I
needed
a
fun
double-date
idea
that
would
both
impress
and
inspire
conversation.
Fortunately,
The
Exhibition
Room
was
the
right
call.
Settled
within
a
hidden
section
behind
the
walls
of
Roxanne's,
our
party
of
four
squeezed
past
the
busy
Friday
night
crowd
and
waited
on
the
back
patio
until
our
allotted
time
came
around.
A
few
drunk
people
had
curiously
been
playing
in
the
phone
booth
but
made
an
expedient
retreat
once
a
small
line
of
well-dressed
folk
had
formed
and
it
was
made
apparent
that
we
all
needed
to
get
in
there.
The
couple
in
front
of
us
lifted
the
handset
and
used
the
password
that
we
had
all
been
texted
earlier
that
day.
Some
people
were
growing
impatient
but
the
hidden
door
opened
after
a
small
wait.
Each
group
shuffled
in
and
had
to
share
the
passphrase.
Anyone
not
up
to
dress
code
(collared
shirts,
intact
clothing,
etc.)
were
turned
away.
Frankly,
those
people
also
admitted
to
not
having
made
a
reservation
as
well.
Go
figure.
Once
inside,
we
enjoyed
the
well
decorated
interior
and
appreciated
the
spaciousness
(compared
to
the
Roxanne's
crowd)
as
a
live
band
played
jazz
in
the
corner.
The
cocktails
were
tasty
and
well
mixed.
Devin,
the
mixologist,
came
over
to
our
table
and
chatted
for
a
bit
as
we
all
shared
a
drink
together.
Here's
to
him!
It
was
impressive
that
he
and
the
waitress
were
able
to
get
everything
done,
especially
since
they
were
short
a
doorman
and
had
to
bounce
around
between
answering
the
door,
shooing
away
drunk
folk
that
pushed
their
way
in,
and
serve
the
patrons
all
in
short
order.
We
finished
our
drinks
and
listened
on
to
the
crooning
music
as
the
band
finished
their
final
song.
We
paid
our
check
and
waved
goodbye
before
wandering
off
to
find
food
at
an
ungodly
hour.
Overall,
a
10/10
experience.
