Camped 2 nights in Woodford State Park. Would love to come back! Well maintained sites, and waterfront access to a nearby reservoir. All the wildlife in the area speaks volumes to how well this place is kept: owls calling at night, loons calling at sunrise, salamanders outside the bathrooms, and much more. Dogs are permitted to camp here, but must be kept on leash and you are expected to pick up after your animals.

Amazing experience camping at Grout Pond, Branch Pond, Bourne and Lye Wilderness. Hiking, kayaking ,biking, camping, birdwatching, cooking on a fire pit and of course fishing. In my opinion, I felt such a sense of freedom and beauty and the option to do it all.

We are loving the Green Mountain National Park and the area! Make sure to visit all opportunities to see the mountains from the park and outside. See them from above the treetops and from the towns and river. Visit Mount Equinox, Stratton, the town Manchester and neighboring towns, they are everything we were hoping to find. We have another month in the area and are searching out the many covered bridges and hikes. We are Boondocking in our Class A RV at Winhall Brooke Campground along the West River. Highly recommended!

A lovely national forest. They have some awesome dispersion camping sites throughout both the north and southern parts. Online even has a pdf with detailed locations, which made it so much easier for us to figure out where to stay.

This place does not disappoint. The thick forest and sparkling rivers are bursting with wildlife and trails. Grab your binoculars for some spectacular bird watching. Go for a easy hike by yourself or with others. You'll love it.

Spent a weekend hiking here, surprisingly warm for spring. I just wish more trees were green. But great place to hike

Great camping spots with some light 4x4 to get there. We stayed at some state spots up north of Rochester and the road definitely requires 4x4 to get up there (depending on wetness a less capable vehicle could make it but just play it safe. Good camp spots, no reservation so first come first serve. Looks like people had been shooting up there before us so don't be surprised. Towns about 20 min away with grocery store and cafe/gas. All in all a good time.

The Green mountain national forest is a big place. You can drive around this for almost an hour. That is a state park here to the New York border inside this. That's a great place to do camping.

Great place to hike. Very secluded. Don't just go and figure you'll find a trailhead. Download a map. They're no all that obvious.

I spent a few days on the AT/Long Trail and could not believe how well maintained and blazed the trail was.

Lake Shaftsbury. Really lovely lake and park. Bathroom facilities were on site and clean with changing rooms. The beach was clean and not too busy. Lots of places to getaway. The only downside was that the path around the lake has a partial closure that I believe is seasonal. We will absolutely be back to this gem!

I feel like with the expansive network of trails in the national forests (N&S), there's something for everyone. Some of my favorite camp grounds and LT Access points are near or in the national forests. It feels like a "must see" (one way/sport or another).

We stayed here for one our first night camping on our honeymoon. We're from Michigan and we donated our DNR price of what it might have cost us to stay plus a little extra for an actual donation. It's a beautiful place. I hope it can gain a little bit of traffic $15 a night at minimum for the donation.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This trail up to Killington Peak was phenomenal! Locals said the trail was flat for approximately 2 miles but it was actually a pretty good incline. The last hour of hiking is extremely steep but the trail is still super nice. The last .2 miles is literally straight up rocks to the top. You’ll have...
