😠 Well, I can’t believe I am saying this. But this place is ABSOLUTELY RACIST towards brown people/people of colour. And that’s so ridiculous. We tried to get a table as a walk-in and the person outside stopped us and asked us if we had a booking and we said no. One of our members was wearing a scarf... Well, I can’t believe I am saying this. But this place is ABSOLUTELY RACIST towards brown people/people of colour. And that’s so ridiculous. We tried to get a table as a walk-in and the person outside stopped us and asked us if we had a booking and we said no. One of our members was wearing a scarf and he stared at her and looked inside and looked at us again. A white couple then came and said they were walk in too. And he allowed them entry and gave them a table. While walking in - the woman looked at me and said ‘I am so sorry I don’t know what happened here, weren’t you here before us?’ The man told us to wait and then was like ‘ okay fine go in’ and there were so many empty seats inside I don’t know why we had to wait? But every single person inside or group was white. I know this sounds crazy but I honestly feel they are trying to maintain a ‘white atmosphere’. He kept staring at us from the window panels and we were so uncomfortable. We were all women of colour! So we ended up leaving without ordering. Absolutely do not recommend just because of this.

Staff are very helpful and nice. Lamb chops, kabab and Tandoori chicken were so tasty. He chickpea starter Chana Chat was flavourful and I could just eat that with rice. We had vegetable curries with rice, garlic naan and chapati for the mains. Vindaloo, Jarfrazi and Rogan Josh. Vindaloo was really spicy and it’s perfect for those who love really spicy food. There are two tigers on the black walls facing (side ways) each other. Women’s toilet is in downstairs. Spacious, but it didn’t smell nice. I’m glad I didn’t go there before eating. Despite that, I’m happy to go back there to try other dishes.

Food was okay but to be fair what we got for £20/pp was insane (Two alch drinks, a naan, rice, a main and a starter). On that basis I’d say this place is worth going to if you want a cheap and cheerful curry, the rice isn’t great, the naans were avg but certainly recommend the Gosht Kata Masala

We ordered Tandoori Chicken and Lamb. The meats are overcooked. Our drinks mango lassi are too sweet. Restaurant is overcrowded and too noisy. I won’t recommend this place as you can find better alternatives in London

One of the most beautiful curries in London and Brick Lane. Great service from all the staff. We had a nice table inside with plenty of fresh air coming in. Highly recommended

The food was tasty and the service was friendly, but there were two big issues: 1) The restaurant was empty when we walked in and it still took more than 30 mins for our food to arrive. 2) I specifically asked for spicy and impressed upon the waiter that I'd been to India like 20 times and was looking for that level of spice, and the dishes I ordered are normally spicy anyway. What we got, while flavorful, was literally like supermarket mild salsa-level spicy. Very disappointing.

Ordered takeaway, friendly staff but unfortunately complete waste of money buying biryani from here. I was in the area so thought we'd try it, the rice is literally broken crumbly :( and chicken was very dry, just truly disappointed as I spent over £60 buying 5 portions.

We had just an hour to sit and eat so we chose this Indian restaurant and we were not disappointed! The service was welcoming and quick all while being attentive to our every need! We were able to have a conversation with some of the staff while we were waiting and when we were given our food we were met with an explosion of flavour! We chose to sit outside in the sun and as we ate our lovely dishes we were transported to India! Would recommend this for anyone who loves spicy foods!

Great curry in Brick Lane. My wife and I decided to visit on a whim and thankfully made the right choice in The Bengal Village. The service team were all friendly efficient and happy to help, food was delicious and portions just right. Would definitely recommend it and will visit again

Amazing place! Service is incredible so is the food! Delicious every time. Josh was our waiter he was super accommodating and incredibly helpful and recommended different dishes for all of us and we all lived them! We had a friend visiting from abroad and took him to this place because we know it offers incredible food and service and as expected we weren't dissapointed.

