I love the dry natural landscape blended with the oil wells. They come together nicely. If I was a painter I would paint this unique location a masterpiece.

The Wetlands I have photographed extensively in Seal Beach, Ca USA. I meet a lot of people. I met the client, and was honored to photograph this collection of well preserved 🇺🇸 American Antiques. What an experience and a big mouth will lead you too. The items in well preserved condition. The world now can share this collection, because The Prentice Family shared them with me #godblessamerica #theprenticecollection and all of #US

Check out the walking tour put on by the Los Cerritos Wetlands Trust at 8 am on the first Saturday of every month. They lead you onto the wetlands property that is normally off limits to the public. Very informative and nice views you don't from Pacific Coast Highway.

It is a great place to volunteer. It has a nature trail that is currently being worked on but on the first Saturday of every month there is a nature walk opened to the public. If you volunteer after the walk you could win prizes. It is a great place to visit and see.

This spot is my go-to. Known as the bait tank, the whirlpool, and many others I am sure. There is an insane amount of bait fish swimming in small area, making it ideal for a sabiki rig. You can either take your freshly caught bait and go elsewhere. Or you can try your luck at the incredible diverse population of fish there. Bass, sargo, halibut, small sharks, and even sheepshead and even corbina.

It's a decent fishing spot very good spot for Bait fish but you won't really get much big fish out there

I run by here several times a week and unfortunately rarely see much wildlife. A few cranes and herons occasionally, but more often is people driving around or hiking along the dirt road.

A peaceful nature place with free lot to park the fishing is amazing sargo halibit bass smelt smoothound sharks octopus and an occaisional sheepshead you never know what you will pull up but my heart belongs to the beautiful birds they are people friendly and we protect them all the snowy white herons seaguls blackcrowned night heron pigeons crows great blue heron and so many more these birds feel at home there in the back of the power and water which runs along the wetlands and alongside the bike trail

Went by when they were supposed to be open, but the gate was locked. You must hike or bike to get to it, so it's a major disappointment to find its locked.

Walk with the Audubon Society was so fun, we saw many different species and the work being done to restore has made it so green and nice for the wildlife

The part I toured was still more of a semi- abandoned oilfield than nature preserve. A long way to go to be comparable with Balsa Chica. The volunteer effort is commendable

What are people from Long Beach and LA County telling people from Orange County and Seal Beach what to do with OC land(Hellman Ranch Property)??? 😤😤😤. Maybe they should stick to LA county and that hot mess power plant and landfill in their area of the wetlands! The best part of the wetlands(Hellman Ranch) is 100% OC county land and 100% OC people should be planning and running it. Screw the Long Beach Audubon group that thinks this is their private extended playground to exclude the OC general public from! Maybe you selfish clowns can put up a statue of Ann Cantrel, but other than that, get out of OUR Hellman Ranch wetlands ASAP! The Hellman Ranch Property should be an extension of Gum Tree Park with trailheads at the Avalon Street entrance. Both my parents played in this open land area in the 40s and it should be returned 100% to Seal Beach as a wetlands area with proper usage and native replanting to attract and protect the wildlife and migratory birds. This should be done under Seal Beach residents supervision, not some crazy group of old lady birders!

Great place to see wildflowers and nature in general. Not open in it's entirety to the public, only certain days and hours. You need to call ahead and find out the opening schedule.

😠 Beautiful park, snooty locals. Took my retired father to the tennis courts for a game but found the single court occupied. Played on the only open Pickle-ball court using pickle balls and tennis rackets, told to leave by male boomer Karen. Not a good way to introduce new players to a game.
