One of the best restaurants in the area. The venue is large with a bar, plenty of indoor seats and some outdoor tables with beautiful river/ocean view. The food was amazing. Staff are very professional and nice. Breakfast/lunch doesn't require booking but make sure you book for dinner, especial the outdoor area. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely orange flavored pastry, which was delicious, but the flat white coffee, not so much. But you can't beat the ambiance and the location.

This is a lovely venue with high ceilings and lots of open windows and doors to let breeze through. Uninterrupted views of the sparkling water were stunning. The breakfast was tasty, although service was a bit slow. Overall, we had a nice experience.

We had a terrific dinner here. The restaurant is in a wonderful location right on the water. We had lovely service from a couple of very polite and helpful young people. They have a good menu here with ample options. The wine list is fine too with all bases covered. We started with the natural oysters and the Kirkpatrick. Both were delicious We then had the mussels with blue cheese, and the mussels with coriander, chilli and coconut. Both were excellent again. The mussels were plump and plentiful and the broths delicious. The dishes were zinging with flavour, exactly what we were after. We were absolutely delighted with the meal. We’d happily return anytime.

I was there with family for dinner on the weekend and it was fabulous. The staff and the food were amazing, and they were very accommodating with the birthday cake we brought with us. I had the best cocktail ever, the Violet Crumble, yum yum! We all loved dinner and were so happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate a 40th birthday. Thanks!!!

Great to find somewhere for a coffee after 3pm in the area. Wonderful atmosphere and cosy on a dreary day. The best place to be to relax and enjoy the view. A little pricey, but worth it for the enjoyable experience.

A harbour front restaurant with a mix of blackwalls, wood and white plastic tables. Staff were polite but we felt rushed from the moment we arrived, within the first 5 minutes we'd been asked 3 times if we knew what we wanted to order. We barely had to time to sit down, take in the atmosphere, or look at the menu. 2 course meal with a cocktail each was $155.00, prices were a bit on the high side for the quality of the food. The 2 cocktails were good a fruit tingle and a goosemary sapphire which was nice and refreshing. We ordered bruschetta which has Pesto on it which overwhelmed all the other flavours. The trio of dips was okay but the sourdough didn't need to be toasted and the biscuits just didn't work, they were too soft with a strange flour based flavour. We were asked 5 times if we were ready for our mains and we were barely through the entrees. For mains we had the fisherman's basket which was okay, generous sizing and the seafood was well cooked. However the chicken breast while well cooked and tender, was fairly bland. Some of the roast vegetables were burnt and the cheese sauce stuffing wasn't enough. Overall the food was fairly average, while the staff were polite, pushing your customers to order and accept the next course as soon as possible just makes them feel rushed and unlikely to return.

At an average cost of $60 per person, my recent experience at this place left much to be desired. The clam chowder lacked flavor, and my medium-rare steak arrived nearly well done. The cheese mornay with tiny oysters was disappointing, with only one out of six oysters properly melted, as you can see from the photo. While the fish and chips were decent, they weren't particularly impressive. On top of that, the service fell short of expectations. When I asked questions while ordering, I received only curt yes or no answers without any explanations. (the lady seemed to be a manager wasn't bad, she was kinda welcoming though) But unfortunately, this experience leaves me with no desire to return. Just an addition, it's worth noting that when we finished our meal, the lady who took our orders exhibited a lack of courtesy. She simply turned away and seemed to avoid acknowledging our presence, not even offering a simple "Thank you". This further added to the overall disappointing experience. Nutshell - Thanks, but no thanks.

Jake is an awesome host and staff are super friendly. Food is delicious! Paella, sangria and live music is a great way to spend your Friday night.

Husband and I dined here last night, food and service was phenomenal. When we asked questions the staff were well educated on their menu which was honestly so refreshing! Cocktails were to die for, the gentleman serving them clearly has some talent behind the bar! Views are just stunning and set the mood! Especially at sunset. Generous serving sizes, I was unable to finish mine but grateful staff allowed me to take the rest home to snack on later! Although Batemans Bay was a pitt-stop in our journey, I think we might find ourselves wishing JJs was closer to home! Thanks for a great night!

Wish I could give NO stars. Most disgusting meal I have ever had. We were staying locally and tried to book for a meal but they had a function so we did click and collect. We were told we were " lucky" to get in before they cancelled click and collect for the evening even though I ordered it well before their advertised closing time for click and collect. They should have cancelled earlier. We were NOT lucky. $36 EACH for 2 seafood chowders. Mine had 3 prawns , 4 mussel shells ( only 2 contained mussels) and a couple of small pieces of dry fish. My husband had one prawn 2 mussels and a bit of fish - both had a tasteless, unseasoned watery thin milky base with no thickening as you would expect in a chowder. It came with some dry bread. We also ordered extra garlic and cheese bread which was just acceptable. If you were too busy with your function, you should not have accepted our order - we would be $ 80 better off and you would not have this poor but honest review.

Had the big breakfast… very tasty, well presented, everything fresh and delicious 😁. Fantastic location to dine overlooking the Bay. The Staff are friendly and efficient. Background music is pleasing, not too loud and settings the atmosphere just right for a relaxing breakfast. Keep it up guys, your settings the standard others in the Bay can only dream of. Well done πŸ‘

Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Very nice Lemon lime and bitters. We had fish of the day (Ling) which was served with a lovely side salad and chips and was delicious. Also a seafood basket which had the delicious Ling and very tender calamari rings, served with chips, this could of done with half the chips and a side salad added to balance the palate, Okay but would not order this again. Lots of cake options for sweets and these are available to take away. (We just stuck to main and a drink today, for Lunch) Beautiful view of the bay from most tables and outdoor spaces.

Arriving a hour before our booking to enjoy the advertised happy hour, we were told they were shut. Fair enough it's busy and they needed to 'reset the tables'. They could have accommodated us (& others who had done the same thing, with outside tables maybe). I asked if they'd honour a cheaper cocktail (even 1 would be nice customer service) once we were seated for dinner and it was a prompt no. The waitresses were lovely and the bar staff did make great cocktails. Full credit to them. And the view isn't bad either. But, the food was disappointing for the cost. The oysters for our starter were warm (we ordered natural), not cold and fresh as you'd expect, and the garlic bread was soggy. The mains - The steak was good but average veggies, and the corn/zucchini fritters tasted super processed and floury. The rest of the dish - the salad part - was really good though. With not many vegetarian options, I asked if they could make the advertised special of nachoes as a vegetarian dish (i.e. just beans, not meat) and was told no as it's all together. Overall, the waitresses & drinks were lovely, but unless food improves, I wouldn't recommend for the price.

We turned up at Xmas eve without booking. Ended up sitting in their courtyard. Surprisingly it's better atmosphere than indoor. Live music, freshly cook paella with fresh seafood, a pina colada, great view of the bay is all you needed. Great little spot. There was nothing that was disappointed us. Fish of the day was great, very fresh. Hit the spot.

Came here for brunch and we managed to get a table without a reservation which was fortunate. I enjoyed the fish burger as the fish was expertly cooked, was real light and fresh and not too overpowering. The rest of the burger was good and i was very satisfied. The coffee was excellent too. Only negative to this place was my mate who ordered a burger and requested for no onions, they obviously read it wrong and stacked his burger with onions which was super disappointing. I get it was super busy but attention to detail is needed. Even with that i still rate the place and would be back again as I’m sure they wouldn’t make that mistake again.
