On my out to the Cali Vibes Fest I stopped at Fuego for some seaside dining. I started with the Grilled Lamb Chops with Chimichurri, Jalapeño Pepper Escabeche, Spring Sweet Peas, Roasted Sweet Potato with Cotija Cheese. This appetizer was the best dish of the evening. The lamb was cooked perfectly, meaty, and full of flavor. I would hands down recommend starting with the lamb. The meal that followed wasn't as good. I had the Ropa Vieja, a Cuban Style Braised Short Rib over a Black Bean Purée on Crispy Corn Tortillas with Cabbage Escabeche, Caramelized Plantains, and Crema. The first thing I noticed was that my fried plantains were cold and the short rib was warm at best. I was very disappointed in the temperature of my meal. The flavors were there I guess, but the portion was so small. For $33 I expected more than a scoop of meat and a pile of cabbage. The meat to cabbage ratio was way off. My guest had the Pan-Roasted Chilean Seabass with Fried Sage Brown-Butter, Blistered Tomatoes, Mashed Acorn Squash, and Chanterelle Mushrooms. The fish was actually pretty good and piping hot. Maybe my dinner was left in the window waiting for the fish to be cooked fresh and that's why mine was cold. While the fish was good, again, it was a really small portion for the cost. To keep from going to the concert still hungry, my guest and I ordered the Shaved Street Corn with Garlic Aioli, Queso Fresco, and Tajín. The street corn was better than both our dinners. The food is decent. When you come here, keep in mind that you're going for the water front views and atmosphere and you'll be okay.

The view is incredible. Definitely a reason to stop in for lunch or dinner. I had the crab cakes and the chicken tortilla soup. The crab cakes were a little on the cakey/bread side for me and the tortilla soup tasted like boiled chicken. It wasn't very appetizing. The server was polite and prompt. Go for the views and drinks.

Absolutely Wonderful! We were staying at the hotel here and we had both lunch and dinner here. Everything here was wonderful; service, environment, food, atmosphere! There was nothing bad on the menu. For dinner we sat outside and they had outdoor heaters, which was nice because you are on the ocean. Definitely need to try the Mayan Legend for dessert

The food was delicious and fresh. Our waiter was patient and courteous, he even offered us something that was a house secret because he realized we love spicy food. The view was spectacular. Strongly recommend.

This is a very nice restaurant if you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. I went for my cousin's birthday dinner and it was so nice. The food, the service and the views of the marina were perfect. We ordered the roasted brussel sprouts for an appetizer and the salmon with black bean sauce for an entree. The food was delicious! Also the chips and salsa and guacamole were so good. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was excellent and the bathrooms were very clean.

Had the chicken plate. The chicken itself was amazing!!! BUT the stuff that came with it was bland and not as good, so for the price it was ok. The Cuban plate was really really good, that had good balance with everything it came with. We also had the chocolate trio for dessert and it was soooo good! Waitress was a bit busy with a big party so we waited some time after entrees to get our dessert. Overall it was nice, but it comes with a big price! The food was good but not great to come back again.

Fuego at the Maya Hotel in Long Beach. If you looking for a place with the most breath taking view or special occasion like any celebration etc. as soon as you step into the main dinning room the entire ocean front view the port of marina and the infamous Queen Mary it’s to die for! Since it’s hotel restaurant therefore expect to pay premium $$$$ for the meal! Easily $100 per head with a drink.

This place with the terrace has a wonderful view. But it ends up in cutting corners when it comes to food, hospitality and vibes. The food was somehow delicious but finally with so much salt that I had to drink 2 glasses of water and cannot finish it. Hospitality is a mess, first you enter into a parking where it seems you will have to pay more then 30$ because nothing mentioned that rates are different for the clients of the restaurant. Then signs to park are sending you in the opposite direction of the restaurant. Finally heaters were cooking our skin instead of warming our bodies. Vibes were ok even thought we can expect to have a much better ambiance in this type of facility.

what a rip off. $199 for three entrees and three glasses of wine. reduced menu with limited selection and everything drenched in creamy sauces. overpriced food with mediocre sides and only a handful of selections. don't be fooled by the ambience. The hotel is designed to trap cruise ship passengers who are unable to leave the complex. Validated parking was still $5 !!!!

I grew up in Los Angeles and I cannot believe that I have missed this place all these years! I'm so glad that I got to spend our one year anniversary here! The views are absolutely absolutely epic and the tequila selection was impressive with some very decently priced rare finds. The food was on point too! The only critical feedback I have is please trim the Palm trees, even if it's not your property. Pay the fine, go to jail, whatever it takes. It would really help the view stand out even more!

