This was probably the best Fire Museum in the country, just because it is the home of Engine & Squad 51. The staff is a bunch of retired LA firefighters. There is so much knowledge there and so many great stories. I travelled across country just to take part in the 50th anniversary of the TV show Emergency. I had the best time there.

A great collection of old and (then new) fire vehicles. It's biggest star are the fire trucks and memoribilia from the 1970's TV show "Emergency!". Parking near the museum is difficult, but there is a parking structure across from the museum that is free.

While the draw for us was the equipment used in the 70s TV show "Emergency", the entire museum was extremely interesting. Small, but well laid out. The museum is staffed by retired L.A. County firefighters, who were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a comprehensive tour. Definitely worth the drive to Bellflower if you're in the area.

So much fun! We came here mainly to see the engine and squad from the old show Emergency! but there is so much more. The docents are retired fire captains and battalion commanders with an absolute wealth of information and stories about all of the vehicles on display. This is a must see place!!

Amazing place to go. The highlight of the visit was a retired firefighter who accompanied us and told us about each fire engine that was there. Many retirees volunteer their time to do these tours and it was awesome. Children would love it here as well. The tv show Emergency fire truck is here also.

You don't have to be a fireman to enjoy this great little museum, especially the displays from the TV show "Emergency". It's only $5.00 to enter. The guides are very informative. They are retired firemen. Plenty of free parking in the back. They have small gift shop also.

This is the most wonderful hidden gem of Southern California. Only $5 to get in, free for military or first responders. The docents are retired firefighters who are knowledgeable and take their time to explain every piece of machinery. If you love the show Emergency! you will enjoy the museum. I will be coming back.

I was here for my friends' wedding. Everything was beautiful! We started in the outdoor area and then moved to the reception hall. The food service is wonderful. The security team is so nice and friendly; they watched out for anyone who didn't belong to the event. One guard, I didn't catch her name, also helped with getting carts to take down our belongings and the couples gifts; she even held up the dress train she was very sweet. The coordinator Monica set up a nice change area for us and assisted with the cues to begin procession. She continuously checked in on us and helped the bride to feel more at ease.

Great place, worth the time to stop and visit. Very well placed displays and informative signs of early Era fire apparatuses to modern Era equipment, historical pieces of equipment on display as well. Very informative section on the pioneers and formation of the paramedicine/ paramedic program and the TV program Emergency! The best part was the people/ docents, very knowledgeable, friendly and informative. They gave you personal tours of the museum, equipment and explained it to you in layman's terms. One in particular gave us a tour, Gary Davis, awesome docent and gave us great insight on the life of a firefighter/ paramedic. He was one of the first paramedics in LA County history, a true pioneer and living history gem. Keep up the good work!

Very, very nice museum. Asking other items from LA County Fire, probably the only museum in the world to have the items that they have from the world famous TV show "Emergency". Also a beautiful homage to Kevin Woyjeck, one of the brave firefighters, who died in that horrible event memorialized in the movie, "Only the Brave". What a great museum!

Very cool place. As a child of the 70's, seeing the "Emergency" stuff made my year. Great guides that were all former firefighters and EMT's. Great collection of antique fire vehicles. Awesome experience!

So, as super huge museum buffs (we CAN'T pass up a good museum!), as people who love to learn all about how stuff works, and as watchers of the TV show Emergency!, we absolutely had to stop by, and I'm so glad we did! This museum has a lot of fascinating history packed into a compact space. You can get right up close to the exhibits, which lets you see all kinds of interesting detail, and there's everything from vehicles to small tools. I would especially like to thank our docent, who was so friendly and not only gave us a wonderfully informative tour and taught us a ton about the history of both firefighting equipment and the fire service as a whole, but also answered all my questions about just how a fire engine actually works and what all those knobs, dials, and compartments are for. I'm very grateful, sir - you made this nerd's day! I would also like to give a shoutout to the ladies at the desk for being super friendly and welcoming. You're all seriously awesome. :)

If you want to see what the LA County Fire Department was like over the years this is the place for you. Excellent exhibits, lots of fire equipment to see, including fire engines as far back as the steamers. If you’re a fan of the TV show Emergency, you’ll love seeing the Engine and Squad from the show. There are also very knowledgeable Docents who will be happy to give you a tour and answer all your questions or you can just walk through on your own. And there’s even an area where young children can climb on a toy fire engine, try on a children’s fireman coat and helmet and color some fire safety pictures. Definitely worth a visit!

Grat fun for kids and adults. Some play areas for little kids which out kid liked. Keep in mind they can't climb or touch the real stuff. Serious LA history here mixed with some Hollywood (Emergency show)

This is a fabulous place to visit for the fire buff or fan of the TV show EMERGENCY! On display are two fire engines, the squad and an ambulance used in the show. The volunteers are all retired or current members of the LA County Fire department and can share a wealth of knowledge. Parking is free across the street in the city parking garage.

Amazing! The work that's been put in on these classic Fire Service Apparatus is amazing. Such attention to detail and preservation/restoration of LA County Fire Department history! From Engine and Squad 51 to a 1928 Seagrave and the Granite Mountain Hotshot crew bus, there's something neat and interesting for everyone. As a proud member of the Los Angeles County Fire Department myself, I love the work this group does to keep our history alive!

This was an amazing experience me and my dad loved binge watching Emergency! and I lost my dad in 2017 due to a heart attack and when I found out there was a museum that had the real Engine 51 and Squad 51 I knew he would’ve taken me but 7 years later I was able to go see the actual Engine 51 and Squad 51 I wish he would’ve been there with me but I know he was with me in spirit and that’s why I felt so welcomed

Unfortunately it wasn't what I expected, I was really excited to take my 2 year old son to this museum because he is into firetrucks and he finds them amusing, we went in and we were received in a kind way when paying up front, but once going in there was a group of older men sitting at a table. My son is an active and curious one he was everywhere, I was right behind him when he was trying to get on the firetrucks it's a learning process to teach a toddler, I was asked to either leave or go sit my son at the back in the children's area. I believe this is a museum to explore? Not to go sit my son at a corner, I can have him sit and watch TV or color at home. Plus my son didn't destroy anything because I was right behind him at all times. He is an older person i didn't get his name but he was balled with white mustache, he might not have the patience but if so why work there? I even still asked if he can take a picture with my son not knowing we would get treated this way. Not only that but I guess he has forgotten what it is to be a child. Don't forget you were once a child. Don't kill a child's enthusiasm.
