Not really sure where to start. We visited during school holidays. My husband and I brought our 2 kids, after seeing on the website they did train rides, as our youngest is obsessed with trains. There is a sign out front advertising the rides. It’s also on their website. But when we got there, AFTER we paid, the lady told us the train doesn’t work, but we could sit on it. PLEASE STOP ADVERTISING THAT YOU DO TRAIN RIDES. It’s a major attraction for families, and it’s a rip off when you take their money then tell them it’s not operational.Apparently it’s been out of action for years. So, if you can read and reply to reveiws, you can update that info on your website so you’re not misinforming people. The first thing you notice is the park looks very run down and neglected. The sitting/bbq area has a filthy bbq, cracked plastic chairs, and not clean at all. It looks like the maintenance person has just given up. There’s a lot of enclosures with nothing but garden waste in them. There’s wooden slat little bridges that are broken to the point of safety hazard. It’s just sad. The place has so much potential. And considering the amount they charge, it’s very over priced and underwhelming. The ostrich’s were cool, and the kangaroo’s. And there’s a play area for the kids. But that’s about all that’s positive. No staff around the grounds either. After seeing them blame the state of the grounds on “strong winds” in previous negative reviews,it’s just clear they’re making excuses and just can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Won’t be recommending it to anyone. Really disappointed.

Amazing family business; 29 peacocks and counting; the animals and birds are well cared for ; the train is no longer running , but an enjoyable family outing that definitely needs our support post the fires and Covid issues that have cost them business.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Don’t know what other reviews were on about did they expect Jurassic park style enclosures? It’s a locally run wildlife park with friendly staff. The paths were easy enough to go around even with a cheapo $20 stroller. Easily can spend a couple of hours there.

This whole place is very run down. The animal enclosures need a lot of maintenance. Animals look unhappy. not.much grass in enclosures. No maps are provided so you wander aimlessly through the park. The paths are uneven and tree stumps popping up all over the place making it very hard to push the pram. A lot of the paths are covered in overgrown bushes. There is a miniature train ride which is advertised on the website and on the front fence however after we paid for our tickets we were told it no longer works. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The enclosures lack information on the animals inside. Dont waste your money, this place is not worth it.

I can't believe I have been past a million times and never visited! Way bigger than it looks and the gardens are beautiful! Managed quite well with the twin pram!

What an amazing bird park!! We had a great morning walking around the 8 acres with loads of animals, from birds, kangaroos, emus, ostriches, peacocks, wombats, wallabies, turtles and loads of reptiles. The staff were amazing with loads of information on the animals and their back stories. If you ever get a chance you should definitely check this park out.

We went there last weekend and beside the lady at the counter being friendly, the park is very run down. It was not tidied and was quite eerie. We were the only ones in the park until a family came in. I’m not sure the animals are well looked after and the Axolotl’s tank looked very dirty with murky water; and the birds’ cages looked run down too. Quite disappointed as we thought we were doing a good thing by visiting the park for the rescued animals. We definitely do not recommend it.

AMAZING Place! Seemingly small zoo in the middle of Batesman Bay but it surprised us with interesting animals and even opportunities to feed the kangaroos! Generally love the fact that there are good chances to take great pictures too!

Lovely place. It is run down since the last time I’ve been here. Not many birds left sadly but the remaining ones are very friendly and chatty. Some wombats, minimal reptiles, deer, wallaby’s… You can still collect peacock feathers throughout then park but be warned that any with the ‘eyes’ you need to pay for (which wasn’t like this a while back).

Beautiful range of pheasants and parrots and lots of peacocks and guineafowls wandering around freely. The staff and friendly and helpful. The grounds are very green and lush. You can buy a feed bag and feed the grey kangaroos, the fallow deer, the llamas and many of the parrots and ostrich will also beg for some morsels from your feed bag. Spent two hours there and enjoyed taking selfies with socrates the carpet python and giving Dolly the wombat lots of butt scratches. Fun for couples, families, and kids of all ages.

Staff were welcoming and friendly but the place is quite run down. Sometimes less is more and needs some maintenance. Got to hold a baby wombat which was our highlight of our 40min visit. Pretty small place so perfect for families with small kids.

