I don’t come here as often as I should. I love coming to this location. Their food is delicious, they make really great drinks (definitely not watered down), and their employees are always friendly and welcoming. To me, when I’m craving crispy fries I think of Islands. You can’t go wrong with their beachside sliders which are only $5-$6 during happy hour 15:00-18:30. Great place for enjoying a day with family or friends

Great food, great ambiance -- so good in fact forgot photo my tasty grilled chicken-steamed vegetables in hoisin sauce bowl. Friend had the packed & juicy burger pictured (don't recall name or ingredients).

Food was ok. I enjoyed the truffle fries but the quesadilla was pretty basic, even though the spicy sauce was good. Friends didn’t enjoy their burgers or sandwiches very much

Great venue to watch the race at Long Beach Grand Prix, especially with outdoor seating. Ocean Bowl is a nice alternative to burgers and fries. Fish needed seasoning and a bit over cooked, otherwise, a perfect lunch.

Food was delicious but a little slow. Bar drinks were prompt though! That was nice.

Islands is always a treat. Our server was excellent and as always the food was excellent. I had not been there for a while and the chicken sandwich I ordered was delicious and juicy. My mom ordered a burger, when she liked very much, but the burgers seem to have gotten noticeably smaller.

After a long convention day we came here and ordered almost every part of the menu. All positive impressions. I got impossible burger along with truffle fries and also shared cheesy fries. My friends got salad with fried chicken. All tasty.

The Hawaiian burger is my favorite! Added onion rings on the side, and the frose (not pictured) was perfect for the hot day. Service was attentive and friendly.

Went here last minute & we LOVED it. Everyone's burger was great, the fries were awesome (both regular & sweet potato) & they had good drinks! Can't wait to go back

we ate hamburger, calamari, french fries and chicken wings at the restaurant. The fries and calamari were undercooked and the chicken was not crispy. The hamburger meat had an intense black pepper flavor. Mango IPA was very delicious. The onion rings were very well fried (I haven't even eaten any more delicious). The staff is very friendly. The place is clean and colorful, it is a very pleasant place. It is in a central location. Prices affordable

Wow, a restaurant that has 5 stars from me, crazy. I popped in just because I like burgers so I got welcomed at the door, sat immediately and every 7-10 minutes my waiter checked up. It was flawless! The Malibu Burger and tortilla soup was so darn good, I was and am baffled. I expected to find some issue here, nope. Service was what really did it though, Yuri, my waiter was prime time for LA service. Though Long Beach isn't LA I guess, but dang, thanks for the perfect experience. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Our server wasn't necessarily the friendliest, not sure if that was just her personality. We had to ask for everything: silverware, condiments, straws ... Which felt like pulling teeth. The chicken pieces for the nachos could have been a bit smaller. My eating mates didn't like the fries, said they seemed hollow. They were fine to me.

Came in for a quick drink during non peak hours. I didn't order any food I simply needed to get some work done and enjoy a fresh draft. I ended up taking up my server Yolanda suggestion and got one of their specialty drinks. A little sweet for my taste but worth the experience. She offered to replace it but I was actually having a good time. She was very sweet and always smiling. I'll be coming back. I'm not a fan of this type of food in general but I do enjoy the service and atmosphere. She was beyond welcoming.

Maybe hit them on an off night, but our group wasn’t impressed overall. The chicken sandwich was meh, burgers were pretty good, soup was good (gluten free), and the chicken wrap was alright. Service was a little on the slow side for refilling drinks, and one glass had lip stick on it. Alex was a friendly server.

We were staying at the Marriott and walked down to the Pier. On the way back we stopped in at the “Island Restaurant” to order Take-out!! My daughter placed her Gluten Free order online and I ordered in Person. There was a great atmosphere, I was greeted when I entered the restaurant. They had nice outdoor seating and also an area out front where I waited after placing my take-out order. All the staff members were very friendly. It was a busy Friday night and they had bags of to-go orders lined up. It took about 12 minutes to make both of our orders. The food was good and the best part was both of our meals were each under $20. Now, that’s hard to find a dinner meal that $13.95. Will definitely eat here again!!

The food was great. The server was… ok. I’m not sure if it was him or the restaurant that removed the ability to modify the tip, but it ended up reducing his tip. An $11 tip on a $28 bill?! Really?! Do better. I’m sure they hope people won’t notice and will just appreciate the convenience of paying at their table, but some people *DO* pay attention and won’t frequent restaurants that are trying to rip off their patrons.

This place is a gem in downtown LA. I was recommended by the person we were staying with and he didn't disappoint at all. You can BYOB here for a fee, which usually settles for the better priced option, even though there is a terrific $10 fee for a regular sized bottle. We were seated quickly and the service was great, really spot on. The pasta dishes are very good overall and the portions are not too big at all. We really enjoyed our evening here!

Food, I got the Chop Chop Salad. Bed of fresh veggies, bacon bits, BBQ style dressing and fried crisp breaded chicken breast. Perfect portions with amazing taste!!! Service: Fast, accurate and polite. Everything I needed was provided. Place was also clean. Final thought: The restaurant is in a tourist location plenty to do after. Next time I will get a burger. I will be back 🙂
