This place is great! It was really warm inside, they should add a fan or two to the floor. My burger and salad were awesome, and the ginger mint lemonade was fantastic. I scarfed down the food fast but enjoyed every bite. I have the chipotle ahimsa burger, I highly recommend it. The dressing for the salad was awesome too! Next time I go I will try the desserts. The store is split in two, a dessert side and savory food side. The decor is great with love plants abundant. The staff is super nice and helpful. The restroom was clean, the store was clean and organic feeling. I’d definitely give this place a try if you were on the fence.

I visited Ahimsa for an early dinner. I have passed it a few times but this was my first visit. When I walked in it had a very relaxed atmosphere, more like a café than restaurant. There were a few guests but no one to welcome me or anyone at the desk to take an order. When the server arrived she was friendly and helpful, I asked for recommendations and she was extremely engaging. On recommendation, I ordered the Spicy Ranch Chick'n Burger with sweet potato fries. I was told the order would take 20 minutes. I took a seat and waited. The tables were all covered in crumbs, the floors needed sweeping and there was a filthy rag on the floor under the table. It took 35 minutes for my food to arrive with no explanation. The food was well presented and I was looking forward to it. When I did take a bite, it was luke warm at best and the fries were cold. This was disappointing given how long I had waited. However, the burger had a good texture and it was well filled with cabbage and Jalapeños. The burger was lacking heat given that it was meant to spicy and the louisiana hot sauce was lacking flavour. The sweet potato fries were well seasoned and well cooked but again were cold. Overall I am disappointed although it wouldn't take much to turn this from 3 to 5 stars. Thank you.

I got the Thai tofu bowl. It was very satisfying and fit the bill for a place to eat that doesn't serve food in plastic or Styrofoam. I brought my own metal utensils and glass of water to avoid contributing to the disposability problem that is endemic these days.

I've been vegan for 2 years now so I def recognize a good plant-based restaurant when I come across one, and unfortunately this one wasn't it. I still gave it 4 stars because any vegan restaurant is still an ethical business that's helping the issue of animal cruelty so because of that I only removed 1 star for the food. Both items I ordered were very plain in flavor which was disappointing because I had high hopes based on their excellent reviews. My appetizer was the summer rolls and for the main course I got the burrito. Both very dry, bland, boring. :( I'm sorry but reviews have to be honest, right? Again, because it's a vegan restaurant I will certainly give them another chance and come back for their milkshakes, desserts and possibly their burger or chicken sandwich which is what they're most famous for according to the cashier who was was super friendly and sweet.

The orange chicken burger and the chicken tenders were the BEST vegan chicken I have ever tasted!!! Atmosphere was nice, although a little too warm. Staff was friendly and helpful. All around great vegan restaurant!

Loved their food. We ordered Avocado Jalapeno Cheeseburger with split pea soup, Orange Chik'n Burger with French Fries and chocolate shake. The Avocado Jalapeno Cheeseburger was just yummy, made with their freshly made house-patty. Service was good. Polite and friendly. No complaints. Beautiful ambience with lots of indoor plants. It was very refreshing. However, they don’t have recycling bins and they could replace plastics with compostable/biodegradable plastics or paper products. We have just one planet, and it is on the verge of dying. Wish more people were mindful about the waste pollution.

I absolutely love this vegan cafe! The food is fantastic (especially the avocado jalapeño cheeseburger), but more than that, their cookies are SO GOOD. I’ve literally never had such good cookies, what to speak of vegan cookies. They also seem to have recently updated the ambiance inside and it’s really welcoming and peaceful.

Had a rice bowl with tempeh and it was very good. Well flavored and veggies cooked perfect so they still had some crunch. I also had the ginger lemonade and that good as well! The person who took my order was very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients, he was able to answer my questions easily. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating.

The place is relatively bare in terms of decor. There is not much that of an ambience. The food was average. I had the beyond burger. While there was some flavor, the bread was super dry and tasteless. The other plates reasonable, but again not memorable. Worth checking if you have someone that is vegan, vegetarian, etc, though.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! If you know what the phrase "whole foods plant-based" means and/or you just want to find a place that serves actual-food-with-nutrients (and not a vegan-chemicals version of your favorite junk/comfort food), then HTPB is your spot, hands down! The interior space is now even more beautiful than ever (filled with light n plants!), the staff is as rock solid, polite and helpful as ever, and it's always easy to park nearby. I am literally never disappointed when I eat here, pretty sure won't be either! Pro-Tip: the peanut butter cookie is a work of culinary art... treat y'self, eh?

Came here to try a new place and liked it! The food was good and it didn’t feel very heavy which I really enjoyed, the house-made patty was delicious and the tahini ginger dressing that comes with the side salad was very lovely! I will definitely come here again but my only thing to say is that more friendly staff interaction would make the experience much more enjoyable!!

