after one night and took a loss on the two other prepaid nights because I couldn't stand to be in this dirty, creepy, disgusting place.

We needed to stay over somewhere central to everywhere and this hotel was ideal. The bedding was fabulous and we slept well. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. It was amazing value for money in that area. Would stay again.

Very average rooms that are tiny and up many flights of narrow stairs (there’s no lift). For the price you pay, this place is well overpriced. I’d prefer to pay double and stay somewhere nicer.

This hotel needs some tlc but my room was OK, linen was clean and bed was comfy. Very quiet at night which was a welcome change from my usual stays in London. No food or drink available but lots of local amenities. Great location for museums and Royal Albert Hall x

Place looks like it was from the 1950's and the floor cracks when you wear shoes. There are so many stairs that I feel like i'm dying when I get to my room. However the beds were comfy and there was a fridge in my room which is rare for a hotel room.

Does not feel like a 3 star hotel at all. No lifts, small rooms, no air-condition, inflexible staff. Would not recommend if you have any luggage because reception is on the first floor so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. When you reach the reception, you have to climb more stairs. Felt like we were staying in a school dormitory. At 10.30PM we received a call saying guests had to leave at 11PM sharp. There were airport strikes and we asked if we could have an additional guest wait in the room until 2AM to send us off and they said no. So we had to check out 1 night before. Please stay somewhere else. There are so many hotels in that area that have better service with nicer staff who would be more compassionate about our circumstance.

Day one I would have given 4 stars because I know what I’m getting for the price I paid. Good communication. Clean Good location(by the train station But second day, basic things weren’t working: No hot water in the shower Toilet didn’t flush

Located very close to "South Kensington" tube station. We had a quiet room towards the backyard. The bathroom was very clean and we had a power shower on the 5th floor! The towels were soft and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were clean, too. The only thing we were not happy about was the Wifi - it did not work properly, unfortunately.

Apart from a very unfriendly receptionist who twice told me I couldn't invite anyone to stay with me overnight (I was dressed in office clothes but felt like I was wearing a bikini). The room itself was great, very clean, a little balcony, a fan, a kettle and lots of towels. It's in a fantastic location if you do want to socialise, but I was staying because my trains had been cancelled so was relieved to have everything I needed.

Well, it seemd to me that majority of people are just spoiled or too snowflake for anything, or just want to leave negative review no matter what. We are family of three, with little child and stayed in this place for 3 nights. When you pick place for stay, it's only two things - price or location. Our was location, and it was marvelous for our purpose. We went to Hyde park, all museums that are 5 min walk. If you want to see center, no problem, there is minute walk to tube and 3-4 stations after there you are. Rooms are doing their job, we got our on first floor because baby and it was big enough, clean enough and with coffe maker and mini fridge. Clean towels everyday included. Stuff are helpful and ready to answer and help any problem we had. Only downside is outside noise ( ok, and inside one night after girls came back form their pub crawl). But mind you, location is on high street near tube, be prepaired for some mingling early in the morning or late saturday night. This hotel done his job for us, not the shiniest place but if you are here to sightseeing and exploring, it's safe base for you and your family.