Wow, the views are beautiful, calming. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We had a great time. So relaxing and inviting. Our waitress was super friendly & helpful. Made all the difference with such positive energy. Make sure to get your parking ticket validated! Or it’s about $13 or more per hour to park. The restaurant is located inside the Maya Hotel with views of the bay and Queen Mary.

This was an amazing find! We just stopped in for a drink at the restaurant with some friends who had been before. Cocktails we’re great, the service was good and the atmosphere…amazing! Great view of the bay and the Queen Mary. It looks like it would be a great place to stay and spend some time.

The Seabass and Salmon was superb. The sauces, veggies, and forbidden rice that came with the fish was delicious as well. Service was good: not intrusive but polite and attentive. This place is definitely a hidden gem unless you live in Long Beach. We are definitely coming back during daylight to compare to the nighttime view and, hopefully stay at the hotel again so we can rent the Jet Ski and explore the area more.

We enjoyed our brunch at Fuego restaurant at the Maya hotel. The view of the harbor was amazing, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I ordered the machaca with eggs and the breakfast burrito, and both were tasty and filling. The machaca had a nice shredded beef flavor with scrambled eggs, cheese, and salsa, and the breakfast burrito was loaded with bacon, potatoes, eggs, and cheese. Also, the prices were a bit high for what you get. Which is typical for a hotel restaurant. The lady sitting behind us ordered the eggs Benedict and asked if she could get the eggs over easy. 🙄Overall, it was a good experience but not exceptional. 3.5/5 stars.

This restaurant is on in such a beautiful scenic area that I wish their food matched it. The food was ok, not extremely flavorful, just ok/good. I’m not sure if it’s the staff’s hospitality or the wobbly tables that spill your drinks that made this experience miss something. Maybe I went on an off day? I did enjoy the tuna appetizer but I was not a fan of the cauliflower dish or the fondue dish, but they do have a red toasted Chile oil that I was enjoying on that cauliflower appetizer, the cauliflower was just to hard to cut and with the wobbly tables we had to be careful not to spill our drinks. We stayed for 2 nights at Maya and we only at ate dinner at Fuego 1 time, the last day since there isn’t anything local you can go walking too, we decided to order in and boy were we shocked when our two egg bacon breakfast, an omelette, 2 coffees and 2 orange juices and an green yogurt (which had 5% yogurt, all granola) was over 105 dollars. Never again! This restaurant misses the mark but it has alot of potential, we were drawn in by the professional photos on their advertisement but now we know first hand what it’s really like. I would return for the scenery and how beautiful the sun sets in this area and I would definitely try something else on their menu in hopes that it can draw us in to be more frequent here. Hope you all enjoy your experience.

The burger was mediocre and too well done it lost any flavoring that may have been on it, even with adding a dash of salt and pepper and tons of ketchup it still couldn't be saved. Fries were okay nothing special. Took a while to be acknowledged by a server. Won't be coming back here any time soon.

Very nice restaurant. Great view of the harbor and the Queen Mary. Service was top notch. Menu selection is upscale. Food and portions were really good. It’s expensive. It’s very good, but it will only be a special occasion place.

I ordered the Shrimp Adobo (I think that is how you spell it 🤦🏾‍♀️) it was my 1st time trying that dish so nothing to compare it to, however I did enjoy it. Our waiter was also pleasant & very attentive. Needless to say "I'LL BE BACK" - in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice 😉

Great place to dine by the water overlooking the iconic "Queen Mary". Drinks 🍸 by Bobby where awesome, and the sea food tasty 😋. If you like Ceviche, get the Sampler Platter and you get to enjoy them all without committing to a single style. 😀

Smaller dishes but very satisfying. Quiet. Upscale. Beautiful view. Staff is friendly. Food was ready fast. Everything was tasty. The salsa is completely underrated. Worth the price. Creme Brule was amazing!

Had the pork chilaquiles and the flavor was good but the small tortilla that was fried made for a nightmare to cut I'd rather have strips or chips or some other form of tortilla. Just my opinion. The flavor was pretty good the service was as expected of covid time's for bringing short staffed. I would like to possibly come back for lunch one day but the breakfast I had needed some change in my opinion.

I love this place. Came for lunch for the first time since COVID. Beautiful view, helpful servers. Got fish tacos and a glass of wine. Dog friendly for trained dogs.