Food was great, but the floor, it was sticky, food crumbs underneath the table and saw a dead roach by the door on the way out. Not sure if it was just that one day that the floor wasn’t cleaned properly. Kinda on the pricier side compared to other burger places offering Beyond Meat. Radhikaji: I appreciate your quick response. Just the floor situation can be bit improved, again I’m uncertain if I just went in at bad time it was an early evening hour on a weekday.

It was a very unintentional visit to the place. I loved the decor but the food was just a little to safe. Which took away from the flair. But I would go there again if I was in a pinch!

In town from Las Vegas and heard about the restaurant from our favorite podcast-Wisdom of the Sages. We tried the Hemp Tempeh Salad, the Vietnamese spring rolls, and the chicken strips. The strips were the best we ever tasted, the salad was loaded and the springs rolls and peanut sauce were fantastic. Well worth the wait! Plus, the date smoothie is a must.

This place was ok! I really liked the smoothie and the service was very friendly. The food was just ok, but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed if you want some vegan bites. My mock chicken was good but a little boring and my wife’s salad was mostly uninspired. The hang up I had was using their kid sized plastic utensils. So flimsy and hard to hold. I asked for proper ones and they said they didn’t have any. Come on… Mgmt: thanks for the quick reply. I’m not sure these were truly biodegradable as they came in a small plastic bag and didn’t feel characteristically biodegradable…

Not bad, but for a place supposed to be ecologically sensitive, plastic cutlery is a big no-no!

EDIT EDIT: I have reupgraded my review to reflect the experience I had today and to say that it is only occasionally that the food isn’t up to par. There is one cook who I was told works here five days a week who I recognize to be the person who does a great job, the other two days I am unsure about! EDIT: the food has changed and I don’t have the time to go and ask for a remake or refund every time my order is prepared poorly. The staff is kind and professional and is no way involved in my review. I have changed my review because my two most recent orders were cold, portioned incorrectly, and tasted different. I have been a regular customer for almost a year now, and am a lifelong vegan/vegetarian. Ahimsa is incredibly consistent (EDIT: not anymore) and the only time I’ve ever had a problem, they resolved it immediately. Leaving my review today because I let them know the last sandwich I received two days ago was not up to par, I was immediately comped a new sandwich and given an apology. In the middle of lunch rush. No questions asked. Excellent service and always friendly. Thoroughly enjoying my sandwich. Just thought the owner should know your staff does a great job and I hope they are being treated well.

This restaurant is AMAZING. They have really refreshing drinks, and the baked goods they carry these days are out of this world. I had an amazing berry cobbler! I can’t wait to see what they have baked fresh next time I’m in.

Guilt-free vegan food at it's best! Ahimsa is my go-to vegan restaurant for healthy meals and cheat days when I'm crazing things like vegan cauliflower buffalo wings!

Excellent vegan spot. The girl who works here in the evenings on weekdays is so kind and extra helpful when trying to navigate the menu. The sweet potato fries are a full dish by themselves. Tha nachos are delicious, but they are colder than traditional nachos; however better than most nschos. Got a homemade guava soda & tasted real juicy pieces of guava _ large straw where you can slurp the fruit right up. ENJOY ...also great place to work and study.

I love trying out new vegan restaurants it literally makes my day. I went here with my sister and we were not disappointed. Our palates were immensely satisfied. Everything we ordered…(and we tend to be the “ooohh let’s try this too” type of people so we pretty much order everything off the menu) was just so tasty. It was so divine and fulfilling. The portions were pretty big enough for both of us to take home our share and be fulfilled for dinner. Definitely coming back to this place to try out what we didn’t get to.

Love the food but hate the waste. Not sure why they are still using disposable dishes and cutlery. I'm sure there's a good reason but it's a bummer. The food is delicious. Some dishes are a bit heavy on the oil and have that burnt oil taste though I'm sensitive. But delicious, no doubt. Definitely coming back here. But would love a few less oily dishes and maybe I just haven't eaten here enough to know which. I'll update my review as I do with all my reviews if anything changes.

Amazing food, great customer service, cozy atmosphere :) This is my favorite restaurant in Long Beach. Highly recommend!

Thank you for being a vegan restaurant, but the food was lacking love/flavor on the nachos, no salt on the fries, and the burger was ok. At least put more of that smoked salsa for the nachos — would be nice. -Ordered from door dash

I like the owner he seems like a really nice guy an genuinely cares about providing excellent customer service. But I went in the other day after walking from home, it took me about 20 mins. I placed an order totalling $30+ dollars and was refused my payment because I was trying to pay with a $50 dollar bill and was just informed by the attendant that "We don't accept $50 bills" I didn't see any signs posted on the door.

I came here a few years ago and it was good, and I just went back and it was even better than I remember. Their homemade vegan burger patty is delicious, the staff was super nice, and the vibe is welcoming. Looking forward to coming back soon!
