They served me a half eaten slice of tomato in my burger. They charged me about $70 for the horrid burger and a cobb salad (that was missing ingredients). The manager sent me a free beer. Horrible experience. The server was nice. The kitchen staff and management should be fired. AVOID!

Dang the food is really really good. However there's something strange about staff. I think the manager needs to be replaced. I've been here two days and many people seem to be just not very people first. The workers are ok just not very friendly. The food is hot, delicious and flavorful. The chef and cook staff obviously know what they are doing. They even managed to get extra crispy bacon on my dad's burger when he asked for it. Speaking of burger it was one of the best I've had. The kids burger is also ridiculously delicious and huge. The battered fries are yummy! The green soup had really good spice and the clam chowder is exactly how I like it (which is on the slightly more liquid side) my potato dish was smoking hot and the cheese curds were so yummy. The sauce with it was super flavorful. We had a club sandwich and the meat inside was super thick and the sandwich was huge! The ship museum right outside was the highlight of my some lunch. He loved getting up and seeing the models right outside the restaurant

My sister and I both agreed her birthday lunch would be held aboard the Queen Mary. She's never been and it has been over a decade for me since my last visit. Together with our Mom it turned out to be the perfect day trip. Promenade Cafe may have been a casual choice, but the service they offered still had the flair of Old Hollywood - elegant and professional. I ordered the Chicken Panini which tasted good. Mom had the Chicken and Waffles, but the best lunch turned out to be the birthday girl's choice - the Brisket Burger. One bite was all I needed to give the Cafe 4 stars along with the great service they provided, and the grand view of the Long Beach harbor.

Terrible experience here. I came with my family to this "restaurant" with no expectations and was still disappointed. I asked for medium poached eggs and got eggs cooked all the way through like a hard boiled egg. I asked for a medium rare steak and got a dry, medium steak with unrendered fat and way to much Lawry's/salt. Sausages tasted like soy sausages. My father commented that when he goes to a restaurant that "the cook should be as good as, or better than me at cooking" and that this was clearly not the case for this place. Overall, I would avoid this restaurant and go literally anywhere else, even a Jack-in-the-Box, to get a much better meal for a much more reasonable price. Stay away from the Promenade Cafe.

Soooooo good. Went for breakfast Sunday...the 4 of us got the buffet. Loved the potatoes, super fresh fruit, croissant, bacon especially. My hubby and in.laws raved too about the coffee. We went back on Monday thinking we.d just order off the menu but the buffet was just too good so did that again. Yaay French toast in addition to tasty waffles. All was great again. Thank you cooks and servers for the great meals and experience.

If zero stars was an option - I would have given a zero. My friend has a specific diet due to his religion and stomach issues and doesn't eat pork. We were specific to the server "absolutely no pork" and asked to make sure that this dish didn't have pork in it. The menu Item also does not state anything about pork. The Chicken and waffles came to the table - chicken on the top - greens buried in the Middle and waffles on the bottom. My friend took a bite and instantly got sick - realizing there was small bits of pork in the greens under the chicken. When we spoke to the server she said "the item shouldn't have pork" and then came back minutes later stating that "the menu has changed". When we asked to speak to a manager she went and got one. 10 minutes later "cat" the manager on duty came over and made sure to let us know right away that "the menu hasn't actually changed but that greens are always made with pork" - with zero concern that my friend's religion and Health was put in jeopardy due to their lack of training. We were astounded by not only the lack of awareness of their menu - but also that lack of concern for the issues they caused to my friend. Will not recommend this place - and it's too bad cause the Queen Mary is a pretty cool location - unless there isn't anywhere I would be willing to eat lunch.

Now the food itself was very very good. The problem is it was very very cold from the bar (if u from the east coast you like it hot). So I gave it a 3. Now the hostess was sooooo wonderful that he got me fresh eggs from the back which is why I gave him a 5. Hot eggs made everything else tolerable. This is $30 buffet breakfast. How I would love to have a golden corral....jelario was absolutely wonderful!!!!!

The Beef Brisket Burger is the most awesome thing in the menu.... so far. We had to-die-for French fries, clam chowder, the Cobb salad and the queens burger. All delicious and savory. I wish I lived close by bc that would be my weekly treat!!!

I got the dinner buffet. I think it came out to $~60/person. The food at the buffet wasn't hot and wasn't good. Atmosphere sucks. I really recommend you leave the ship and go to a nearby restaurant instead of eating here. Servers and hostess were friendly, it's just the food and atmosphere that suck.

This place has kind of a weird vibe that doesn’t fit the Art Deco aesthetic of the ship. Instead it feels like the dining room in an outdated Hilton hotel or something. On a Saturday evening, dinner was limited to a Prime Rib buffet. Though, there is a kid menu with less expensive options and the waiter offered items from the Chelsea diner menu if asked. The food wasn’t bad, nor was the view. I’m just a little sour about having to pay for parking ($25) and ship admission ($10/pp) on top of premium prices at the restaurant. I wish they could at least validate parking or a portion of your admission if dining aboard. It’s a unique dining experience overall, and I want them to do well but I feel like there’s some kinks and a little work they need to do to their dining program before they get there.
