A consistently bad experience. The bartenders pay no attention to new customers or anyone in need of a drink. Painful Long wait at the bar every time. It's hard to believe the place next door is owned by the same people. Night and day different customer service. At my last visit there I asked to have a larger bill broken and they didn't end up giving me any change and kept it all as a tip. Classy place. Edit: I went back to the bar for another round after writing the review. The Bartender was pouring beers right in front of me and did not turn around and realize the customer was standing there waiting. I was able to edit this review very easily without anyone noticing me. In fact with three bartenders working two bars that were at half capacity no one took my order and I just ended up walking out.

Horrible reaction by management to their mistake. When I tried to close out my tab they had lost my credit card. They spent 20 mins looking for it while I called my credit card company to check charges. Apparently the bartender put it somewhere and was on break. It seemed like a honest mistake from what I have seen up to this point. I settled my tab and left a good cash tip. When I tried to go back to my friends a bouncer grabbed me and said I had to leave. Not sure how it went from they lost my card to me having to leave to them putting hands on me. They would not even let me say good bye to my friends. I text friends and we all left.

Great place to go to and meet up with your friends. Excellent security that actually treats you like a human until you mess up and you find yourself on the other end of their friendliness. Great food and fun staff. It's like going back in time and finding yourself walking into Cheer's where everyone knows your name. It's that type of place.

Will not accept cr. cards, making an excuse of the POS system down. There was no one waiting on us and the bartender who was the only one taking orders did not care about us just helping her friends while we were waiting in line B4 them. Very obnoxious and rude.

UPDATE: Thank you to the owner I believe for apologizing on behalf of Christian whom apparently was the manager. I didn't have a good experience at all and still won't be going back; at least not any time soon. Christian was very confrontational and demeaning and I don't think I'd be able to hold myself back this time around with his behavior. Again thank you for the apology, sincere or not. Young white Male named Cristian maybe in his mid 30s wearing a green bay packers hat was escorting us out and claimed that even if I have a a service dog I had to go outside. My husband responded he needed to see all tvs and in response the white male responded that "MAYBR NEXT TIME DON'T BRING YOUR DOG". This comment was completely unnecessary, rude and very unprofessional. I've worked in the service industry and in the years of experience I have, I would NEVER speak to a client the way he spoke to us. I told him its federally illegal for restaurants to not allow service animals in food places and he mentioned that per the health department dogs weren't allowed. He then got confrontational with me and I started shaking because of the way he was speaking to me (speaking down at that point) he told me he didn't like the way I was speaking to him and then asked me what services does my service animal provide. I didn't sit there and disclose to him all the services she provides but I told told him enough. I could feel my vision blurring and i was shaking excessively. Then, he stated he was allowed to ask 3 questions (it's 2 actually) which he didn't even know and I corrected him. Question 1 is this a service dog? He didn't ask that AT ALL. Question 2 what tasks does the service dog perform? I answered him. He was very confrontational and in my face. I pulled out Fridas service animal badge since I couldn't find her vest this morning. He then stopped questioning and allowed us to sit next to the door. I could see he felt pretty dumb thinking he knew the law. This man has no type of compassion or customer service. How do you talk to people the way you did? I wasn't going to write a review or report this place to the ADA but he didn't even apologize. He passed by our table numerous times and even approached a group of guys we were chatting with on our way out, and still didn't apologize. It took me an hour to calm down at which point I was crying heavily. Christian seems like a cool person but I guess he took it out on me and my service dog. Never coming here again and I'm reporting this to the agencies responsible. My husband grabbed a drink and food for himself but I couldn't get myself to eat. Please educate your staff throughly on this kind of stuff. Also we didn't even see any signs posted stating no dogs allowed. Wouldn't matter since my dog is a service animal. 0 stars. This does not reflect the server who brought us the food or drink. Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Good food. Great happy hour food. You can't beat a $10 prime rib dip. The bread for their sandwiches is great.

I enjoyed the atmosphere. Great place to grab a drink. Food was good. The only issue was there was only one bartender on a Saturday night around 6:30. The wait for drinks were a little lengthy. I would recommend this bar for locals as well as tourist visiting Long Beach.

The worst bar in Long Beach, definitely the worst! Bad atmosphere, music so loud that it's impossible to talk to friends, I can't talk about the food because we sat at the bar for 30 minutes and the attendant said that in 1 minute she would come to serve us, that is, bad service. We definitely won't be back, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

The food and drinks were good but the doorman and servers kept smoking cigarettes right next to our patio table and one of the bar tenders would pet dogs on the sidewalk and go right back behind the bar without washing her hands. I'd love to see downtown bounce back post COVID but after tonight I really don't want to go back.

Perfect place for a 20s - early 30s crowd. Has the music, drinks, vibe, and crowd. Almost like a clubby bar but without the club or cover charge. Drinks are good, bartenders are as friendly as can be, given they are stretched thin with Friday night crowd. Bathrooms are a miss, but that's kinda to be expected in a bar like this. Piss on the floor, empty drink glasses, etc. My preferred place is hidden underneath, secret island.

They pour huge shots. 2x-3x normal. Prices are fair and the bartender was friendly, but overwhelmed with the crowd.

I use to go to Shannon’s all the time to take a quick shot. The security there put a hit on me and I reported it and I was the one who got 86d. The management there is rude and they don’t help the people who put money in their pockets. It’s unfortunate they staff “security” there who threatens women. I advise you not to go there if you don’t want a hit put on you. They also have police there every weekend which shows their security isn’t good enough to stop fights.

Flew in from out of town on Thanksgiving and the staff waved us down to have a plate of their free thanksgiving buffet. The food was excellent and we felt super welcome.

I'll give this place a 4 star in there aesthetic. Our service wasn't the great. Took a while to take our order, bring food out &check. Considering we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Wouldn't come back

Come check out Shannon’s on Pine if you’re looking for a cool sports bar with a good selection of beer on tap and some delectable comfort food. The menu is on point, they have good nachos that are filling and loaded. The outlaw burger is a must if you’re a burger lover like myself. Try the buffaloes wings and the elote and the fish tacos as well. Catch a game in there anytime of the week and chow down and drink up.

I love this place I just hate it at the bartenders are not on the same page one bartender will charge you $12 for a shot and a beer and another bartender charge you 11 or 13 and it's hard to get a drink when it's packed in here but I do like the environment and the vibe

Cool spot but the layout is janky and restrooms could use a lot of attention downstairs as that's the original bar and for as much money as this place makes there is no excuse for having a bathroom that looks like a slaughter room... Outside of the small things the place is fun and will get you lit!

If you are looking for a fun dive bar this is the spot. Not into craft cocktails or anything fancy. They do have pool and shuffle board as well as TVs for sports watching.

Shay is always a favorite! Shannon's is always accommodating a great place to come weekend night outs when you're doing your bar hopping in long Beach. It's a staple to make sure to visit out in long Beach... there's no cover and still it's a good time.

Dive bar. It's been in Long Beach for years. It's fabulous on the weekdays but it can get very busy. It's certainly fun on St Patrick's Day, tho, of course. They have a new upstairs area that is very clean. I was up there during the day when it was super bright and the windows opened so it was kept fairly cool. I wouldn't go back deliberately. Nothing is particularly great about it, except the location.
