Real Good BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Order it Carolina Style with the vinegar based BBQ sauce. Yummy. Took home some made to order fried chicken for tomorrow's dinner. Yes, they have real Sweet Tea. This homesick Southern gal feels a little closer to home.

A really good southern-cooking place that is very family friendly. The location is a bit small, but the food and the crew that work here are amazing. Always look forward to a trip here. Recommended is the peach lemonade and chicken friend steak. Bbq omlete is also quite delicious!

The 3 stars is literally for the customer service. They staff was super sweet but the food was just ok. Nothing really dazzled me which such a disappointed cause the reviews were so great. In my opinion, it need more flavor.

Idk what happened? New owners? The ribs are boiled lacking flavor the sauce is generic. After eating the ribs it left me wanting tacos. The rib meat both pork and beef had a flavor better suited for tacos. Also looked undercooked.

I couldn't believe that I had never been here before... This cute little place was everything I hoped for.... My server Matt(with 2 T's)was a really cool guy as well as server... My family had a nice dinner and we felt welcomed... The BBQ is really good .. The burnt ends(which I came for) were OMG... So freaking good... The bbq sauce on my beef ribs were my least favorite part.Taste a lot like ketchup... But I was not mad... I will be back for sure.. Next time im getting it all dry...

Great service! Thank you Jen Z! We had an early for us dinner. Upon entry we were greeted with smiles, it was super packed o we got to choose where we sat. After going through the menu options I decided on baby back ribs (recommended by Jen) and my other half decided on a 2 meat plate, friend chicken and hot links. We got a half order or okra to share, it’s always delicious! Oh and peach and cherry lemonade, it comes in this massive jar 😃. The food came out just on time and we grubbed like we hadn’t eaten all day. Of course we had to have dessert so we got the peach cobbler 🤤. Because it was my other half’s first time it was on the house, what a nice gesture. 10/10! I’ve been coming here for ten years and I’ll keep coming as long as it’s here. Great food and service all around. And the location is nice too.

I’m from the South so I was expecting this spot to be like most in SoCal trying to have authentic Southern food. But Johnny Rebs is LEGIT!! The sweet tea is perfect. The fried chicken is like my grandma used to make. The collard greens are on point. And most importantly the macaroni and cheese is amazing. The only complaint I have is that it’s to far from where I live. Haha

Omg, so good. You must go here for Fried Green Tomatoes. I was so full. They have the best sweet tea in Long Beach

Ate here on Friday night, July 3rd 2022. Matthew, was our server. He was fantastic! My wife had macaroni and cheese barbecue bowl with beef. I had the chicken fried steak. The dinners were fantastic. You will not go hungry here!

My boyfriend and I were trying to take out our family for a nice dinner here when we arrived we were seated right away. The waiter seated us towards the back of the restaurant. We waited for 20 min and no one came and asked us for our food or drinks. This place was not even crowded or anything so I dont understand why we were just forgotten about... After wasting our time waiting we left. This was a huge disappointment because we were really looking forward to eating here. Never going back.....

1st time dining at this establishment. My friends suggested I try it since I wasn't able to go to New Orleans due to Hurricane Ida. Started with an appetizer plate of Boudin balls (not pictured). They were great. Ordered a 2 meat bbq plate of brisket (chopped) and tri tip with greens, Cajun rice and hush puppies. Bbq was solid - not great, but still good enough to satisfy my desire. Could've used a little more time on the grill imho. Greens were tasty, not too salty. Cajun rice was excellent, not mushy, not dry, just right. Hush puppies were awesome. I asked for plain but got the jalapeno ones and was pleasantly surprised. I don't like foods too spicy hot, but the jalapenos added a nice touch to the hush puppies. Matt was our server and awesome. He was busy running around as the place seemed short staffed for a weeknight, but still did a good job of checking in on us. I definitely plan to come back another time to try the other food they have.

Great BBQ. Came here on a date and decided to come back with a crowd. They offer an outside patio for parties of 10 or larger. Out door heaters work really well. Do watch out for mosquitoes, every backyard in Long Beach seems to have been dealing with those little blood suckers these days... Food was great, especially the pulled pork and mashed potatoes with gravy! Our server was fantastic. I did notice they are not setup for quick service on such a large party of 20, but we ordered from the catering venue in advanced which allowed everyone to eat together. No one complained. Price was right on target for BBQ. Everyone loved the on tap beer selection (i.e. the milk stout) and the refreshing peach lemonade. Would do it again in a heartbeat. We stayed a half-an-hour after closing, but they were really accommodating. If I was rich, I would invest some love into the people and building to keep this place going for as long as possible!

Always a great time here at Johnny Rebs! The food is exactly how I remembered. The baby back ribs are my dads favorite and we were not disappointed. Thank you for the wonderful service Nikki and Eleazar! I will be returning soon! Please bring back the pecan pie and the apple turnover al a mode!

Went on a Sunday afternoon. There was no wait time and my waiter checked on me frequently. The food came out hot, and the atmosphere was welcoming from the door. I recommend the catfish po boy. My eyes got bigger than my stomach, so I ended up taking most of my meal with me. Overall my experience was pretty awesome. Would definitely cone back if I lived in the area.

This was a great longtime haunt in Orange and a surprise to find. The ribs were enormous and just fell off the bone. So much smoke flavor even reheated still savory.

The nearly 26.00 shrimp and grits was not good at all. There was cheese in the grits but you couldn't taste it. The shrimp were definitely overcooked and not seasoned at all. Tastes boiled. A HIGH level of tomato acid in the roux but unsalted. Needs to cut the tomato acid to half. After a few bites. It was inedible. 26 down the drain. They advertised with cornbread but sent me a biscuit (delivery). They packed the container (cup) of shrimp n grits on top of an aluminum pan with a light plastic top of banana pudding. By the time it got to me the weight of the cup dented and busted through the banana pudding. The banana pudding was NoT homemade. It was so soupy and bland. A few banana chunks and vanilla wafers. Sigh!!! Trashed it. The entire experience was horrible. 38 plus fee. 43.00 down the drain. I'm only giving 1 star because the biscuit was homemade. Every thing else, trashed.

I have visited Johnny Rebs' twice now for breakfast. I must say I love their potatoes and most of their dishes look freshly and seasoned like home made! My husband and I along with my girls will keep coming back whenever we get the chance.

I really liked the pulled pork sandwich combo and the cajun rice. My friend got the catfish and we were both surprised at how big just one piece of fish was. She could not finish it. Will definitely be coming back to try their other items.

Love their breakfast. I have recommended this place to many people. The inside is a bit small but is very homey. The patio is very comfortable. My favorite is the Yankee potatoes. Hy husband loves the fried green tomatoes. The veggie omelet and the flapjacks are also amazing. Portions are very generous.

The fried chicken has good flavor and not overly battered. But a bit dry for me, three grits were nicely cooked and very filling. Eggs I ordered were sunny side up and they were cooked perfectly

Excellent service and I mean Excellent. Our waiter and bus person bent over backwards to make our 1st visit a great one. The food was also sooo good and we will be back often ! What a hidden jewel of a restaurant.

Yummy yummy yummy! Comfort food at its finest. The staff greets the customers with a warm smile! And the food is delightful every bite brings so much joy 😋. We started our mail with the Mimosa flight but truly lifted off around the second cup. And finished our mail with the delicious peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream that was too perfect.

Yummy food!! Chicken fried steak was melt in my mouth. Loved the grilled fried Mac and cheese. Jalapeno hush puppies were pretty good. Fried pickles were good. Great deal right now on Yelp. Buy chicken dinner and check in and get one free.