We went to the Bengal Village for a team dinner after work. The man outside offered us free drinks and low and behold the first round was deducted from the bill!! Drinks were ordered quickly with a couple of standard Cobras and two soft drinks, served with our poppadoms and dips. Starters was onion bhaji that were the right balance of crispy outside and soft inside. Not too oily either. My main was a lamb shashlik balti with mushroom rice and it was delish!! Others in the group had butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and something I can’t remember. Mine was amazing and reports from the others said the same. Food, service, drinks and atmosphere all great. I would say the place could do with a spruce up, especially the bathrooms, but that’s the same with a lot of restaurants on brick lane.

I had the absolute best meal here the other evening with my family. I was here on Holiday and luckily stumbled across this place. Not only was the service some of the best I have ever received, the food was to die for. I really appreciated the help with recommendation of dishes. If I could I would never eat Indian food anywhere but here ever again.

Great place for some good Indian food in London. The chicken tikka masala is different from the North American version in that it's sweeter and less creamy, but still delicious. The balti lamb was great too. The only disappointment was that they don't have any coffee, tea, or dessert for after the meal. This is the first time I've been to an Indian restaurant that didn't have any chai.

We treated ourselves to a selection of curries, accompanying rice and, of course, the staple Naan bread. The bread was soft, making it the perfect vessel to scoop up generous portions of the curry sauce. The smoky lamb curry and saag paneer stood out with their robust flavours, albeit being on the milder side. However, the Chicken tikka, butter chicken, and vegetable korma proved too sweet for my palate, and I found myself missing the heat typically associated with Indian food. While I believe this sweetness could be a reflection of local preferences, it's worth noting that the quality of the food, especially the meat, was commendable. Overall, Bengal Village offers a unique interpretation of Indian cuisine that's sure to please those who prefer a sweeter, milder take on these traditionally fiery dishes. However, if like me, you have a penchant for the heat, this might not be your cup of tea.

What a night! All the staff were brilliant, the food was exceptional and it's very very well priced. The meat platter starter cooked to perfect, vindaloo and phaal were perfect. 10/10 all day.

Probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The coconut sea bass was the star of the show here, it was just perfectly prepared. Not to mention absolutely stellar service! It was zero for good food and the portions were fair. He loved it.

One of the pleasant eating place in brick lane in case you need to devour Indian meals. I had been ingesting at this region for greater than three weeks and became in no way disappointed. Mr. Varun will pay interest to all of the clients and makes positive everyone flavor is met. He typically made dishes past the menu. Must visit region!

A actual Indian eating place and the pleasant Indian meals I've needed to date. Many particular dishes which you can not discover at usual Indian curry eating places. A actual deal with. Staff became perfect. Price became very affordable - a lot much less than predicted given the quality.

The Bengal Village Restaurant offers catering services that have always been exceptional. Perfect for any special occasion, the dishes are cooked with fresh ingredients and include a range of classic flavors. From their vegan selection to the wide array of seafood, there's something to suit every palate. Highly recommended for quality and convenience.

Amazing relaxed casual dining with excellent food with something for everyone. He was on a business trip with a variety of palettes and tastes, but everyone left happy. We didn't break the bank and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was amazing, including one of the best hosts ever.

Five years have passed since our last visit, but the experience filled our incredible memories. This is truly one of the best Indian restaurants in the world and we have tried many! The food and staff shone again. We'll return.

Phenomenal food and administration. We came over for a lunch and we had the option to track down a table without reservations. We had the 3-course lunch tasting menu and it was astounding. Adored the protein and chutney.

Some of the best Indian food you can get in London and by extension the UK. A beautiful restaurant, brilliant, attentive, well-intentioned service and a fantastic menu that stays true to Indian cuisine while still being innovative and modern. Great vegetarian options and drinks menu, lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend going.

A great restaurant to dine at if you are looking for authentic South Indian food. Good environment and good reception by the front team. The only thing that could have been better is the slightly narrower spacing between the seats. It would be great if this could be taken care of