Family had a great time here & were surprised with how big the park is. Staff were lovely, the wombat/snake show is good. There's a park, toilet facilities etc so if you bring some lunch you can take some time & really enjoy the park. The roaming wildlife was fun & the gardens themselves are beautiful. Don't expect a zoo it's much a smaller, close knit type feel which is lovely.

Lovely wildlife park. Beautiful garden! So many different plants so you can think this is a botanical garden. A lot of peacocks around. Nice place to bring young kids for meeting main Aussie animals. Buy some food for animals and feed kangaroos or deers. There is a playground, toilets, a BBQ and tables. Meet a beautiful python and pet a wombat. I was amazed with 2 huge ostriches!

It has been years since I've been and it still retains its charm. I have a feel covid has not been kind as the paths are a little over grown and some of areas look a little tired, hopefully as tourism picks up they are able to give the park some more upkeep, thankfully the animals appear to been very well looked after. So many wonderful animals to look at and some animals that have been rehomed as they are injured, which is nice they are provided a safe haven. Seeing the two large ostriches was a highlight!! So tall! There are loads of peacocks wandering around, lots of fantastic looking birds too! The snake and wombat show was good fun. We will happily visit again

Friendly staff, $72 for family of 4. Tranquil relaxing place to visit. Loved the echidnas. 🤗🤗The emu was mean and attacked the lamas. And the red Electus parrot attacked the little blue bird hanging onto its tail feathers above 🥴 Only thing I think the place needs is to be more wheel friendly as it was hard to get around with the pram.

Definitely somewhere to visit with kids as we used our discover vouchers on cost a family of four $38. Place is bigger than it looks and worth the wonder with a wombat show that happens a couple times through out the day.

It’s a little down at heel but who cares. There’s lots to see and it’s all a bit of fun. Plenty of birds and animals and pretty good explanations are provided. An easy way to spend an hour or two in lovely Bateman’s Bay.

Absolutely brilliant, a hidden gem. Lots of birds if all sizes including ostrich and emus! You can even feed them which is great fun. Lots of shade when walking around so it's nice and cool, and tons of peacocks.

You can feed the kangaroos, cuddle a wombat or get a selfie with a koala this small animal park near Batemans Bay. Worth a visit just for the fact that the kids can get close to (and often hand feed) such a variety of wildlife, but geeze is the place looking tired! All healthy and well looked after. They staff were very nice and friendly and helpful! Please go visit and support them instead of putting them down when they are already struggling.

Run down and not well maintained. The paths are not paved and not clearly marked. No maps make it harder to navigate. The animal areas are not clean. I was not comfortable moving around with bushes everywhere. The mini train was jot working and was left to rot. Left disappointed with kid. The positives are some good set of birds and animals. They have a good mini train which could be an adventure for kids. I'm hoping that once restrictions are lifted more and the tourism picks up, it will get better.

Lots of lovely and cute animals. I went on a school day so it was almost empty, not many people. Loved feeding the deer and kangaroos.

Amazing place to spend the day with some animals. It was great to feed them yourself and we clicked a lot of photos.

Beautiful little place. Went with a toddler and a preschooler. Was absolutely worth visiting. Can be seen in less than an hour but we took bit longer as kids loved playing with peacocks and fed deers and didn't want to leave. Seen wombat and snake show that was amazing. Never knew wombat could be that cute and friendly. Must go place especially with young kids. Has very tiny playarea as well which our kids absolutely loved

two words: baby wombat. waloo was a highlight for me. the other animals were cool, too, but waloo was bouncing around in his pen when we got there and we were able to give him some pats.

A wonderful place that has so much to offer and so much to see. It was much bigger than we thought, with so many animals as well as birds of all kinds! Worth a visit for sure.

The park is much larger than it first appears and gives the sense of wandering through a botanical garden. The flora is just as enjoyable as the fauna - one of the highlights is the Illawarra Flame Trees near the entrance. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and it is evident that the animals are well cared for. I was pretty surprised by the negative reviews as they didn't reflect my experience at all. The only things in the park that appeared run down were the seating at the front and the bbq / picnic area. The animal enclosures and water features were all well maintained (and the toilet block was pristine). I suspect that the park just had to prioritise limited resources during & post covid, which is pretty reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit.
