The
National
Museum
of
Racing
Hall
of
Fame
is
a
great
museum
that
documents
the
history
and
thrill
of
horse
racing
in
the
United
States.
It
is
located
in
Saratoga
because
Saratoga
has
the
oldest
horse
racing
track
in
the
nation.
The
museum
consists
of
a
few
galleries
and
each
one
has
unique
artifacts
and
memorabilia.
It
should
appeal
to
both
a
major
horse
racing
fan
and
those
who
have
only
a
slight
interest
in
it.
The
museum’s
movie
on
the
thrill
of
horse
racing
is
a
must
see.
The
film
is
narrated
by
Bob
Costas
and
will
give
a
feel
for
what
you’re
about
to
see
in
the
museum.
Be
sure
to
see
the
Triple
Crown
Trophy
near
the
front
of
the
museum.
Go
through
the
starting
gate
they
have
and
learn
about
the
early
history
of
horse
racing
in
the
US.
Perhaps,
some
of
the
most
unique
displays
are
the
chairs
and
scales
they
used
for
weighing
jockeys.
Along
with
this
jockey
silks
from
throughout
the
history
of
horse
racing
are
along
the
walls.
Also,
the
origin
of
the
horse
racing
“purse”
is
explained.
Currently,
they
have
an
exhibit
on
Triple
Crown
winner
Secretariat.
Lots
to
see
in
this
display.
A
statue
of
Secretariat
can
be
seen
in
the
middle
of
the
museum
as
well.
Outside
of
the
museum
is
a
well
put
together
display
of
jockey
statues.
The
gift
shop
is
well
stocked
and
you
can
go
there
without
purchasing
a
ticket
to
the
museum.
Not
sure
if
the
museum
has
more
attendance
during
the
racing
season,
but
during
the
offseason
only
a
few
people
were
there.
Stop
by
to
see
the
museum
when
visiting
Saratoga.
